Katipatch Sister Block Exchange

It is that time of year again for the Katipatch swap.  This year the theme is 'Houses'.
These are the fabrics that were chosen by Carol for this year's blocks.  I only used one fabric, which was the light beige.
This is the fourth year of the Sister Block Exchange.  Many thanks to Carol of Katipatch for hosting the swap each year.  See you next year!!!

Quake

To all my dear friends in New Zealand, especially Christchurch.
I want you to know that I am thinking and praying for you and your families at this time.  I know that you have a fighting spirit and warm compassion for your fellow citizens and a great love for your country.  May God grant you peace and heal your broken hearts.

Katipatch Sister Block Exchange

The four pattern fabrics were chosen for this year's Katipatch Sister Block Swap. This is the third year that I have taken part in the exchange. I love this challenge and look forward to it every year.
These are the blocks that I had made and I hope my fellow sister swappers like them. If you would like to join us on the next exchange, please contact Katipatch.

Katipatch Sister Block Exchange

This is the second year I have exchanged blocks with quilters in New Zealand and Australia. These are the blocks I have made and now on their way to Katipatch shop in Katikati NZ. They co-ordinate the exchange. This year Carol and Cindy chose a challenge fabric. It took me a long time to decide on what blocks I would sew as I did not like the fabric initially. But now the fabric has found a small place in my heart and fabric stash!!
When I recieve my blocks from Katipatch I will be posting here first. So do come back in the near future.
If you would like to get involved in next year's Sister Block Exchange check out the Katipatch website.

Auckland

I love Auckland. What a City! This photo was taken from Devonport. If you are visiting the city, you must go up the Sky Tower. From the top of the tower is the most amazing view of Auckland. All quilters and textile artists should take the ferry from the city to Devonport. Walk up the main high street. Stop at the public library. There is a quilt hanging in the library. Then continue up the street to Cushla Village Fabric shop. This is a shop were you leave your husband/partner next door in the coffee shop. And remember to take his credit card!! Do you want to see what came home with me as it kept calling out to me in the Cushla?
