King of the Road

Here we go, with another fun image from Dr Digi's House of Stamps, titled Mobility Malcolm.  With the golden years fast approaching, perhaps we should start checking out some new wheels.  My younger brother likes to hit the road on a smart red motorcycle.  I'm thinking maybe this model and colour combo would be perfect when he has to trade up to four wheels.  We'll see what he says at his birthday.  lol

I've used a Kraft card today, that I purchased from Michaels.  As it isn't as heavy a card as I would have liked, I've added another layer in behind.  Once again I've coloured with copics, adding pan pastels for the yellow background.

The winds are howling outside, as I type this, but hopefully the weather man's forecast for better weather will come true.  Come on spring...  please!

Take care, and thanks for visiting.

Are you ready?

Ta dah!  I finally got down to my craft room to work on this week's DT card for Dr Digi's House of Stamps.  Today I've coloured up Gardening Gus with my copics.  Quite fitting for the upcoming season, which will be here soon....hopefully.  I could really use this guy's help at my house this year, so if you see him about, please give him the message!

You might notice, that even though it's a card for a guy....I've added a bit of ribbon and even a flower!  Wow!  Also remembered that I have a drawer full of punches, and put one to good use.  The sentiment is from a set from Mark's Finest Papers - North American Woods.  I thought it fit the theme perfectly.

Hope all is well with you.  I'm just waiting...and it will be a long one, for my hip replacement, and trying to find a comfortable way to sit.  Any suggestions or helpful hints would be much appreciated.

If you go down to the woods.....

I had a bit of fun with this one, using a well known children's song for inspiration.  Just a reminder....there could be bears in those woods, and even if they don't find you, the bugs and mosquitos will!  This is another wonderful image from Dr Digi's House of Stamps, and you can find her here.  I know some people are really into camping out....but that's so definitely not me!

Other supplies used:
Sentiment stamp - from Stämpelkällan
Bear stamp - from Mark's Finest Papers
Bo Bunny paper - from Trail Mix collection
Rub-on flowers and metal brads - from stash

Hopefully, you enjoyed your visit and perhaps I made you smile.  Have a lovely weekend.

Young at Heart...earplugs please!

Good morning this fine Sunday!  I say that because it's not supposed to snow today...not until tomorrow.  Hah!  I'm also hoping that I've finally gotten over the nasty bug that I've had this week.  I believe everyone has had enough of this winter... not just me!

The neighbourhood is really rockin' now that Sydney's picked up his strings again.  Everyone said he had to find a hobby upon retirement, so he's starting back in where he left off as a teen.  After all, if Mick can still do it....why can't he?  He's now just waiting to be discovered!

I definitely have a recipient in mind for this one, there's even a slight resemblance.  This fantastic image is another from Just Inklined, titled Strumming Sydney.  Once again I've used my copics, adding chalks and DI for the background.

The DP is from MME, and I've added a bit of stenciled stitching for a border.  The little puppy is a sticker from back in my scrap-booking days, and the sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers - North American Woods collection.  Party Time is a die cut made with the Whimsy - Birthday Sentimentables, which I have heat embossed using ZING embossing powder.

We must be careful when we suggest a hobby to someone.  Crafting may take over the house, but it's generally a nice quiet hobby, no?  Take care and have a great day.

Thank You... for the Guys

...What would we do without them!  Hmmm, actually saw the sun for a wee bit today, but it didn't last long.  These gray skies have been hanging around far too long.  Perhaps we will get a peek for the weekend.

Looking through my cards the other day, I realized that they were nearly all for children or the feminine side.  Whoops!  I think I need to remedy that.  I figured I would start with some thank you cards, and a first for me.....I've made 3 at once.  No colouring today, just stamping and inking.  The animal images are from the North American Woods set (from Mark's Finest Papers), perfect for the guys, and I've used a tree image, called Silence (from Local King Rubber stamps) to make the background.  The images have been cut and matted using 3 different Spellbinders dies, and I've added a little interest with some metalic pens.  Nice and easy....and the first time I've made 3 cards in one day!

Thanks for visiting, and here's wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
