Toy Soldier Saturday: Tim-Mee U.S. Air Force (Part 1)

On this Memorial Day weekend we pay tribute (with the help of these Tim-Mee Toys) to the U.S. Air Force. These guys were made in the U.S,A, in the late '50s and early '60s. Their soft plastic comrades will appear in Part 2, soon. May their real-life counterparts continue to kick butt.

Toy Soldier Saturday: TIM-MEE KNIGHTS

Some Tim-Mee figures had strangely awkward poses (especially the pirates, HERE), but on these knights (except for the last one) it looks pretty good. The wide-legged stance on most of these guys allowed the company to produce both standing and mounted figures of the same poses. If I possess any Tim-Mee lances, I couldn't find them, so these boys had to borrow from their smaller-scale Lido brethren (HERE).

Toy Soldier Saturday: TIM-MEE CIVIL WARRIORS

Anybody out there fight the War Between the States with these little boogers? They're pretty crude compared to their Marx counterparts, but looks like they got the job done.

Toy Soldier Saturday: Tim-Mee Pirates

These pirates, made by Tim-Mee Toys in the '50s and '60s, were sold in bags in dime stores. Who remembers them?

Toy Soldiers: TIM-MEE COWBOYS - Part 1

Tim-Mee Toys began making these 70mm cowboys in the late '50s, and near as I can tell, they're still making them. They also made Indians, GIs, Civil War soldiers, pirates, knights and others. Though not as detailed or realistic as the Marx figures, they had a certain charm. The sheriff figure above measures 3 3/4" from boots to hat. Looks a lot like Wyatt Earp, doesn't he?

Anybody else remember these?
