The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #192 - H is for Hormonal

Poor Edna, I feel for her, I really do!

It's all about HORMONES this fortnight over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. Love 'em or hate 'em we are all subject to whims of our body's chemical messengers.

I dug out a couple of VLVS stamps for this challenge and paired them with an off-centre glittery frame and a gell print background for a little menopausal fun.

I'm also delighted to be linking to the current challenge over at Lost Coast - Face On.

This is a great challenge site and really doesn't get the recognition I think it deserves.

The Sisters are playing H is for Hormonal for the next two weeks and would love you to come and join us!

Let's squash It! Challenge #11 - Not Paper, Not Card...

Greeting to all you Squashettes, it's time for another fabulous theme over at Let's Squash It! Central where we challenge you to emboss something other than paper or card!

Gail has really gone to town on this theme and there is an awesome inspiration post available here to get your mojo moving.

Here's my first card for this theme. I was very excited to upcycle some plastic packaging from a die set. Do watch your hands if you are cutting plastic packaging - it's surprisingly sharp!

I started with a Gelli Plate background and then added some heat embossed flower images in copper, which I think are from Lavinia Stamps: the packaging went AWOL years ago!    I then embossed the packaging with Altenew Flowery Field 3D embossing folder. I assembled the card with 'hinges' so that the plastic was folded neatly behind the cardstock. I  adhered the resulting 'package' to my base card.

It certainly has an unusual look to it! I think the idea needs some finessing, but as a first attempt I didn't think this was too bad.

We have a brilliant guest with us this month and I know you'll love her card. Gail, as always, has me in awe of her creativity, so please head on over and take a look! We all hope you'll feel inspired to join the fun and play along.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - Challenge #121 - F is for F Words

We have another super-fun challenge on offer for the next fortnight over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. We are all about the letter 'F' and my goodness, what Fun we've been having!

I went with F is for Feline for my make. I know, I know...

I love this sweet set from My Favorite Things - Mini Meows. The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp set called You Matter. I sent this card to congratulate my friends on the arrival of their new baby. It was fun to make.

Hope you'll come and play along with the sistahs, and our very special guest, Queen Beverly.

The Christmas Kickstart Challenge #53 - Photo - Inspiration

It's Challenge #53 at Christmas Kickstart.

We have a fabulous new elf to inspire us with her creativity this month and we're welcoming my crafting buddy Hilary from Fiddling About.

For this month we're taking our 'theme' from this gorgeous photograph.

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #53 - Photo-Inspiration

There's so much loveliness going on here that you have to study the picture for a couple of minutes to take it all in.

My first attempt was this card:

I wasn't 100% happy with this one, so dug out this lovely layered wreath from Pink Fresh and felt a little happier with card #2. The wreath die I used doesn't seem to be available, but this one might be similar enough to do the job!

I had to hand dye a considerable number of tiny pop-poms to make these cards. Thank goodness for Distress Inks.

Here's Rudolph with his Random Raffle Prize for this challenge. There are some lovely images in this set.

I very much hope you'll head over to Christmas Kickstart to see Hilary's lovely card and to join fun. Can't wait to see how YOU are inspired by this stunning picture.
