It's Lookbook time.

I can't believe it is November already, where has this year gone? And even more surprised that the fourth edition of the fabulous Lookbook from Sarah Hurley and I thought I would show you some of my creations. I ventured out of my comfort zone of cards quite a few times in this issue and you will see that from this post.

I decided to look out all the lovely Martha Stewart paints that have been hiding in my craft room and make something completely different.  I bought door hanger blanks ages ago and they have been lying unloved, time to change that.  As the Lookbook is an Autumnal themed one, I thought I would make it slightly Halloweeny, though this can be used at all times, if you are anything at all like me ;)

I painted it with Arrowhead, then Silver.  I stamped the "Keep Out" and "Casting Spells" using Block Alpha Stamps, the "Beware" and the skull came from Angelica Strange Stamps and Malcolm Strange Stamps. To add some texture, I masked off the words using a post it note and  used Sarah's Crackle Background Stamp. I added a skull and crossbones die cut, which I cut from Black Magic Co'redinations and scrunched it up, then sanded it to reveal a wee glimpse of orange.

Ingredients
Martha Stewart Paints
Door hanger blank
Archival Ink
Skull die
Co'redinations Black Magic

I am sure you will agree this is different for me, and hubby has claimed it already for his tool cupboard!!

I hope you love the new Lookbook as much as I do, and enjoy having a look through it.

I would like to enter it into the following challenges;

CD Case with a difference.

Hi, I thought I would share another project I made for the Sarah Hurley Lookbook 3.  This time I came out of my comfort zone and chose to alter something, and used a background from  Journaled 365, Journal Basics and a stamp from the fabulous Odds and End stamp set.

There are a few pictures, and I will explain as I go.

I took a blank CD and CD case, and made them "retro" using the Cassette stamp from the Odds and Ends set.  I used lots of different colours of Memento ink pads to make it really bright and funky.

I stamped the CD too, to make it match the CD case.

I printed out a paper from the Journaled 365 digi kit, and to make it even more vivid I printed it onto photo paper and it looks amazing.
It is truly inky fun, without all the mess which suits me fine *happy face*

Ingredients
Journaled 365 - Journaled Basics by Sarah Hurley
Odds & Ends Stamp Set by Sarah Hurley
Memento Ink Pads
Photo paper, CD Case and CD from stash.

It is a great way to personalise gifts, or update the old "Mix Tape" and bring it right up to date.

I hope this inspires you to try something different in your craft room.

Shades of blue.

Is the theme over at the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog this month, and I am always amazed at how many different creations we come up with for a theme, but especially when it is a monochrome one.

I chose to make a card using different blue papers, and made my theme the sky.  I took the gingham paper from Oz, and made it my base layer. Used some gorgeous polka dot papers from Secret Rose Garden and die cut them to be wee hot air balloons, this is one of my favourite dies as it makes me think of floating away to Oz. My sentiment "Enjoy the Journey" comes from the Expedition kit.  I also managed to play with this months A Few of My Favourite Things Kit, which is full of gorgeous cloudy papers, bright coloured papers, journalling cards and stamps. I used one of the stamps on my cloud die cut, and I love the result.

Moustache you a question?

Are you as crazy about the moustache trend as I am? I adore them and can't get enough of them.  You can imagine how delighted I was when Sarah Hurley added moustache stamps to the range.  Last months "A Few of my Favourite Things" kit was simply fan"tash"tic :D, it was packed full of moustache papers, embellishments and this fab sentiment and a moustache stamp. I also have the Odds & Ends Stamp Set which is choc full of yummy stamps.  I decided to make my own backing paper using the 'tash stamp and popped the sentiment onto some 1mm foam to give the card dimension.

Ingredients
Moustache Stamp & Sentiment - Sarah Hurley, A Few of My Favourite Things Kit
Memento Ink and pen
Silver paper from The Papeterie.

This week is a very exciting week for us all, as the third edition of LookBook goes live and it will be full of inspiration to get you making beautiful things using Sarahs amazing ranges.

Exciting times.

Hello again,

Very exciting day for us members of the Sarah Hurley DT, as the second edition of the Lookbook went live this morning.  There has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes, and now I can start to show you my creations for this issue.

First of all I will show you a Christmas card I made using papers from the Tinseltown Digi Kit.  The options are endless, and I chose to make a green themed card.  I used a snowfall paper as my base layer and the petal dot as the bauble paper.  I embossed a sheet of white pearlised card with a Sizzix folder to carry on the snow theme. The dies are from Memory Box.  I had to add some bling onto the baubles, just to make it twinkle.  The sentiment is also from the kit.

 Ingredients
Memory Box Die
Sizzix embossing folder
Silver ribbon, twine, gems and pearls from stash.

I hope you enjoy the Lookbook as much as we enjoyed making things for it.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges;
Guylou's Inimitability - Let it snow.
Raise the Bar - Let it Snow
