Sunday Challenge - Animal Magic!

Hi everyone, Juliet here hoping you're having a sizzling weekend in this gorgeous weather.

This week's Sunday Challenge is all about animals (well we all love them don't we?), birdies or bugs. As usual use an image of Dottie, George or the Cats but you can use Dottie dressed as an animal (there are quite a few!), you could use animal backing papers or you could add a separate embellishment(s), as I have done with the little bug, the owl stamp and Dottie's cat.

I have used Knitting Dottie from the 'Dottie at Home' collection, Basic Grey papers, Prima flowers (all available from http://charmedcardsandcrafts.co.uk/ ), and I decoupaged Dottie's face, hair, cat, slippers and arms so her hands hold the knitting needles.

Nicola has used Leo Dottie from the 'Zodiac Collection'. She created the circular sentiment by following the tutorial at Charmed and the birds and swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder was brayered with Memento inks - how fab is that effect!!!
Louise used Dream Street papers for her card and the flowers are Prima orchids – all available from Charmed. She took the large centres out of the orchids to ensure the card would fit in the envelope and added some spotty brads instead. I love these papers and I adore this Dottie image which is from the 'Dress up Dottie' collection.

I hope you enjoy the challenge and as always we can't wait to see all your cards - don't forget to leave a link to your blog.

Happy crafting,
Juliet xx

On With the Challenge - DIY Dottie!

Ok, I admit it! I wasn't sure what to do with DIY Dottie and I wasn't sure I would enjoy playing with her, but you know what........I REALLY DID!!! Just goes to prove the point that ALL the images are so versatile. Dottie's clothes are paper pieced and the colouring was done with Prismacolours. I absolutely adore the new Prima embossed flowers - have a look in the Charmed shop for these!
I have already decided my next challenge is to use Chick Dottie from the 'Dress Up Dottie' collection. I think those Prima's may well appear again too.
I am so pleased so many of you are taking up this challenge too and it has been wonderful to see all your cards so far.......please keep them coming and get those images used up so we can pester Louise for more!!!
Have a great evening and TFL,

....if friends were flowers!!

Good Morning and welldone Juliet for your wonderful first post.
As I put the boat and sand bags out ready for the next bout of flooding it reminded me of summer and flowers!!
For this card I used an image from Dress up Dottie and the well known sentiment, which I love, I added using Word Art on the pc. I printed once on the Basic Grey paper and 3 times on plain paper, then I added one full Dottie, which I embellished with watercolour pens,Sakura Gelly roll clear glitter pen and holographic glitter for her Arum lillies she is holding. I then cut the whole head out of another piece of paper and then just the head dress removing Dotties face and added to the image giving a decoupage effect. I added faux stitching and base of flowers with an archival pen, then finished off with the metallic pink brads for the flowers.

Ballerina Birthday

Hello, only a few days till its June!! Wow! where has the time gone!
This card I made using a Dottie image from Dress up Dottie,I paper pieced her body & ballet shoes, then added my favourite Sakura Clear Gelly Roll glitter pen,I used Bloom Dots Cuttlebug folder for the oval embossed piece. Then I used Paper flowers for her tutu and around the edges to make a boarder, again using Sakura pen. I attached a Great Big Brad which I added a rub on to,also i used a rub on for the ribbon to say Happy Birthday. A very girly card and it really sparkles.

Customer Thursday

Good morning all and welcome to our first ever Customer Thursday. A day dedicated to one special Dottie/George customer that we happen to spot on our travels.

Who better to start the ball rolling than the oh so talented Adele AKA Dilliy Dally Dingle. She is a mega talented crafter and uses such imagination when using the Dottie Downloads. Take a look.... I simply adore this card, the colour scheme works so well. Adele is great at making Dottie look amazing!

What do you think of this one? Has your jaw dropped like mine did? I absolutely love this one to bits. Adele, you're are AMAZING!

If you'd like to see more of Adeles marvelous creations, drop by her blog. You won't be disappointed.

P.S Please bare with me, I'm not at all happy with the transparent background on this blog, it's making the images all faint. I need to find out if I can change it.
