Wedding Card for a Friend

Howdy -

Last week a friend asked me if I had any wedding cards - hmm no haven't made one of those in a while. So a perfect time to pull out an old favorite and have some fun don't you think.

This image by Tina Wenke has always been my one of my favorite wedding images. Love how cute it is.

Old Stampavie image - so sadly it is no longer available. Really a great Tina Wenke image - I colored with my Copics - then cut out with Nesties and matted with a scalloped nestie. My papers are from My Minds Eye - Pretty Things Collection. I sewed the layers down - then punched out two bands with a My Favorite things Die - My sentiment is from Stampabilities. I stamped on the cream card stock, layered on the core-dinations teal card stock used in the card - then layered on top of the two die cut bands. I punched out LOTS of Marvy Flowers, Martha Stewart leaves and branches and made a bouquet of flowers. I dotted the centers of the flowers with Viva Decor Paper Pen. Love how it turned out - hope my friend liked it and more important I hope the bride and groom like it. :0)

Inisde the same papers - One of the papers in the collection are scrabble words - Love just works with a wedding card!

Copic colors used -

This one just all came together - cards like that are not always easy to come by and they always end up being ones I like how they end up.

Suppose to be a really pretty weekend here... need to get up and get all my chores done so I don't get stuck inside this weekend. Hope the weather is going to be nice where you are -

I will see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers -

First again I need to give a huge shout out to Tina Wenke - Her new papers are so beautiful and they are perfect for this image are they not? Make sure to visit her new site and see them ok? (www.tinawenke.com)  Now back to this beautiful image. I will be honest here... I colored on this for over an hour. I kept going back and adding more shading, adding more snow, adding more stickles to the berries. Then after all of that I decided to pop the bird... so I printed me a second one and colored the bird all over again cut it out and pop dotted it over the first bird.

You can see the popping here -

I also die cut out a little wooden fence and added a little snow to it as well. Then I added the very last piece of my favorite ribbon. I need to find more of that ribbon....

Here is the inside with matching piece of the Tina Wenke Papers -

High Hopes Challenge - Feathers and Fur!

Howdy - today is the High Hopes Challenge! And this challenge really is a Fun one.. to include Feathers and/or Fur in your project. Now don't worry.. you don't have to use the real thing, the image can just be that has Feathers or Fur. But stretch your imagination and see if you can add a little fun to it!

Me I have been just dying to use this adorable image that I got  - it is so perfect, and I love that sentiment with it!

The image is called "My Best For Him" and it can be found HERE. And the sentiment is called "Truth about Christmas" and it can be found HERE.

Now before I go to much into the card I just have to give out a huge shout out to my Buddies Mike and Tina Wenke!!  They have been working on some fabulous new papers! Yes... that wonderfully talented artist Tina Wenke now has scrapbook and card making papers for sale! Just pop on over to her web site (www.TinaWenke.com) Click on into her shop and you will see lots of new goodies.  I am totally in love with the new Card Making papers!! They are 12x12 "Scrapbook" Papers diving into four 6x6 different pattern papers on one piece! So for my card I have four wonderful prints, but only used one piece of paper. Love that! And as soon as I saw tis wonderful Rejoice in the Winter Collection I knew it was perfect for my stamp I was using today. There are lots of great patterns so please pop on over and see them for yourself!  Tell them Michelle sent you and I said "Hi" :0)

Ok, now back to my card for the challenge - I colored my image with my Copics. (Sorry I mixed up my Copics before I snapped my photo) I then cut down the pattern paper and zig zag stitched together two of the patterns for the front, using the center of the mat pattern to also be the mat for my image. Thrifty huh? I then sewed down my image and attached to the front of a kraft card stock base. I found some dark brown twine in a drawer and it just seemed to be a natural embellishment for this image. I wrapped around the top three times, and the bottom three times and then took some small pieces and tied around them while curing the ends. I then stamped out my sentiment. This is one large sentiment... I just cut it in half so it would fit better on my card. I used a Copic to create a mat look on the edges, and pop dotted in place.

Then I added some glue and Ivory Flower Soft to my little lamb. I wanted to use Flocking, but in my mess of a room I couldn't find mine anywhere!! Hate that, but I don't think the Flower Soft turned out too bad. Gives him a bit of a curly look don't you think?

I then used the other two patterns from the Tina Wenke paper to create a simple inside -

This card really made me happy - it feels right I guess. And it came together all wonderfully.  The great image, with the great traditional Wenke Papers and the natural embellishment.

Now you want to see more Feathers and Fur? I know you do, cuz I have seen them and you just must! So head on over to the High Hopes Challenge and check out all the DT have flocked, feathered, puffed up and put together for this weeks challenge. Then please do join us! You could increase your count of High Hope stamps!!

So it is Tuesday... we have our wonderful helper coming out so Hubby will be out with him most of the day working on something. Me, I think house cleaning, laundry and cleaning and pricing things for our booth in the Antique Mall. Blah... I would so much rather be outside - or out junking!  But somethings to have to be done don't they?  Hope you have something wonderful to do today -

Follow Your Dreams

My turn to post on the Stampavie DT blog, and I pulled out the new Tina Wenke image Mouse and Poppy Seeds.

Tina images just make me smile. And this one is a favorite :0)

I colored with my ProMarkers, and kept it really bright and colorful. My papers are from Graphic 45, sewed down. My leaves are from Papertrey Ink, love their matching dies and stamps. I punched EK Success Retro Flowers, rolled the petals, and stacked the two smaller sizes. The centers are Pearl Pen.

The sentiment is also from Tina Wenke, cut out with a Papertrey Ink mat stacking dies.

I hope that this Tina Wenke card gave you a smile :0)

Have a great day -

Stampavie - Penny Johnson - Duckling Bridge

My last CHA project. Yep I am all out of made up things to show you. So I must start crafting again! I did color one night this week. It was wonderful! Felt glorious!  Ok so I threw it in the trash can once done cuz it was not good at all... but I do believe I am now ready to get back to work. My hand is ugly don't get me wrong. And it itches like crazy. But I can use it and bend all my fingers. Whoo Hoo!! Now if I can get caught up with work this week, then I will have some free time to craft!

But here is one last card I made up for CHA for Stampavie. This is one of the new Penny Johnson images "Duckling Bridge" - really a sweet image.

I so enjoyed coloring this image - like a coloring book page - so many things to have fun with. I used my Promarkers from Letraset- All the papers I believe are SEI - from way way way long ago. I used a piece of vintage lace - and then that ribbon.. I stamped that! Yes the sentiment Thanks is from Stampavie Tina Wenke. And I just stamped it over and over across a piece of ribbon. Love that will be doing more of it for sure!

So that is all my CHA stuff... darn good thing I had so much from the show to share the past few weeks huh? What would I have done not being able to craft.

Have you been visiting the Stampavie Blog? The DT has really been showing some wonderful projects with all the new stuff - take a few minutes and visit and see :0)

Early day today... Libbie and Tuco have vet appointments. Tuco for his second round of puppy shots and Libbie for her annual visit and shots. I can only handle two at a time. So next Tuesday I'll take Autie and Chica. After done with the doggies today I then have to get to work. Long day today but I hope to get LOTS done! Feels good to be going 100% again. Now if only there were 36 hours in a day I just might get all caught up. LOL

Have a great day-

Where have I been? How about some Candy?

Where have I been? Man, I can't believe Saturday was the last day I posted! I have no excuse really - I took Sunday completely off. Didn't even turn on my computer. Spent the day with Hubby helping him bring in loads of hay. I say helping very loosely :0) I still only have one hand to work with. My rope burned hand is getting much better but I still can't use it as much as I would like. So I spent the day riding around with Hubby and holding gates for him. Monday and Tuesday - I have no clue where those days went. LOL

So to make it up to you I thought I might offer up some candy. Bribe yes... but a really great one!

After the close of CHA- the very generous Heidi  from Stampavie gave me a few of the brand new Stampavie images to bring home and share with you for some blog candy.

What do we have here?
Tina Wenke's - Bunny with Butterflies (pop back tomorrow to see this in color wink wink)
Sarah Kay's - A Little Bit of Country

Good thing I have a few Made up Projects -

HI - the Rodeo on Monday was really fun. Totally loved watching the sheep dog trials! And we enjoyed a really nice day together, Hubby and I.  Well until late in the day.... well accident prone Michelle entered ! But honestly this wasn't my fault - Really it wasn't! Working with the horses - I was holding a rope for Hubby and in a totally flash - my hand was pinned to the fence post and the rope was spiraling out of my hand and well... OUCH! I have rope burns on all four fingers on the inside of my right hand. Bad Rope Burns. I am actually doing pretty good considering I am not a Lefty and can't figure out how to do anything without my right hand. How do you lefty's do it? :0)

So no coloring for a little while, in fact I tried to use my scissors today and couldn't even open and close them once... so I moved them to my left hand and well cut right into the middle of what I cutting, so I think scissors will have to wait a little while as well. Sigh... Good thing I have a few made up Projects left from CHA!

Here is one of the new Stampavie Sarah Kay images  - "Bath Time"
I went vintage with this one. Colored the image with my Promarkers, then tore her out and inked the edges. I used scrap pattern papers one that looks like cardboard, and one with script pattern. Sorry lost the names. I backed it with brown card stock that I punched with a Martha Stewart border punch. Now do you recognize that chandelier? YEP another Stampavie image. From Penny Johnson - Now this was totally cool - I took a piece of the brown card stock, and I stamped with bleach! Yes plain ole bleach! Now I made sure to wash my stamp well after using the stamp. But the effects were totally cool - will be doing this again for sure. I stamped the brand new Tina Wenke Dream stamp with bleach as well on a scrap of blue paper.

Some sewing, pearls and dotted swiss ribbon and I like how this card came out! And I love that it was already done to show you!

No worries... I'll be ok, and my private nurse "Hubby" has been taking pretty good care of me... following me around asking if I have soaked my hand and checking my boo boo's every time he can. I feel so bad that I can't clean the house and do my chores around the house... really I do. LOL

Have a great day -

Giddy UP! by Tina Wenke

I love this time of the year.. today is one of Hubby and I's favorite things to do. The Rodeo is going on here and today is what we fondly call.. "Donkey Days"! Every year we take a day as our special day and go sit in the stands and watch the Donkey competitions - Showmanship, Confirmation (how the donkey is built compared to a perfect donkey), obstacle courses and much more. But we are even more excited this year, as never is Donkey Days the same days as the Sheep Dog competitions.. but this year they will be going on today as well! I have always wanted to watch this at the rodeo. And it is never when we can attend. We are so looking forward to it all this year.

That is enough about us and the Rodeo... I do have a card to show off today too :0)
This is one of the new Stampavie Tina Wenke images called - Giddy Up!  I thought it was appropriate for the Rodeo :0)

This card was a lot of fun - Normally I get a little stressed doing "boy" cards, but I so totally love this adorable guy and his doggie it just flew together. I used a piece of Core'dinations impressed paper that I sanded heavily - then I found a scrap of this awesome cowboy paper... sorry have no name for it. I blanket stitched around it and the image, pop dotted to the card and ran twine around the entire thing.

The image is colored with my Promarkers, and the sentiment is from the New Tina Wenke sentiment set called... well called "Happy Birthday" LOL I also added a Tim Holtz metal embellishment that reads wonderful.

I like this boy card, and it is hard for me to be happy with those un-flowered, non pink male cards. Ha!

Ok... OFF TO THE RODEO!
Hugs have a wonderful day!

New Releases - Tina Wenke - A Bird House -

Hello - Today I wanted to show you a bird house I made for CHA. You know I love bird houses. Well I found  a bird house with lots of sides to hold lots of different images! So I colored up a bunch of the new Tina Wenke Stampavie images and had some fun.
So I started with a blank wood bird house - painted it brown and white. Then I took my colored images and cut them out and glued them down. The roof... I punched out a million Fiskars Medium heart punches and inked the edges. I then glued them down (upside down) added a border punch around the bottom, I then modge podged the entire piece. Then I added the metal frame around the opening, quickutz leaf border, flowers and buttons.

I hope you liked my bird house. It ended up in a good home, I gave it after the show to my new friend Suzan as a Thank You for take me to Disney and a shopping trip :0) Gotta totally love a person that takes you to the happiest place on earth and Shopping! Thank you so much Suzan she is a total sweetie, and oh she has a great Husband and Doggy "Woody" that also deserves a big thank you for a grand time!

Have a great day!

Another Sneak Peek from CHA - Tina Wenke - Fairy Hugs

hi - ok, now I can't compare to all those gorgeous pages I showed yesterday, but I did a scrapbook page before I left for CHA. I did a few actually - Here is one.... and I used the new Stampavie - Tina Wenke image A Fairy Hugs!
I colored the image with Promarkers, LOTS of sticklers and then cut it out. It was perfect for my nieces dance recital photo... and a scrapbook page.
I kept it simple. But the background paper was a little bold, so I used a Lattice mask and white washed it. Then added some flourishes, and flowers. The words are Thickers - I have TONS of these from my days way back when I did scrapbook a lot. It was nice to actually use them again, they have felt so forgotten.

The photo is an older one - my niece is now a "teenager" ... hope she is ok with me sharing her photo. Little late though cuz it hung at CHA already... LOL

It was fun to actually scrap again. And the new inspiration is really starting to kick my MOJO up and I hope to get a chance to do some crafting this weekend.

OH Internet is up and working again... whew! Funny how we can't live with out the net isn't it. At least I had my phone so I wasn't totally cut off, but feels good to be back to normal again.

Have a wonderful Wednesday. HUGS and

Tina Wenke's Winter Birdhouse - Cocoa in a Bottle

Hello and Happy New Year! 2012 - wow. The holidays are over and now it is time to focus on the new year, but before I move on I wanted to show you a project I made as a little present this Christmas, using Tina Wenke's Winter Birdhouse image. Totally ADORE this image!
Now I would like to tell you that I worked over this project for hours, but reality. It took just minutes. The bottle is from Coca-Cola - their vintage 6 pack from last year. I HAD to have them when I saw them, but then never made anything with them. This year I clean and sanitized them, filled them with Hot Cocoa mix. Now you could mix up a homemade batch... but me. Well I just purchased a large box and divided it into the individual bottles. Then I found some cute corks for the tops at the craft store.

To decorate, red swiss dot Bazzil card stock, EK success punched border, Satin dotted red ribbon... done. The image. Now here again, you could color up individual images for each bottle. But time was short for me. So I colored up one - then made color copies on white card stock. Can you tell it is a copy? Cut out and added to the front.

Now you do need to add instructions - so I found tea dyed tags from my stash, added the same border to the bottom and hand wrote the instructions and tied to the top.

Hot Cocoa on a cold January night - yummy!

A Family Christmas Accordion Album

Happy Sunday - today I wanted to show you an accordion album I made of my family through the years - I really thought my Mom might like this :0)

The pieces of the album are die cuts from Sizzix. So easy to just pop in chip board run through the die, holes all line up and corners are perfect. I then went to town decorating! LOTS going on here. The cover is a new Stampavie Tina Wenke Christmas image. Santa with Children. Then I used lots of Tina's new Christmas sentiments.

This side you see photos of me with Santa... me and my Sister in front of our Christmas tree, and then one of my sister and her new baby doll... she is gonna love me for showing these online :0)

On the other side I showed off her kids at Christmas-
With Santa - Posing with their Christmas outfits - and our family tradition of the kids posing with the donkeys on Christmas day. What ... you don't know lots of people with that Christmas tradition? LOL well it is one of ours!

There are tons of embellishments and papers here - I just had fun and put as much as I could on them! Love how it came out. And I think my Mom will really enjoy it.

Hope you enjoyed seeing it and maybe it gave you an idea for a different gift for someone in your family!

Have a great Sunday-

Stampavie WinterBird House Photo Frame

Hello - today I wanted to share with you a project that I made for the Stampavie DT. I love how this came out! Sometimes I see things in my head, and they actually do come out just as I imagined them!

This is one of my favorite gift items to make -   Love how easy and wonderful these frames turn out. You start with a artist Canvas. Turn it upside down. Then cover it with scrapbook paper, cut an "X" in the inside of the wood part of the frame, and fold in to cover outer edges of the frame. Measure the inside depth of the wood, and cut strips of paper the same width and cover the sides. Then measure the inside opening and place inside. The papers I used are Basic Grey Figgy Pudding. For a lacey look, I punched an EK Success border folded the edge and attached. Let it stand up around the edges - give a great dimensional look.

My image is from the Stampavie Winter Release - This is Tina Wenke's Winter Birdhouse. I totally love this image! Gorgeous. I colored with Letraset Promarkers (Ivory, Tan, Caramel, Apricot, Denim Blue, Powder Blue, Cobalt Blue, Warm Grey 3 & 5, Marsh Green and Poppy) I then use a Marvy Snow Marker to create the puffed snow. This marker is awesome!

Here is a side view so you can see the depth inside the frame. Oh and that gorgeous sentiment! This is also Tina Wenke's - Stampavie release.
I also added some large dark red flowers and leaf punches. Oh and I guess I should tell you the fabulous photo is my Mom's family. My grandparents... Mom with her brothers and sister. My Mom is that cute little girl sitting on her Mom's lap :0)

Hope you like it!
