RE-UPLOAD: Danielle Dax - Jakobshof, Aachen, Germany - 22.10.1987 (Flac)

Thanks to Dimenew and SpaceBandit for sharing this excellent recording on Dime.
---
from DIMENEW collection # 162
---

Rec. Info:
Vivanco EM 160 mic -> SONY WMD6 -> Mastercassette (TDK SA90) -> playback on Harman Kardon CD 491 -> Zoom H2n (at WAV 16/44) -> SD -> HD -> Audacity (edit/remaster) ->
WAV 16/44 -> TLH8 -> FLAC -> DIME -> YOUR EARS AND MIND...
This sounds superb, for the exception of the chatters here and there, epecially on the real quiet track. Voice and instruments are clear in the mix, though I had to balance the
volume on almost every track as well. Anyway, a recording that really deserves the name of a DIMENEW audience master. All thanks to the MASTERTAPER for capturing this some 25+ years ago!

Danielle Dax - an artist on multiple ways of music, paiting and designs. Here's a show from her days of music, maybe the year of her biggest success. The music spins round a bit of
electronic music (Gary Numan style), goth rock like Siouxsie and the banshees as well as upcoming dancefloor like Neneh Cherry. Nothing what would really scratch my mind on the surface,
but it's a nice performance, so why no giving it to you? So, here's the electronic clone to Siouxsie...Hope you like this one...SB.

Lemon Kittens - The Venue, London, UK - 08.09.1981 (Flac)

Danielle Dax sang in this band before start her solo career. Huge Thanks to Egg_Crisis for sending me this one to sahre here.

Cassette(Audience,unknown gen-from Camden market seller early 90's,TDK D60) > wav > Soundforge(normalise L & R channels) > CDWave(split on sector boundaries) > flac(6)

A version of this show has been on Dime.  This is my own rip so I don't know how this one compares with the other one.

I can't identify the last 2 tracks.  I compared them with the tracks on their few record releases and didn't find a match.
The tape ends abruptly so there may have been more performed - but this is all that was on the tape.

Setlist:

01 Intro
02 Up In Arms
03 Popsykle
04 Morbotalk
05 Small Mercies
06 Bookburner
07 ?

Danielle Dax - Burberries, Birmingham, UK - 01.12.1987 (Flac)

Huge Thanks to Egg_Crisis for sending me this recording to share here.

This recording had very low levels. The left channel was quiet and the right channel was a lot quieter.  For that reason I've used only the left channel and doubled it up so the flacs are half the size they'd normally be.  It sounded like the taper kept fiddling with the levels, for example adjusting them for Numb Companions which is a quiet one, then turning the levels down again a few seconds into the following song, etc.  All in all it doesn't sound too bad but it's strange quality, rather tinny, and Ms Dax's between song talking is barely audible at times.

Cassette(Audience,unknown gen from a record fair in 1988,BASF LH-EI 90) > wav > Soundforge(normalise L & R channels,some dehiss) > CDWave(split on sector boundaries) > flac(6)

Tape flip before the last song.

Danielle Dax - Heaven, London, UK - 04.03.1985 (Flac)

Thanks to Egg_Crisis for sending me this recording to share here.

Cassette(aud,unknown gen) > wav > Adobe Audition(noise reduction) > Soundforge(EQ) > CDWave(split on sector boundaries) > flac(6)

Cassette bought from one of the Camden Market sellers, early 90's

Compression averages at around .27 which is pretty small but that's because they're mono - I took the left channel and doubled it up because the right channel was muffled.

Setlist:

1. Ostrich
2. Hammerheads
3. Pariah
4. Fortune Cheats
5. Evil Honky Stomp
6. Here Come The Harvest Buns
7. Bed Caves
8. Tower Of Lies

Length: 29:31

Lineup: (an old torrent of a gig 5 weeks after this one gave this lineup so I assume it's the same for this gig)
Danielle Dax: Vocals, Synthesizers
David Knight: Synthesizers
Ian Sturgess: Bass, Percussion
Steve Reeves: Guitar
Martyn Watts: Drums
