Let's Squash It! Challenge #4 - Inspiration

Hi there, there's still a few days left until the end of the month to play at Let's Squash It!

We're looking for an animal to accompany your embossing folder(s) this month and I couldn't resist using this fabulous cat from AALL and Create for my card.

The embossing folder is from Darice and, somewhat unsurprisingly, it's called Frame. I tried to find a link, but I think it's only available on Amazon as it's an oldie. I searched my stash and found this lovely spotted card. It's white on the other side so works perfectly as a single layer. I wanted to go bright, bright, bright for this card and I think I succeeded.

You can find the current challenge here, and we'd love you to play along!

I'm also playing along with the lovely folk over at Shopping Our Stash. Their current challenge is I Need a Cup of Coffee.

Stay safe, folks!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #177 - G is for Glitter

Just look how fabulously sparkly Edna's looking for the new challenge over at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Yes, love it or loathe it, we're all about GLITTER for the next two weeks.

I was a little bit stumped at first until I went for a wander around Pinterest and found a funny meme to point me in the right direction.

The wine glass is from an older set from Jane's Doodles called Cheers; it's no longer available but if you click on the link you'll find something similar in her store.

My next card features a MFT sentiment paired with stenciled bokeh and some glitter dots I was gifted by a crafting buddy. This card is a riot of sparkle as the embossing powder is glittery too!

The sisters have created some brilliant, glitterful and snarkilicious cards, so please come and join the fun!

There's Gnomebody Like You!

Just look who got inked up to  join the current fun at Lost Coast Designs! I do love this fabulous fellah from Jane's Doodles.

I smooshed Distress Inks on watercolour card for a quick and easy background, then added the gnome image and some washi tape, and called it job done!

I just noticed this over at LCD; sounds like a great offer! And they have the cutest gnomes in the shop.

Stay safe and keep crafting!

Less is More

I was delighted to see the first theme of 2021 at LIM was Fashion and Accessories and knew immediately which stamp I wanted to ink up.

Isn't this one a beaut? I've had it for ages. It's from Inkadinkado and I believe it's called My Mother's Dress, although I've seen it listed under other names too. Unfortunately, it's no longer available anywhere that I can find.

It's a while since I last used this stamp so I thought I'd bring things right up to date by using the Pantone Colours of 2021 and smooshy watercolouring.

The sentiment is from a Unity Grab bag and I love how well the image and the font style match. The embossing folder is from Crafts Too.

The LIM gallery and DT inspiration cards are a delight, so I'm grabbing a coffee and heading over to take a look! Take care and stay safe!

Something beginning with B... Last day!

Here I am, as promised, with my final card for Challenge #113 over at Lost Coast.

I had heaps of fun making this card!

This cute little guy is Strange Bird from Unity and the die cut is a beauty from Stamplorations. I'm sorry to say that the embossing folder, which is a lovely leaf pattern, is an oldie and I've lost the details.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing this little trio - I've had fun making and sharing them with you. Lost Coast is a lovely, inspiring challenge blog and deserves many more followers and entrants, so please head on over and take a look. There will be a new challenge starting very soon!

Take care and keep safe.

Something beginning with B... again.

Hi there, I'm back with my second card for the current Lost Coast Challenge.

Both of these stamps are from a Unity Grab Bag I was lucky enough to win a couple of years ago. I think they work rather well together. The background is a smooch of Distress Inks on watercolour paper. I recoloured the sweet bird and the hearts to make them stand out.

The challenge finishes tomorrow and I'll be back with my final card in the morning. Stay safe, peeps!

Something beginning with B...

The lovely folk over at Lost Coast have a fun challenge on offer: Challenge #113 - Something Beginning with B, so I thought I'd play along.

I've been wanting to break-out my Unity Stamps again and this seemed like the perfect theme as I knew I'd got some really cute birds stamps in my collection.

Turns out I have THREE gorgeous bird stamps by Unity, so here's the first image I used. This sweet little bird is by Angie Blom and is called Hey There... Wise Guy! I decided he'd look great as a robin. I'll be posting the other cards over the next few days.

The sentiment is from a Unity Grab bag and the background is a gorgeous Hero Arts Stamp that I've had for ages, but appears to be out of stock.

The gallery for this challenge is filling up nicely over at Lost Coast, so I'm going to grab a cuppa and take a look! Take care and keep safe.

Santa on the Roof

Hi there, today I'm playing at CAS Christmas as their theme is:

and also at Shopping Our Stash Challenge #436 where, unusually, the guys want to see something new!

My something new is this adorable die from Dixi Craft. I saw this card on Gail's blog and fell head over heals with Santa on the Roof.

The sentiment is from a set I've had for a while but always enjoy using: Mama Elephant: Puffy Holiday Greetings.

Hope you have a happy week, keep safe everyone!

Let's Squash It! - Challenge #4 Use an Embossing Folder and an Animal

It's the tenth of the month so it must be 'Happy New Squash It! Challenge' day!

I'd just like to point out that obviously we'd like to see an animal stamp, sticker, die-cut etc and NOT a real animal for this challenge. Just so we're clear on that.

For my animal I broke out a NBUS set called Peach and Piper from Picket Fence.  I used Darice embossing folder - Flowers as a background for the bunnies. The thanks sentiment has lost it's packaging but I think it's an oldie from Paper Smooches.

I'm entering this card at the lovely Darnell's NBUS Challenge #22.

Our challenge runs until the end of the month over at Let's Squash It! and both Gail and I hope you'll drop by and get squashy with us!

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #176 - A is for ATC

It's time for the first challenge of 2021 for The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!

We're starting the year with A is for ATC, and if you want some fabulous inspiration then you need look no further than Sister Lee's stunning graphic.

I have to admit that I struggled with this and made quite a few ATCs that ended in the waste paper bin. However, this one just about passes muster as it makes me laugh.

I enjoyed working with Art Impressions and Funny Bones Riley and Company stamps.

The sister have surpassed themselves for this challenge, so why not head on over and take a look!

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #46 - Such a Deer

It's time for Challenge #46 over at Christmas Kickstart. It's hard to believe that this is the third year I've run this challenge and I'm so grateful to everyone who drops by, offers encouragement and plays along. Thank you all.

To get this 2021 show on the road I'm delighted to be joined once again by my crafting partner in crime Gail from Crafty Nomad.

Our theme for this month, yes, we're going monthly for 2021, is:

Challenge #46 - Such a Deer!
You can see Gail's adorable card by heading here.

Here's what I made - don't you just love the expression on the face of this Stamping Bella Oddball Reindeer

My next card is very different:

I coloured a piece of kraft card with some white ink before adding some Sizzix goodies. The white wreath is cut from sparkly card and looks lovely IRL.

Rudolph wishes you all a very Happy New Year and is delighted to share his first Random Raffle Prize of 2021.

Why not head on over and join the fun! BTW, the challenge has now gone monthly so there's even longer to play along.

Card Chain Challenge - December 2020 Reveal

Hi there, it's time for another Card Chain Challenge Reveal.

Happy New Year to you all, let's hope that 2021 brings us all health and happiness, and lot's of cardmaking and crafting!

Just for a little bit of fun Gail created a Tic-Tac-Toe for our December Challenge.

I went for a diagonal 'sweep' across the grid, but was determined to still create a Christmas card so this is what I sent to Hilary in the UK.

I adapted this cute Gerda Steiner bee and attached him to a SSS die cut. Some clouds created with a homemade stencil and some hearts embossing finished the card.

My card from Gail is a beaut, but I'm yet to see it as it's still in transit.

Our January Challenge is open for a few days longer and then we'll move seamlessly into our February Challenge! Why not make 2021 the year you come and join the fun???
