Hard Candy Glossaholic review and swatches

Today I have a quick review and swatches of Hard Candy Glossaholic lipglosses. Keep reading to see more...

If you've seen the beauty of a flakie filled polish then you can understand my excitement when I spotted these in the store. This isn't the first time I've seen this kind of thing, Cover Girl attempted it and it turned out an epic disappointment. I first picked up Coffee. Coffee is named for it's scent, not it's shade. It is a milky clear absolutely loaded with iridescent warm gold/yellow flakies. There is the main color line of Glossaholics and then two "mood" glosses. Coffee is obviously scented with coffee but also something like ginger. The scent of it is kind of gross in my opinion but it fades quickly. I don't notice any taste.
The texture is exactly what I like in a gloss, not sticky or too slick. For a gloss it lasts pretty decently but still needs touch ups quite often, like every hour (but I lick/bite my lips A LOT).
After trying Coffee I purchased Fairy, a milky pink with iridescent purple/pink flakies. I like this one even better than Coffee. And I wish I could capture these in the sunlight, they flash so beautifully and the flakies really pop.

Last but not least, the brush. I was surprised when I pulled out this sucker:
This is compared to a normal doe foot applicator. I personally like the oversized one but I can see how many people wouldn't. It holds plenty of product so I don't have to dip the wand over and over and over.

Have you tried these? What do you think of the giant applicator?

IDK FOTD

I can't think of a clever name for this post so to not further delay this, I'm just going to call it IDK.

This is another look I did using colors from my Urban Decay Deluxe palette, and the highlight is another UD color that I absolutely love- Polyester Bride. It's one of the only eyeshadows I have ever finished a pan of- going on 2. It's the perfect soft pearly white with sparse silver glitter. The glitter I could do without but there is just something special about this shade.

Products Used:
UDPP in Eden
UD Scratch (lid)
UD Polyester Bride (highlight)
UD Ransom (crease)
L'oreal Telescopic liquid liner
Hard Candy Sparkle Grey liquid liner

Kinda classic FOTN

I love dressing up. If I can find any excuse to put on my fake eyelashes I'll take it. This time I might have gone a little overboard. I tried to put some individual (the clumps of a few lashes) on my bottom lashes. This worked on one eye but on the other it seems the lashes I used were extra dense or something, which I didn't realize until afterwards (though before I left the house thankfully ;)) so please ignore that! So frustrating when you don't notice something major until it's too late -_-

Anyyyyways...I decided to get my tripod and remote out for once so I snapped a few more photos than usual. My shirt is a little um...busty. I'm sorry about that and I debated about even posting these photos but you know what? My blog, my boobs lol. They aren't anything I can change, I know I'm not alone

Products used:
Wet n Wild Vanity palette
L'oreal Telescopic liquid liner
kkcenterhk.com lashes #A218 (only top lashes)

Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse in Porcelain Ivory
Revlon Photoready concealer in Fair

MAC Peaches blush

L'oreal Colour Riche lipliner in All About Pink

I've been told to smile more lol

I've been working on my eyebrows, I think they are improved. Do you?

Latest Fyrinnae order Dia de Los Muertos and FOTD

The new Dia de los Muertos collection from Fyrinnae is now on their site, as soon as I notice I rushed to order and I was not disappointed!

For both the above picture of the pots and the swatches below:
From L-R and Top to Bottom- Danse Macabre (vibrant grass green with gold shimmer -free sample), Calavera Cupcakes (silver-purple), Eternal Innocence (peacock teal-green), La Noche and (deep yet bright midnight blue) Catrina Cabaret (dusty teal with purple shimmer)

I am blown away by how gorgeous these are. Such vibrant colors! I have a lot of Fyrinnae shadows but these have potential to become favorites (I'm looking at you La Noche and Calvera Cupcakes). And look below at the cute little sugar skulls on the labels, it's the little things that make me happy and this is one of them.

And because I couldn't resist playing when I got them, here is my FOTD...

Products used:
MAC Painterly Paint Pot (base)
Revlon Vintage Lace matte eyeshadow (highlight)
Fyrinnae Danse Macabre (inner corner to middle of lid)

Hard Candy Walk The Line liquid eyeliner review

I recently picked up Hard Candy Walk the Line liquid eyeliner in both Night Sky and Fuschia.

The packaging on these is really cute. I must say that Hard Candy does a really good job on presentation. The applicator in these is a tiny brush, I would prefer if it were a little shorter for more control but it is decent. No splayed bristles or anything like that.

Fuschia is a medium shimmery pink, no big surprise there.
Night Sky is a grey sheer base with holo glitter.

Here are some photos of the packaging:

Here are some swatches of the colors:
On the left are them by themselves, fuchsia followed by night sky. Then on the right they are layered over black, same order.

These are both very pretty colors, and the application is good on fuchsia through and through. However, when it comes to Night Sky it will NOT dry no matter how long I wait. Very disappointing. I have yet to wear because it seriously will not dry. On the back of my hand I gave it 5 minutes and nope- still not dry. I think it is because of the sheer base, so I would stay away from the glitter liners. I will definitely still be trying some of the other liners from Hard Candy I think.

These come in a dozen colors and retail for $6 at Walmart.

Hard Candy Sweet Pea and some CG Flip Flop Fantasy fun!

Another great glitter from Hard Candy! I haven't tried anything other than their glitters from this line but I think I have to, these are all so great. If you haven't seen them: Lava, Mr. Wrong and Sweet P are all gorgeous glitters with the best application of their kind and if you like glitter you NEED them. Here is 3 coats of Sweet Pea:

And I've had these for awhile, some Flip Flop Fantasy fun...this is topped with Cover Girl City Lights, 2 coats:
Stamped with China Glaze Millennium- I loved this mani!-
Polka dot and disco balls go well together, don't ya think?

Hard Candy Mr. Wrong & Lava + Mold ball!

Previously I had overlooked the new Hard Candy line with a quick glance. Down on that bottom shelf they all look pretty common and like nothing special. However, when I decided to take another look I spotted these 2.

Lava is gorgeous. I hate red on me and I LOVE this color. It has that lit from within glimmer, red with gold glitter and it applied like magic. 2 coats or slick and perfect application. This is an instant favorite.

Close-up in natural light

As for Mr. Wrong, he was actually a little disappointing. In the bottle this is beautiful and overwhelming. On the nail it seems like there is a little TOO much going on for it to pull through. This is a dark purple leaning towards blue extremely shimmery base with what appears to be silver glitter and gold flakies. Sounds like shimmer heaven right? Eh, I think if the base was lighter or brighter this would work but it just kind of falls flat and isn't as eye-catching or over the top as I thought it would be. Once again though, 2 coats of perfect application.

All in all- the Hard Candy line is not bad at all. I remember a few years back having a Hard Candy polish and it was terrible in every way. I will surely be checking more of these out if only for the great application. They sell for $5 at Walmart and come with a cute little plastic heart right (like in the first picture :)

And here is the ball of mold I pulled out of the dog food bag...I said I would post it and here it is. Still no response, considering ways to get their attention. This is not acceptable, what if this isn't the only bag with something like this? I would make a youtube video but I simply do not have a webcam. Any ideas?
