RE-UPLOAD: Christian Death - La Dolce Vita, Lausanne, Switzerland - 09.04.1999 (Flac)

We're quite delighted to present you this one. We were asked by Alex (who by the way took the excellent pictures on the post andthe cover) if we could help transfering this master tape of his friend, who prefers to remain unknown., and post it here. It was our pleasure :)

This is Valor's incarnation of the band promoting the "Pornographic Messiah" record.  There's an unexpected tribute on the end of the set to Rozz Williams, when the band plays some songs co-written with him (Rozz had commited suicide on year before).

RE-UPLOAD: Christian Death - Alexandria Hotel, Los Angeles, USA - 22.12.1983 (Flac)

Another concert kindly shared by Superblasted, a HUGE Thank You to Him for this series of CD concerts.

Tape (audience / unknown generation) transfered into CD received in a trade in late 90's
Lineage: CD > EAC > Audacity (speed corrected) > WAV > FLAC > You

Original Info File:

Sound is pretty raw, but this is an historical performance.

This is the first Christian Death gig with joining team Valor, Gitane Demone, Constance and David Glass,
who will bring us one of the most intriging and beautiful piece of music (at least to me): Catastrophe Ballet.

New songs and new versions are tested here (ie. Burnt offerings with Electra Descending lyrics, first performance of The Drowning...) wich make this one a must have gig!

Enjoy !

RE-UPLOAD: RE-UPLOAD: Christian Death - Roxy Theatre, Los Angeles - 06.04.1985 (Flac)

Another rarity shared by Superblasted. A Huge Thank You to him for this week of Christian Death Delights.

Original Info File:

"The Path Of Sorrows" performance.
(not to be confused with The Path of Sorrows album released in 1993)

Lineage: Audience recording > unknown generation tape > CDr trade > EAC > Audacity > WAV > FLAC > You!
Audacity was used to split tracks, speed correction and removing some cuts.

This one is the only know 1985 recorded performance with still Rozz on vocals!

I tracked down this show for so many years, and so far it's the better source i've got.
The sound is a bit muffy and loud but overall good. I tried to level up the high frequencies but the result wasn't satisfying, and too saturated.
So this is the direct transfert from what i got. It got some little pops on a couple of tracks however.
If someone feels like improving the sound of this historical performance, or even better, has a low gen source, please process and share!!

Christian Death performed a series of gigs entitled "The Path Of Sorrows" in march/april 1985 in America to promote "Ashes" album.
The Los Angeles gig at Roxy Theatre on 6 April 1985 is a multi-media extravaganza featured films, a banquet, and a program. Kristina Fuller coordinated and supervised the visuals, film sections and Rozz's four costume changes.

In late April 1985, Rozz officialy left Christian Death after a phonecall to Gitane Demone, leaving Valor to take the rest of the band to Italy as part of the European tour.
The Rest of the story is well known, Skippy hijacked the name, even if he agreed to performs as "Sin and Sacrifice of Christain Death" at first.
Who knows how Christian Death could have evolved if Rozz stayed in the band...

So 25 years ago was the Path of Sorrows.

Very good sound. Thanks to the original uploader.

Original Info File:

BIbER master-series #030

Master - Audience recording from an old TDK SA C90

Equipment:
Recorder: Sony WM D3
Micro: AIWA CM 30E.

Anyway here is the master as it is on the original cassette. No corrections were made.
The sound-quality is -for its age- very good +, maybe better. Very good listenable. Well done, BIbER!

Another Kuschelrock-concert from back Kuschelrock-romantic-high-times. Don't ever ask me how I liked this one here.
The audience was partially completely verwirred.  In the background a film was running through showing the whole time the same sequences of a short war-film.
Art?
Music?
Shit?
Love it!

Cover and Label Artwork for this show is included.

Buy their records on vinyl - if you still can

And -of course- a small thanks to the original-taper: thank you, BIbER!!!!!

Christian Death - Meerhaus, Bern, Switzerland - 25.10.1986 (Flac)

You can still get the MP3 version here: http://swisstapes.blogspot.pt/search/label/Christian%20Death

Original Info File:

This is a hell of a recording (believe me!) and yet another example of a rare clarity in sound, one that I love for the listening pleasure alone and you too might like it, even if you are (like me) not one of Valor's biggest fans. Unlike later recordings of "Valor Christian Death", this indeed still carries the true goth spirit inherent in the early era of the band and a good portion of the tracks stem from "Catastrophe Ballet", "Ashes" and the still great "Atrocities" album.

This show is brought to you thanks to Swiss Tapes (http://swisstapes.blogspot.com/2010/06/christian-death-meerhaus-bern.html), who not only taped it but also posted it in a 24/44.1 FLAC version in his blog, which simply is priceless. BUT thanks also go to Dime member Creatured who, by posting a Rollins Band show from the same taper (http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=322296), was my guide to Swiss Tapes blog, which in return led me to download the Christian Death show, love it, track it, edit it and ultimately post it here.

I wouldn't be surprised if this were a yet uncirculated recording.

I need expert help with some of the track titles, that I couldn't find on the early albums that I have.

Lineage: audience recording with a Sony WM-DC6 Walkman Professional>mastertape>flac (24/44.1))>Toast 9.0.4 Titanium (.Sd2f)>Roxio Jam 6.0.3 (tracking/crossfade of tape flip/image file)>Toast 7.1.3 Titanium (flac 16/44.1)

Total running time: 73:46 min.

RE-UPLOAD: Christian Death - Hollywood Live, Los Angeles, USA - 29.10.1989 (DVD)

Thanks to Max1334 for making this DVD and to cEnda for sharing it here.

Original Info File:

THIS IS THE VERY FIRST REUNION SHOW THAT ROZZ WILLIAMS AND RIKK AGNEW DID TOGETHER ON THAT TOUR WITH EVA O.

STARTING IN THE FALL OF '89 THAT CULMINATED IN THE PHOENIX SHOW IN JANUARY, 1990 (THAT ONE APPEARS ON THE OFFICIAL "DEATH CLUB" DVD RELEASE ~ PLEASE NOTE THAT MY OWN PRIVATE CAMERA ANGLE ON THE RARE ROZZ DVD BELOW IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM THAT PHOENIX SHOW "DEATH CLUB" ANGLE, AND I THINK SUPERIOR TO THAT ONE). THIS RARE HOLLYWOOD SHOW IS APPROXIMATELY 50 MINUTES LONG AND SHOT FROM THE BALCONY WITH A ZOOM LENS.

THE VIDEO IS SOMEWHAT GRAINY/BLURRY, BUT ROZZ IS CLEARY VISIBLE ~ HE'S WEARING A BLACK MINI-SKIRT WITH GARTER BELTS.

OVERALL QUALITY IS ONLY ABOUT A "C" ON VIDEO, "B+" ON AUDIO.  AGAIN, THE EXTREME RARITY OF THISFOOTAGE MAKES IT VERY WELL-WORTH OWNING FOR FANS.

TRACKLIST:

02. FIGURATIVE THEATRE
