The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #190 - C is for Colourful

There's a brand new challenge over at The Sisterhood and we're so excited to be playing C is for Colourful for the next two weeks!

Hands up if you want a dress like Edna's? Tie dye is sooooooooooooo in again right now.

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to have a little win over at Lost Coast Designs. I requested this gorgeous image as my prize.

I had so much fun stenciling, colouring these gals and adding that lovely, snarky Picket Fence sentiment.

We have a great guest, and the team have created some fabulous cards for this theme. Hope you'll come and play along!

Let's Squash It - More Inspiration for Challenge #10

Hi, I'm over on the blog at Let's Squash It! today with just a little more inspiration to hopefully tempt you to play along with us for Challenge #10 - Shimmer and Shine.

I'm currently more than a little obsessed with heat embossing my dry embossed panels.

Paisley - Sizzix Embossing Folder

I started by embossing a piece of watercolour paper and colouring it with plenty of water and Distress Inks. When it was nice and dry I swiped my Versamark pad across it and then heat embossed with Altenew Crisp Embossing Powder Translucent Pearl.

It's really hard to capture the sparkle, but hopefully you can see it on this angled shot of the card.

This really is an easy technique and gives a great twinkly finish to your cards.

There's still a week to run for this challenge, so we very much hope you'll get your card super sparkly and come join  the fun!

It's Reminder Time at Christmas Kickstart...

It's reminder time over at Christmas Kickstart! Our elf for July is my brilliant crafting bud, Gail from Crafty Nomad, and we're playing:

Challenge #52 - Woolly or Fluffy or Furry!

Here's my card inspired by Gail's card. I was so taken by Gail's use of green for her inspiration piece. My original plan was to copy the kitty and tree, but it just didn't work as a design as the tree dominated the whole card and looked really dull. I started again, added a second kitten and 'bingo', I liked the design. The green bulb from Gail's card appears in my card too!

I really wanted to try my hand at Gail's green background. Gail used green Archival Ink, but I had to opt for Distress Ink instead. In all honesty, it looks nowhere near as good as Gail's base layer, but I quite like how it turned out. I used linen card and the inking really accentuated the linen weave. I just wish I'd managed to find a more festive green ink in my stash.

If you haven't already guessed it the images on this card all come from MFT, but can you work out which stamp sets I've used???

As always, Rudolph has done us proud with his Random Raffle prize for our challenge!

July is a great time to start your Christmas cards, so we very much hope you'll come and play along!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #189 - X is Xposed

Nobody, just nobody makes graphics like our fabulously talented Sistah Lee. Who knew that underneath that dowdy exterior Edna is smokin' hot.

We're having a riot over at the Sisterhood with our new theme X is for Xposed, and we'd love you to come and play along.

I went simple and straightforward with my card and used AI set Get Well Soon. Don't you just love his socks?

We have a fabulous guest and some brilliantly snarky cards for my very talented teamies, so please come and join the fun!

Let's Squash It! Challenge #10 - Simmer and Shine

If you love a little shimmer and shine on your cards then we definitely have THE challenge for you this month over at Let's Squash It!

My card utilises one of the panels that I made for our July Technique Time post here.

I really love this folder which is called Stained Glass by Kaisercraft. I love both the front and the reverse of the embossed panel, so decided to create a card which featured them both. The '25' in a bauble is from a Thinlets Die Cut set by TH.

I think the copper embossing looks good against the blue cardstock.

We have a new Empress to inspire you, so why not head on over and take a look!

Christmas Kickstart #52 - Woolly or Fluffy or Furry.

Welcome craft fans, it's time for  Christmas Kickstart Challenge #52! It's hard to believe that we've passed the mid-point of the year - it's all downhill to Christmas now!

Today, I'm welcoming back my dear crafting buddy Gail from Crafty Nomad as our elf. Thanks for being our elfin inspiration again, Gail, it's always good to have you leading the fun!

Our theme is a fun one:
Challenge #52 - Woolly or Fluffy or Furry!

We'd like to see anything fluffy, furry or woolly on your Christmas cards and can't wait to see how YOU interpret this challenge!

I went with 'woolly' for my card using a very sweet stamp set from Lawn Fawn called Baaah Humbug!

I had waaaay too much fun making this card. I used something called Liquid Applique to make my sheep look woolly. It's a strange product, but gave a great effect. It comes in a tube and looks rather gloopy and unpromising when you first put it on, but add heat and the magic starts to happen!

For my second card I stayed with the flock and produced this cheeky sheep using a Clearly Besotted set which is also called Baa Humbug!

All that grass has clearly being playing havoc with this little one's digestive system!

As always, Rudolph has done us proud with his Random Raffle prize!

Gail and I very much hope you'll come and join the fun. If you've not yet started making your Christmas cards, what are you waiting for? Christmas is coming...

Hello and welcome, it's time for the June 2021 Card Chain Challenge Reveal!

We had 24 participants who exchanged cards across the globe this month, raising our total number of cards exchanged thus far by Card Chain Challenge participants to 3,363!

All the cards exchanged this month used at least one of the following options:

Colour Palette Option

(Exact matching is not required.)

Sketch Option

(Orient as desired.)

Theme Options: Things That Fly / Rainbows/ Friendship

Product / Technique Options: Stencils / Stitching (real or f
aux)

My card has gone to the lovely Dee in Kenya this month. It has a long way to travel!

I got smooshy with the colour palette to create a Distress Ink background and then added a Jane's Doodles sentiment, and a butterfly. I can't find the packaging for the butterfly, so am not sure of the maker.

My sender for this month was Hilary in the UK, so it was a much shorter journey for her sweet card to reach me! Isn't it a beauty? I love how she used the sketch and the colours.

If you want to join in the fun, you still have a few days to catch the sign up for the July Card Chain Challenge until 6th July. All cards exchanged will be revealed at the CCC blog on 2nd August, 2021.

The August Card Chain Challenge sign-up begins on 7th July, so why not come and play along???
