Any Occasion Gift Bag

Good morning everyone.  It definitely feels like winter is here, which I guess it should be considering it's nearly December.  I'm not a winter person, much preferring milder temps, but thankfully we are still without the white stuff.  I've just about got all my 'snow' insurance complete.....meaning I have new winter boots, the snow blower is ready, and my car is getting it's snow tires installed.  I like to think that if I do all of these preparations, then the snow won't happen!  Sometimes it works.

As I'm basically now in hibernation mode, it does give me time for some crafting, and as it's also time for gift giving.....I thought I'd dress up another gift bag.  As you can see, I've used some Christmas colours and sparkle, but I've played with a non-Christmas image, so this can be used at any time for any occasion.

Here's a close up of the image....such a sweetie and coloured with copics.  A bit of liquid pearls for the jewels in her hair and necklace.

Supplies used:
Saturated Canary image -  Pricilla Pie
Spellbinders dies - Deckled Rectangles, Fleur de Lis Rectangles, and Fancy Framed Tags Two

Get ready for.....snow!

'Tis Friday night, and Christmas is coming.....but so is winter!  We might be seeing some snow tomorrow, but hopefully only flurries.  We've been spoiled so far, but soon I'll be looking forward to spring!  Tomorrow I'm headed to Toronto, with two of my daughters, where we will be taking in the One of a Kind Show.  Here's hoping I find lots of ideas for Christmas.

So, to get in the mood....how about another Christmas card.  This one uses the adorable Merry Christmas image from Just Inklined,  Even snowmen like to celebrate....and they don't have to shop!

This time I coloured in the background, which better defines the image, adding some glossy accents to the glasses and glamour dust to the snow.  I've cut and matted the image, using the Spellbinders Labels Two die, and created the fancy border with the Frostyville die from Memory box.

I tried something different with the sentiment....after stamping and heat embossing, I cut around it and then cut a backing in the red cardstock.  This really helps it to stand out.  A couple of MS punches for the snowflake and greenery, some peel-offs for the border, a few gems and a bit of Candi embellishment provide the finishing touches.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend....maybe some shopping, or perhaps just some time with family and friends.  Take care, and beware of those snowmen under the influence!  (lol)

Don't you just love it when you have your posting all ready to go, and then it disappears and you have to start all over again!!!  I guess it's going to be one of those days.  So today's post is my DT entry for the new challenge at Charisma, and this week it's to be a Colour Challenge.  With luck...you can find some crafty time and join in with us for a chance at some lovely prizes.

Here, I've made a birthday card for my sister-in-law who loves to shop, and this image from Bugaboo is just the ticket.  Once again I've coloured with copics, adding some glossy accents to her boots for a little bit of extra glam.  The fancy shoe stamp along the bottom of the card is an oldie from Stampin Up, and I think it fits the shopping theme perfectly!

Supplies used:
Image - Scarlette Shopping Diva
My Mind's Eye paper - Out of the Blue collection
Spellbinder's die - Romantic Rectangles
Memory Box die - Madera Corner
Other - Whimsy sentiment stamp, stickles, pop dots and bow

Birthday Flowers

What a beautiful day...it may be a bit nippy, but the sun is shining.  Heading out shortly to pick up a new addition!  My daughter is getting a new puppy...for her, not me.  I don't need those hassles right now.  Puppies are like grandchildren...absolutely wonderful, and so nice to visit...but the hassles belong to someone else!

Flowers are always a safe bet for a classic birthday card and this one, Batchelors Button, is no exception.  It's just one of the many elegant floral images from Just Inklined.which I have coloured up with copics and pro-markers.

Supplies used:
Spellbinders die - Labels Twenty Two
Echo Park 6x6 pad - Victoria Gardens
Charcoal grey cardstock, small flourish stamp, dragonfly brad, peel-off sentiment

Thanks for popping by, and hope you have a wonderful sunny day too!

For Someone Special

Good morning!  Just a quick post, as I'm off to the hairdresser's and then to a doctor's appointment...oh joy.  Soon, we'll be scrounging for gift bags for those hard to wrap little gifts, so I thought I'd best get started.  This one will be for Christmas, so I made sure to add some gold, but it can be re-used for any occasion.

I had some fun with a new Spellbinder die...Decorative Labels Eight, and I used the three larger dies of the set.  The largest one is worked on kraft paper, while the smaller one for the sentiment, I've edged in gold metallic.  I think this could become my favourite Spellbinder die....so far!

Using a flourish stamp and gold embossing powder, I've heat embossed a little festive shine.

And here's a close-up of the image, which I have coloured with copics.  This little treasure (Jules) is from Saturated Canary, isn't she a sweetie!

I hope I've given you some inspiration to make your own gift bags this year.  Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day!

Those Were the Days...

It's grey and overcast day today with a good possibility of rain, which rather fits my mood.  Tomorrow looks better, as the sun is supposed to shine with some nice mild temperatures.  I'm really looking forward to that!  Hopefully you too can have a nice sunny day this weekend.

Last night I made this card with my Dad in mind, as he used to play the violin back in his younger years.  His birthday is in January, so I'm well ahead of the game here.  The image is called Music Lover, another fine image from Just Inklined.  I've chosen to work with shades of brown, using some Prima papers from the Printery Collection and I've even distressed the edges.  No bling or sparkle today, just a few extra die cuts to add interest.  I really enjoy playing with these!

Dies used:
Spellbinders - Labels Twenty and Fancy Framed Tags Two
Whimsy - Corner Dies Set

I'm hoping to get more male cards done in the next little while, after discovering that my stock of these was sorely depleted.  Hope you enjoyed your visit.....and a have great weekend.

Feeling Blue at Charisma

Good morning fellow crafters!  It's going to be a nippy Thursday, but with luck it will be bright and sunny.  Hopefully you and yours can be warm and cozy.  So moving right along....today there's a new challenge at Charisma Cardz, and this week the theme is Feeling Blue.  Nice and easy, and we really look forward to seeing what what you can come up with.  Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's wonderful creations, for a good dose of inspiration!

I've gone with a sympathy card....one I hope I don't have to use, but it is always safer to have one on hand.  The image is a rubber stamp from Stämpelkällan, and once again I've coloured with copics.

After cutting it out, I cut a backing from black cardstock, leaving just a little bit to show around the edges.  It really helps the image pop against the pale blue background.  You will note that I cut the front of the card a little narrower than the back, which let me add a bit of embellishment to the inside edge.  I love this Romantic rectangles die from Spellbinders....it always adds that bit of elegance.

Now for our very generous sponsors, and the prizes you could win!

November Blog Hop at Just Inklined

Another Monday, and the start of a new week.  Although we can't do anything about the weather and the grey skies, hopefully we can brighten your day with this month's blog hop at Just Inklined.  This time around, Lori is our lovely hostess and she has chosen the theme...Lace and Handmade Flowers.  If you've arrived here from visiting with Karen L, then you are right on track, and I've listed the blog order below if you miss any of the stops.  And of course, be sure to leave comments along the way if you would like a chance of winning one of our spot prizes.

Today I've played with this adorable image...Lady of the Manor.  Very feminine, so perfectly suited to this month's theme.  The image is coloured with copics, while the rest of the card is stamped and shaded with distress ink.  I decided on paper lace and a dimensional flower cut out with my Silhouette.

Supplies used:
Spellbinders dies - Romantic Rectangles
Whimsy Stamps die - Vines
Impression Obsession - Ornate Floral stamp
Evergreen Bough distress ink
Sentiment stamp from Stampotique

I hope you enjoyed your visit, and next you will be visiting Gaynor to see what lovely creation she has to share.  Have fun and a wonderful day!

Thank You... for the Guys

...What would we do without them!  Hmmm, actually saw the sun for a wee bit today, but it didn't last long.  These gray skies have been hanging around far too long.  Perhaps we will get a peek for the weekend.

Looking through my cards the other day, I realized that they were nearly all for children or the feminine side.  Whoops!  I think I need to remedy that.  I figured I would start with some thank you cards, and a first for me.....I've made 3 at once.  No colouring today, just stamping and inking.  The animal images are from the North American Woods set (from Mark's Finest Papers), perfect for the guys, and I've used a tree image, called Silence (from Local King Rubber stamps) to make the background.  The images have been cut and matted using 3 different Spellbinders dies, and I've added a little interest with some metalic pens.  Nice and easy....and the first time I've made 3 cards in one day!

Thanks for visiting, and here's wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
