An exciting week...

This week is super exciting for me because my BFF Karen is flying in today for a weeks visit AND there is a release at Stamping Bella on Friday!! I have some sneak peeks, and Em said we could show them this week so today I will be showing you the first one I have; the babes have other images so make sure you stop by their blogs through out the week!

The image I am showing is called a heritage tree. When I first saw the image I thought of the tree from Harry Potter that attacked them, but as I was colouring the image I started thinking of the beautiful Magnolia tree that we had at our house in Toronto. That one week a year when it was fully in bloom people would stop to look and take pictures! Now we have little trees because we are in a new area in Calgary & I miss the big old tree (but not raking up the leaves!!)

I used the JUGS sketch from this weekend (JUGS23) but made mine into a square card to fit my image. The tree & leaves are coloured with copics, and I added some sweet pea flowersoft.

The ds paper is Dancing Girl and the card base is chocolate chip with 2 different size ribbons. I paper pierced around the ds paper, so I actually completed the C4C27 challenge of paper piecing - love it when that happens!

Have a great day, I have another sneak peek planned for Wednesday, and then of course for Bellariffic Fridays, which in honour of the release is ANYTHING GOES, email Em (em@stampingbella.com) your card by midnight Thursday to have it showcased on Bloggabella & remember you could win Bellabucks; which I'm sure will come in handy!!

Revisiting...

Last week Joanne B had a fantastic water colouring tutorial on her blog; when I saw it I tried to remember the last time I water coloured an image - I couldn't remember! Since finding copics they seem to be all I reach for; even my pencils are being ignored so I decided I would find my watercolour pens and get my reinkers out!

I used this weeks Crazy 4 Challenges sketch (C4C20) and chose MFT Pure Innocence - My Balloon and stamped the image with black stazon on Fabriano hot pressed paper and water coloured with reinkers. I had to remind myself to let a colour dry before trying to shade, but I really enjoyed water colouring again. The DS paper is from cosmo cricket and I used my Martha Stewart Scallop Dot border punch. I used a clear glaze pen on her shoes & heart and an atyou red pen on the buckle on her shoe.

Thanks for stopping by - and thanks for the inspiration Joanne!

reinkers: ruby red, old olive, summer sun & more mustard, chocolate chip.

A Snowball Story...

I was counting my Christmas cards - I only have 75 (including 15 that are 1/2 made) so I have about another 30 to go! When I finished this card tonight I wished I made more then 6, although I am not sure how mail friendly they are they are pretty thick!

I saw this great challenge on Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C10) this week to make an easel card, which I have never done so I wanted to try (click here for the instructions). I used Elzybell's Mischievous and a "made a snowball" as my stamps & I was really happy with how it turned out. The directions are to add a brad or button to hold the card in place, but my bases are 130lb cardstock so I didn't need to add anything & it took away from the "made a snowball" story.

Mischievous is stamped with mementos ink and coloured with copics, I added some purple Taylor's Tiny Twinkles for the buttons on her coat. For the snowballs and snow on the ground I used liquid applique and ultra fine glitter & just let it dry, for the snow falling I used my quickie glue pen and the same glitter. The DS paper is from Fancy Pants Arctic Chill collection called Snowball

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are closer to finishing your Christmas cards then I am!!

Flowery Bellariffic

Happy Friday!! This weeks Bellariffic Fridays challenge was to use nature or flower stamps from Stamping Bella, I decided to ink up one of my flower sets that hasn't been used (you believe there was just this on right?!)

I used the sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C7) as my starting point (I love sketches, they make me work outside my normal box!) Pocket full of Posies is stamped with mementos ink onto bella's bestest paper and coloured with copics. I double stamped the image so I could colour and pop a few of the flowers. I also stamped the image onto yellow cs and paper pieced then popped the ribbon. I added some star dust stickles to the center of the flowers. The DS paper is from cosmo cricket. I added some poppy bella glitter dots.

Don't forget to sign up for the Chichiboulie Fairies blog hop on October 31; click here for all the details and make sure you stop by Bloggabella to see all the other amazing bellariffic friday cards!
Have a great weekend!!

COME ON BE HAPPY....A STAMPING BELLA SNEAKY PEAKY

It's release day over at Stamping Bella & Emily will be updating her blog all day with the new stuff. I was lucky enough to have some new stamps make the trip home with me, and if you live near the store go in she has AMAZING stuff in there; how I miss her & my happy place!!

Now I'm not a bird girl (that's my BFF) but when I saw these ones I loved them - and I have to say the entire time I was making the card, and now posting it the Partridge family song has been going through my head!!

I found a new challenge blog thanks to Mercy - it's called Crazy 4 Challenges and they have new challenges on Saturdays and this month is sponsored by Stamping Bella!! I used last weeks challenge C4C3 and stamped What a Tweetie with mementos ink onto Bella's bestest paper and coloured them with copics. I paper pieced the wings, thought about the hearts but when I looked at the little ones I decided to stickle them instead! I also added some midnight light smooch to their lips, so they look glossy because I am all about gloss after the amazing stuff I bought last week!

The base is white, layered with Bermuda bay and melon mambo. The ds paper is from bella blvd and I paper pierced around the layers. I added some fuschia bella bonbons along the patterned paper.

Make sure you stop by Stamping Bella to see all the new releases & you have until Thursday at midnight to email Em your Bellariffic Friday card, click here for the sketch

Don't forget Saturday is the LULU blog hop, click here for all the details and hop along with all of us

Have a great day!
