The Race isn't over... but one has crossed the finish line!

I have a card at the bottom of this post.. but first things first... LOL! Yes my three Moms... and their race to see who was first to deliver - well one of the Moms crossed the finish line just before Midnight last night! So who was your bet on? Mine was Macey... then maybe Jazz... and then last Cheyenne....

well...

guess who delivered first....

CHEYENNE! And that folks is why you will never find me in Vegas betting on anything! But oh my look at how STUNNING this little guy is!!! Yes he is a little boy.. SERGIO - and he appears to be a solid black donkey.. oh my just stunning!

I do hope that he stays this color, really wonderful - he also had no visible cross or stripes of any kind. Now that can change as he gets a bit older.. but WOW if he stays like this... like his Daddy Black Jack - we are talking one hot stud in the future!

Macey is also now in the Momma pen - we think she may be in the next 24-48 hours, I think I may need a nap later in the day... 3 hours sleep last night, and another possible long night tonight! :0) But oh so worth the loss of sleep!

Now for my card today - I am going to cheat just a bit ok?
This is a sneak peek and a Method Monday tutorial card for Instyle Stamps.. I have written a long post with lots of photos on the Instyle blog - and I am just too tired to do it all again - so if you don't mind.. please click the link HERE to see all my info on how I made this 3-D swinging Cynthia Fairy card .. OH and if you like Cynthia ... isn't she just to precious? She will be available for sale in the Instyle store on August 28th!

July's InStyle Stamps Blog Hop!!

It is the last Friday of the month and that is time for the InStyle Stamps Blog Hop! And this month there are some really fun images to show off! A Fantasy Theme!!!

I was assigned a wonderful "Magical Unicorn"! I think I was given the unicorn.. cuz of my love of donkeys... they are close friends you know.. LOL

When I saw the unicorn I knew I wanted to do something different, something cute... little girl fun - well that brought me back around to the wonderful little gift box from Lauren Meaders and Papertrey Ink's template - perfect size for this "Magical Unicorn"! (these templates are sold for $5.00 each.. just and FYI)

Ok - so with a white unicorn there isn't a lot of coloring... but what I did do was with my Copics. I then cut him out so he would show and pop off the front of the little box. I also added three tiny Prima flowers with leaves and stickles centers.. a unicorn likes to play in pink flowers right?

The paper I used for the box is two sided - perfect as it is made to match! And I thought the castles and carriages were perfect for the unicorn. I inked all of the edges of the paper with a light green ink. And used the edge of one of my border punches to make a scalloped looking handle... ain't to sure how that turned out as it wasn't as scalloped as I would like, but oh well....

Here you can see the side of the box, and how the sides close it all together, I punched two Stampin Up Slits in the handle and ran a wide satin ribbon through to give it a bit more fun.

Now to the details of the blog hop.... On my side bar you will find all of my fellow InStyle team members - please hop around and visit them and see all the Fantasy fun they had with their projects - THEN Hop on over to the Instyle Blog ---- this is the important part - we both want to win a prize right??? Well if you pop over there and vote for me... then I win a prize... then leave a comment in the comment field of the blog hop post and you may be drawn to win a prize as well! Only kidding about voting for me.. vote for whoever project you honestly love most... but I will love you forever if you vote for me :0) LOL!
So again - InStyle DT members on my side bar - then InStyle Blog Hop Post - Vote and have a chance at winning that simple! Hope you have some fun hopping around and remember to a Magical Time!

HUGS and see you tomorrow for Donkey/Libbie Day!

Pam and Buster from InStyle go for a walk -

How cute are Pam and Buster from InStyle? I just love this image.. Buster has such a proud attitude.. LOL - all colored with my Copics.

My card started with a white card base. Then I found this wonderful pattern paper from Reminisce that is two sided... love both sides! perfect for Pam and Buster don't you think? I then found a piece of dark red card stock to use as mats for everything. I then sewed the edges of the pattern paper. Now I really wanted to do that fun random wavy sewing... I just don't do that well. I stress about getting it right... not that I sew perfect straight lines, but why do I have such a hard time doing wavy free sewing! LOL
I saw in my stash this thin satin ribbon that matched perfectly so I tied it around the one pattern with a knot. The sentiment is from Cloud 9 epoxy stickers - a wonderful sentiment for a dog lover - "Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole" SO TRUE! Especially when they unroll the toilet paper all over the house!

Now today is the InStyle Challenge - which is Travel.... I think this if you stretch a bit might qualify... maybe Pam and Buster are traveling? HA! Make sure to pop over and get an order in.. there is a free stamp the month of July!!!

Ok... now I need everyone in the world to think hard all together for me.... Hubby says he is going to start my craft room and our front porch this week!!! He is going to work on the supply list and measurements today!!!! OH I soooo want to get this done! I am trying to not pressure too much... well nag... but I am sooo excited!!

Hope you have something fun today and have some crafting time!

InStyle Pampering!

Hello - I crafted last night!!! Wow this illness I had really knocked me off my feet this week! Really was bad when I didn't even feel like crafting! But I am really feeling human now. And last night I had some fun with Lindsay from InStyle Stamps. I just love this image. It may be because my Mom is a hairdresser. Now I went a bit retro on this one this time... for some reason I had a flashback to the 70's and the beauty shop my mother worked at. I remember that long green shag carpet. The green chairs and hair dryers and the gold colored wall paper.
Lindsay is colored with my Copics, and high lighted with white gel pen. For my card I started with the green card stock, then found a piece of SEI pattern paper.. it has that vintage 70's feel to it don't you think? I cut a circle out of yellow card stock scrap and inked the edges. The brown band down the left side is a scrap of kraft paper. I punched it with a EK Success Swiss Cheese punch. The purple twill ribbon in lavender was perfect. I stacked up a bunch of felt flowers and leaves with jewelry spacers and mini brads.

The sentiment is one I got on clearance a while back. Hubby took a look at it and said.. cute but it needs some bling. Well ok, I found three lavender "blings" for the corner. :0)

I just love the Retro stamps from Instyle.. they can be so fun for cards for your girlfriends!

Well better get my day going - I have to fit 4 days of chores and to do list into today! HA! Probably wont get it all done.. cuz I plan on some time to start catching up on my blog reading, I feel like I have missed a year!

InStyle Thankful Thursday POST!

I am so excited! Today it is my turn to host the InStyle Blog - with a Thankful Thursday Sketch Post - I hope you like it -

For my sketch I went with lots of circles - Feel free to make these flowers, buttons or whatever fits with in the circle ;0)

Now for my card -
I just LOVE "MELANIE" she looks so carefree and just like she is enjoying life!

And for some reason Melanie just seemed to be a pink and green girl today - Green card stock base, with a shiny gemstone pink cardstock. The two pattern papers are from GCD Cloisonne collection. Really gorgeous colors in this collection, and perfect for Melanie.

My large circle with the image is cut with my Nesties, and a scalloped green card stock mat. I doodled the edges of the circle and white gel pen dotted the scallops. For my three smaller circles I went with three large white prima flowers with button centers, tied with white twine. The band across the bottom of the sketch could be a ribbon, more pattern paper but for this one I don't know why but the Martha Stewart picket fence border punch seemed to work well... I sewed everything down with pink thread and my sewing machine.

Please take time to pop over to the InStyle Blog and see other DT cards using my sketch and do give it a try yourself!

HUGS - and hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

InStyle Method Monday - Embossing with what you have!

Hello again all! I apologize to those that don't like more than one notice in a day for post -but today was just one of those days where I had lots of business to take care of... not normal.

Today it is my turn to share a Method Monday technique on the InStyle Stamps DT Blog - and you know if you look back at all of the wonderful past Method Monday post it is getting really tough to come up with new stuff to show off! There are some GREAT ideas and inspirations there!

For my "method" today I went back to something I use to do all the time, before I had the goal of owning every embossing folder made that is... use what I have - make do with the supplies I already own. And you know sometimes that makes a better, and different project that I am more proud of!

For all the details on this tutorial please visit my post on the InStyle blog HERE

This tutorial shows how to use punches and die cuts to make your own embossed card stock. Like the stars on my patriotic card with InStyles Stamps Retro Stamp DEB -

I just love Deb... I know you could make her be anything on any type of card - but every time I see her I think of a 1940's USO girl - and then I hear that music and bands in my head. Love it!

Again I do hope you will visit the Instyle Blog to see all the details of how I made this card - it was really alot of fun to put together!

HUGS and have a great Monday afternoon!

YEE HAW!! It is a Western InStyle Stamps Blog HOP!

Last Friday of the month and that means it is the InStyle Stamps Blog Hop!! And a new stamp release! This month we are going western baby! I love western stamps! Not that I am a cowboy or anything.. my donkeys ain't for riding they are for hugging! :0)

So for my Yea Haw western item I got a chance to use one of the Anime Collection - a real treat for me, cuz I normally only work with the Retro line - I just adore those eyes in the Anime people.

This is TOMMY - is he adorable or what!!! I colored him with my Copics - I just had so much fun with that cowboy hat - I shouldn't tell you what we call a hat like that around here. A dusty, dirty, grimy well loved straw hat - is you "Go to heck Hat" ( subbed a word there for public viewing ) ... meaning you don't care what anyone thinks of it - you love it and you keep on wearing it! I tried to capture that feeling when coloring his hat here - LOL I also put just a dot of Dimentional Glaze on his eyes.. in the photo here is is shining back a bit and looks a little odd, but in person it is really cool!!

I found some perfect papers in my stash to go with Tommy - A Daisy D's western cowboy paper and a denim paper. The cream card stock is a white wash card stock from Core'dinations. Then in my scraps I found the gingham red paper and the bandanna paper! Just tooooo perfect! YEE HAW!
So Tommy was cut out with my Nesties - then a large circle out of the denim paper. And I just had to do some doodling around the edge. I created a band out of the red papers - and then gel pen stitched the edge of the western paper. Do you love that zig zag border around that??? It is my New EK Success embossing border punch! I just laid it out to create a mat around the paper - I sanded the core'dinations paper a bit to show the embossed stitching - really is a cool look in person but hard to capture in my photos-
I did a bit on the inside of the card - just a few scraps inside and then one of my all time favorite sentiments -

"Sending you a big ol' Texas hug!" I love this stamp - I purchased it at a local stamping store - to perfect for me huh?
Now to the details of the blog hop.... On my side bar you will find all of my fellow InStyle team members - please hop around and visit them and see all the cowboy/cowgirl fun they had with their projects - THEN Hop on over to the Instyle Blog ---- this is the important part - we both want to win a prize right??? Well if you pop over there and vote for me... then I win a prize... then leave a comment in the comment field of the blog hop post and you may be drawn to win a prize as well! Only kidding about voting for me.. vote for whoever's project you honestly love most... but I will love you forever if you vote for me :0) LOL!
So again - InStyle DT members on my side bar - then InStyle Blog Hop Post - Vote and have a chance at winning that simple! Hope you have some fun hopping around and remember to scream Yee Haw while doing it!
HUGS and see you tomorrow for Donkey/Libbie Day!

InStyle Happy Fathers Day -

Why is it that "men" cards freak us all out so much - I really stress and stare at these cards for a lot longer than I do any of my frilly - flowery - bling - cards. It just hurts sometimes to not do more. But most men in my life just do not understand or like all the layers and fluff. So for this Father's Day card I decided to keep it very simple with very little as embellishments and layers. It hurt.. yes, but I think it turned out ok -

This is InStyle Stamps "Stan" - isn't he just a handsome cool guy? LOL But Stan has some good news with him... HE IS ON SALE! And we all love sales, pop over to InStyle Stamps and see there are other images on sale this month too!

So Stan here is colored with Copics, I decided that I would use all Papertrey Ink card stock and matching pattern paper, love the colors - good think they were side by side in the pack cuz I don't know that I would have purposely put them together and I really like them together. The dotted band across the bottom is pattern paper from Papertrey as well - looks like a ribbon here in the photo.

I cut out the "Happy Father's Day" with my Slice and the new Words and Expressions cartridge. I high lighted the edges of the words with the new Smooch moonlight. Then also doodled the edges. It was so hard to stop - I could see a flower, or some bright bling... but now I forced myself to stop :0)
Hope you will check out the other stamps and that Stan made you smile -
Today is MIL shopping day. For those that are new to my blog... once a week I take my MIL out to run her errands and try and throw a few of my own into the list. We hit everything from the Mall - to the bank, post office - Target - and of course craft shops! Then end up at the grocery store before heading home. So I better get my day going and get ready - she has a really long list today and we need to be home at a decent hour today as we are suppose to go to dinner with our new neighbor tonight.
Have a great Thursday!

InStyle Beach Blog Hop!

It is time for the InStyle Blog Hop! And today we have gone to the beach! yes this months new images are all ready for the warm weather and have gone to the beach to cool off!

My project was something new for me... I used my Bind it All and made an acrylic mini album for a Spring Break memory album... man was I scared to punch those holes but the BIA just went right through!!

I colored up "Beach Dude" and "Surfer Girl" with my Copics and then cut them out with my Fiskar's kraft knife. I just could leave Beach Dude's swim trunks plain... ha I used a mini flower stamp and gave him some beach flowers! Hubby thought I was nuts laughing when I did this!
I used mini brads to make her sunglasses look like mirrored glasses.. hmm don't know if that ended up working.. LOL But oh well... they are domed mirror glasses!
The words are cut out with my MM Slice - the beach pattern paper is attached on the inside of the acrylic as is the Spring Break 09.. my good looking couple are attached on the front of the acrylic - it is so hard to tell by the photos.. but in person they really look as if they are standing out and the beach is in the background -

I tied a bunch of orange and white and red and white gingham ribbon on the wire binding for some fun. I kept this simple... I wanted to add more but just loved how real it all looked. So I stopped. The inside has card stock inside to use a journal or add photos - I may decorate the inside or leave that to the person I give it to...

Ok now to the HOP info....

There are prizes again this month!!
You can visit each of the DT and see their work ( you can find every one's name on my side bar under the InStyle logo), then go to the InStyle Stamps Blog HERE you will be able to vote for which ever project you like the most... this would be where you vote for my Acrylic Album... LOL This is how the one of the DT can win - whoever gets the most votes wins... now for you to win...
Just leave a comment in the comment field and then a random name will win a GRAND PRIZE this month! But you need to do it soon.. at 11:59pm EST on Saturday, May 30th to voting ends!
Then the winners will be announced on Monday, June 1st when we do the month in review post.
Have fun hopping from beach to beach - and don't forget to vote for me.. ahem I mean vote for your favorite.. that way we can both win a prize :0)

InStyle Wednesday Challenge

Hi! I got a chance to play again this week for the InStyle Blog Wednesday challenge! And this week it is Birthdays! LOL it seems like all the challenges are needing some birthday cards! But hey I always need more b-day cards! And for my card this week I chose to use the InStyle Retro image Dan and Mandy I love how universal this image is! And heck they are eating ice cream so that is just a bonus!

I colored up my image with my Copics and then doodled around it - then matted on a scrap piece of dark orange paper. Now I knew I wanted to use my Cuttlebug embossing folder for this card - been forever since I have pulled it out and used it, so I dusted it off and ran a piece of yellow core-dination card stock thru it. Then very very lightly sanded it. I found a piece of Cloud 9 pattern paper that had all the same colors I was using - love that!

I made a border with the Martha Stewart Double dot scallop punch - now I at first had the punch on the edge of the card - and at the last minute before sticking it down I flipped it - Seemed to really work better in the center. I added the green ribbon as a band and then the yellow embossed paper just seemed huge! So I found an orange ribbon to place as a center band, was just going ribbon wild! LOL...

Then those flowers.. love those Prima's! I added the white gel pen stitching to them, but love how they have shape to them. Punched out some Martha frond leaves and added a couple of buttons! Ta Da! It all came together really quick!

Do jump on over and check out the InStyle Challenge... great prize of cool digital images!

InStyle Method Monday - My Gidget Quilted Journal

Hello and Happy Monday - Today was my day to post on the InStyle Stamps Blog - for Method Monday - I chose to show how I make quilted pieces for projects - I made a journal. But the technique can be used for anything from cards to boxes to journals!

I love making journals - I have seen on blogs, and galleries these “quilted” papers - I really love the look and sat down to figure out how they did it, don’t know for sure how they did it, but I figured out a way for me- it really is simple and in person a really cool look -

If you would like all the details and how to make quilted pieces for your project all the info can be found on the InStyle Blog HERE and if you love the image I used today, this is Gidget from InStyle Stamps and you can see here HERE -

Hope you like my journal - what do you think of the quilted look? Pretty cool or not?

Have a great Monday!

A InStyle Wed. Challenge - PolkaDots for Mom

InStyle Stamps is having a Polka-Dot Mother's Day Challenge - Well we all need Mother's Day cards right now and I love Polka-Dots! So I just had to join in...

Now Darla doesn't look like the typical Mother's Day image does she? But with my idea she was perfect! I think she is so cute, I dress like this when I dust too... LOL!

Here is my card - it doesn't open, it is a pocket card. I took a blank 5x7 card and cut the top of the front of the card and then sealed the bottom and one open side. I decorated with My Minds Eye Laundry Line dotted paper, love this paper has a glitter shimmer to it. I also added a satin dot ribbon from American Crafts across the front, with a EK Success punched Retro flower, button and I made a label that said Happy Mother's day that I cut the edges with the Stampin Up word window punch.. wasn't easy.. need to practice that! I messed the first one up when it slipped and I punched through the words... (remember this was a label so it was already skinny LOL) I then punched two holes through one corder and added a ribbon pull.

Here is the pull out - I took a scrap piece of chip board, covered it with larger dots from the same paper collection but has that same glitter! I cut the corners with my Fiskar's corner rounder. I attached the image to the piece of card stock that I had cut from the base, rounded the corners of them as well. I doodled around as well. Then I made labels for my words "Good For One House Cleaning... No questions... No complaining" Now of course this isn't the card I am giving to my Mom or MIL .. heck MIL's house is much cleaner than mine - and as much as my Mom would love this card - I have my own house to keep up with LOL! No this was just an idea - I use to make cards when I was a kid (ha remember those construction paper cards... ) that had "coupons" in them for my parents as gifts. Some times they took me up on the job sometimes they didn't... was hoping my Dad didn't that time I gave him one to wash his car... but he did! And that Buick was huge!! LOL No I did this more for ideas for others.. they are really different and lots of fun for the kids - and well ... it gave me a chance to use my Darla image! If you haven't taken a look at all the fun Retro images from InStyle... take a moment to do so HERE they are really fun!

Well still on Donkey watch here.. Hubby has put me on lock down - someone needs to stay here at all times (especially since one is Vicki who lost her last baby) so no running around or errands.. both Vicki and Lacey are really miserable and I think ready to get these babies out standing on their own feet!

Have a great Wednesday -

We are InStyle for another BLOG HOP!

Yes it is time again for another InStyle Blog Hop!! And this week the DT have been "contained"!! We were all asked to make some sort of container... but before that here are the details about the Blog Hop -

Chatting will start on the InStyle Stamps forum at 11:30am EST, and will stay open until 11pm EST (or as long as people want to chat). Link for the forum:http://instylestamps.com/forum/

And here are the other important details :0)

1. The blog hop will run from 12pm EST to 11pm EST on the ISS forum (see link above). There will be mini contests with prizes throughout the day on the blog hop thread on the forum.

2. If you could please visit the ISS blog to vote for their favorite DT project, the designer of the project with the most votes will win a prize. No pressure to vote for me... but I would just love to win!! LOL

3. After you vote, they will need to leave a comment on the ISS blog post with the poll on it in order to be entered to win the grand prize for the customers. Yes, this is where you get the chance to win... and we love prizes that say GRAND PRIZE... and I would love for it to be YOU.. one of my readers ;0) The polling system we use doesn't keep track of who did the voting, so if they don't post a comment, they won't be in the drawing. (it really isn't complicated, you'll see when you get there)

4. The contest will remain open until 11:59pm EST on Saturday, April 25th, and that the winners will be announced on Sunday, April 26th.

Here's the links to all of the DT, the blog and the main website:

Now for my Container.. (that you are going to run over to the ISS site and vote for wink wink LOL)

I really didn't know what I wanted to do... I was going back and forth on a few things.. then everything just came together... First I found the cute white enamel bucket/basket - on sale! And the very next place I found this adorable bath set.. on sale too! And the wording on the bath set were just perfect for one of my favorite ISS images - Sheree !
I colored her with my copics and LOTS of Stickles for bubbles! Cut it out with my Nestibilities inked the edges. I ran one piece of pattern paper across the bucket, and then put the oval on as well. My flowers are white flowers that I colored with my Air Compressor and my Copics. Love that they can match so well that way. I added a sentiment of "ENJOY" with my label maker, and a ribbon that matched to perfectly with my colors.
A close up of Sheree...

A close up of the goodies... A bottle of Vanilla lotion, two fun packages of bubble bath, a envelope of bath salts and of course a little rubber duckie!
Look how fun the packages are of the bubble bath... they are made to hang - I forgot to take a photo of the bath salts... it reads "Women are like tea bags they don't know how strong they are until they get into Hot Water" I love that! May have to use that on a card one day!
Ok that is my container... I do really hope you will join in on the HOP.. and follow all the links to see the other DT creations... and if you happen to vote for me... THANKS!!!

Cheers!!

Today I toast you! Cheers! This is Marti from InStyle Stamps - isn't she pretty! When I first saw her I couldn't figure out how to use her - I don't drink so the ideas were just not there. Then I thought well she could be toasting with anything - so my Marti is drinking lemon aid with a cherry LOL :0) and I think she is a great congratulations card!
I colored her with my Copics and then gave her dress a light coat of Shimmerz Candle Light paint. Love that stuff! She is then cut out with my Nestibilities Oval, then stitched around the edge with the green Spica Glitter pen. And the sentiment is from my Label maker - that thing was so worth buying!

My card is Bazzill Bling card stock more shine, both the green and the grey! I didn't want a lot of patterns so I found one piece of K&Company paper that matched perfect, and yes.. more bling and shine! Gel Pen stitching around the outer edge, a simple grey satin ribbon border at the bottom, then I cut apart a flower from my stash and stacked it to place on the corner of the card - and yes.. the glitter tips were part of the flower and ands even more sparkle! A button center and done!
You can find Marti - HERE And make sure to look at all of the new images that have been added! Oh my there are some really cute one! Also many favorites have been added to the digital list - fast and you can color up so much sooner! OH OH including some digital papers! If you happen to make a purchase... mention that MichelleO sent you please... :0)
Well I have to go and finish a project I am working on.. big post tomorrow! Hope you will be back then!

A Sneak Peek of LUCY.. from InStyle Stamps

I don't know why but as soon as I saw Lucy, InStyle Stamps.. I thought of her in a gold formal gown. Pregnant Ladies dress up too ya know, and I just think Lucy is RADIANT!!

I colored Lucy with my Copics, except her dress and hairband... that is Shimmerz - that stuff is just too cool! Really makes her dress look like a silky gold dress - I cut her out with my Nestibilities oval, then doodled the edge.
Now for my card... she is dressed in gold so I thought the card needed to be more "rich" not the traditional colors for a mother to be, you know pastels. I used a black card stock as the base, and the pattern papers are all Graphic 45 - oh these papers are so heavy and rich in color. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the bottom, you can't see it in the photo, but that yellow paper is opalescent, it shimmers too! I have no idea where I got that but it looks cool. The flower and leaf are from my stash and have gold on them as well, with a vintage black button center. My sentiment is computer generated.

Now when I showed it to Hubby when done he said it was just weird. Weird?? I kind of liked that it was different - I don't know maybe I am way off - what do you think? Maybe I should have stuck with pastels....

Well I do hope you like Lucy... there are more releases today at InStyle Stamps - so pop on over and take a look - I know I have an order to place :)

Have a great Wednesday -
