Good morning everyone. The sun is shining here today and all is good. My tree trimmer came and cut out the damaged limbs, but come fall my large birch tree will be coming down. Another reminder of how harsh winter can be. So glad winter is over, but now I think spring is too. It didn't stay long, did it? Hopefully we won't be complaining of an extreme summer, too.
I squeezed some time in last night for this card. A quick one, and although I could have made a guy's card, I decided to go with pink for a girl's card. Another cute image from Just Inklined, and this one is titled High Tops.
I'll make this a quick post, as my eyesight is a bit off this morning. Too much sun I guess. Just let me know if you have any questions on the details. Thanks for visiting.

Get on your bike and ride.....
Good morning folks! It's a long weekend for those of us in Canada, and we are hoping for some nice sunshine. Hopefully the rain is finished, however, it does make pulling weeds so much easier. Always a silver lining, and so much better than snow! Oh, and my tulips are finally ready to flower!
And of course, now you can get out on those bikes if you are so inclined, the motorized sort or the good old pedal powered. Neither one is for me, I have to say....feeling far too old and really, I'm a big chicken! This card will be for my brother. Both him and his wife have motorbikes, and I do like to kid them regarding their future adventures....
For my Just Inklined DT card this week, here is one of the images to be found on The Best of Just Inklined 2012 CD ROM. I think it is hilarious, and I'm sure it will bring a smile. All though I was thinking of a birthday card, it would actually work well for an anniversary card too.
Once again I've worked with my copics, cutting the image out with my Spellbinders die. This time though, the image isn't layered. I used the die on the DP and the image, fitting them together like a puzzle. This makes a much lighter weight card, and worked great with these bold colours.
The DP is from the Bo Bunny - Serenade Collection, and the sentiment is from the Wild Rose Studio - Birthday Circles set. The only embellishment is the silver peel-off border...I'm letting the image carry the show!

Love those flowers...
Just a quick post today, as it is a busy weekend. Mother's Day, and my baby bother's 50th birthday celebration! Even the weather is co-operating...I truly believe that spring is finally here. The grass is now green and there is even some sprouting in my garden. One day, there may even be flowers!
For now though, I'll have to make do with this pretty Hollyhocks image from Just Inklined. They are one of my favourite flowers, but they don't do well for me because of our harsh winters.
Once again, I've coloured with copics, and I've really stayed with a simple design. I've used a Spellbinders die to cut out the image, a corner punch for some added interest, prettey papers from Wild Rose Studio and then a lovely ribbon and bow.
No sentiment for now. I'll probably be giving this one to my Mom in a gift pack of handmade cards, so we'll see what she decides.
Happy Mother's Day to everyone, and I do hope you get to spend some time with your family.

Dreaming...
Good morning everyone! Looks like we are going to have a nice sunny day, however, it's still a lot cooler than one would expect for the end of April. As a result, the grass is still struggling to turn green, and the gardens.....well, nothing to be said there yet!
So here I am again, with another card with a warm spring theme. Sooner or later Mother Nature will come around! This lovely image is from Just Inklined, and titled Park Entrance. Once again, I used my copics, and I also added a scene behind the gate....adding a colourful sunset.
The burgundy paper is a left over, after I'd cut out the centre for another card. I had used the Spellbinders Marvelous Squares die, so I used a smaller one from the set for the white mat.
I need to be sending out my thank you cards now, to all those that helped me with the snow this winter. I truly hope that is now finished!
Thanks for stopping by, and here's hoping you are having a lovely weekend.

A Little bit of Lavender
Happy Easter everyone! It looks like we are in for a couple of warmer sunny days, for which everyone will be thankful. Hopefully we'll be seeing some green shortly....and then flowers! The winter did a lot of damage to the trees, and I am still cleaning them up, but I hope it hasn't been as hard on the perennials. I'll just have to wait and see.
I decided to go with a sketch this time, and this one is from Sketchy Challenges. I found some older scrapbook paper in my stash that complements the image nicely and then some purple ribbon. The paper candi is coloured with the same coolour that I used for the image and the sentiment border.
Here's hoping you all have a wonderful weekend, with a bit of sunshine thrown in too!
Some challenges for my card:
In the meantime, another card with pretty flowers. This is another image from Just Inklined, titled Lavender Bag, and could be used for any number of occasions.

Spring Flowers
Good morning folks! April showers today, but I can handle that. Hopefully it will help the grass turn green and start some sprouting in the gardens. In the meantime, I'll just have to settle for colouring some pretty spring flowers.
Another DT post for Just Inklined, this time using one of their newer images...Narcissus. Lots of green you'll notice, and some nice sunny yellow to brighten the day. Next weekend being Easter, I'm really hoping for some nice sunny days.
Plenty of layers to this one, and I've once again added some black accents and I think it makes the bright colours stand out more. The borders at the top are simply different patterned tapes that I've had kicking around for a while. Makes for a nice simple card.

Thinking Spring
Greetings. We're still waiting on spring, but maybe tomorrow it will get here. The snow is slowly disappearing, but we still have ice to melt so it will probably be a while. Mr Skunk was back this evening, looking for grubs....I'm sure he will do quite a number on the lawn. Hopefully we'll still have one when he's finished!
So, again I've gone with a warm weather themed card with lots of bright colours. This is the pretty Village Pump image from Just Inklined. I've coloured with copics and coloured pencils, and Pan Pastels for the sky, and then I've made good use of the Spellbinders die - Creatopia Frame 2, for both cutting and matting the image.
For the very first time, I've used a digital paper for my background. It is a freebie design from Bearly Mine and you can still find it here. I was really surprised how nice it printed out...I think I may have to go shopping!

Take time to smell the....strawberries
Well, we got a lucky break last night. They were calling for another good dumping of snow along with freezing rain. Although we did get some, thankfully not in the amounts they were calling for. A pleasant surprise, for a change.
So let's go with a change of season. Anyone for some nice fresh strawberries? Here's a delicious image from Just Inklined, titled Strawberry Pot, sure to make you think of warmer weather. Coloured with copics, and then some DI on the background die-cut and doily.
In case you are wondering...that die-cut is very fiddly. Be sure to layer a piece of wax paper in-between your paper and the die before cutting.
Supplies used:
Paper from Paper Mania - Burleigh Blue collection
Spellbinders die - Decorative Labels Twenty Seven
Other - ribbon, doily, paper candi, corner punch
Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe!!

Days gone by....
Good morning! It will be so nice when the temperatures stay above freezing for more than a few hours at a time. Any melting of snow and ice just freezes back up again, and of course, we can't forget those additional bits of fluffy white stuff that keep on coming to visit stay. Old Man Winter was sure in a grumpy mood this year! Does he not know that he's overstayed his welcome?
So now, for my DT card for Just Inklined using a rather nostalgic image, Stepping Out. No snow in this picture, though they are still dressed for the cold, and I've gone with a monochromatic colour theme...this time with Spectrum Noir markers. I only have the brown set so far, but they did work beautifully!
For the frame, I used the Spellbinders Creatopia Frame 2 die, colouring it with distress stains and inks for a vintage look. Found some papers that followed the theme in the Printery Collection from Prima, adding black ribbons and lace for contrast. The gold watch and corner piece add a little bit of class for the final touch.
Hope you are all keeping well and thinking spring thoughts! Thanks for stopping by.

Fancy Folds with Just Inklined
Hurray...February is behind us! Now it is March and time for this month's blog hop at Just Inklined. Our theme this month is for some Fancy Folds, so some of us really had to put our thinking caps on.
Remember to leave your comments on each blog as you travel along, for your chance for one of this month's two spot prizes. Now, grab your coffee, put your feet up and enjoy!
Here you go, with the blog hop order:
Today I've gone with a centre step card...lots of folds there! I wanted to use the Heart Wreath image which I think is lovely for an Anniversary card. As you can see, it's an over-sized card and I've added lots of bits and bobs
Here is a close up of the image, which I've coloured with copics and then fussy cut.
Some of the supplies used:
Small Exotic Butterfly die from Cheery Lynn
Fence die from Impression Obsession
Madera Corner die from Memory Box
Happy Anniversary stamp from Stampabilities
Flowers from Wild Orchid
Papers, gems and peel-offs from my stash
Hopefully all goes well with this pre-scheduled post, as I will be away for a bit of holiday. Somewhere where there is no snow!!! Take care everyone and have a great day!

Missing my flowers...
Ok, enough is enough! I've made plans for a week away from all of this ice and snow. I won't be heading to the sunny south, but somewhere in between where it should feel like spring...my type of weather. I hope to be bringing some of those temperatures back with me too!
So, just in case you have forgotten, these are what flowers look like....aren't they lovely? I'm sure they will brighten someone's day, and in card format they are available at any time of year! This is the lovely Cyclamen image, available from Just Inklined, and once again I have coloured with my copics.
I have used the Spellbinders Labels Twenty Two die to cut around the top of the image, but fussy cutting the leaves. The fancy mat behind is made with the Joy Craft Lacey Square Frame die, and I have inked the embossed areas with DI. The DP is from the First Edition Summer Breeze collection, while the ribbon and gems are from my stash.
Hang in there everyone, surely winter cannot last forever. Let's just hope our spring and summer are all that we hope for.

Young at Heart...earplugs please!
Good morning this fine Sunday! I say that because it's not supposed to snow today...not until tomorrow. Hah! I'm also hoping that I've finally gotten over the nasty bug that I've had this week. I believe everyone has had enough of this winter... not just me!
I definitely have a recipient in mind for this one, there's even a slight resemblance. This fantastic image is another from Just Inklined, titled Strumming Sydney. Once again I've used my copics, adding chalks and DI for the background.
The DP is from MME, and I've added a bit of stenciled stitching for a border. The little puppy is a sticker from back in my scrap-booking days, and the sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers - North American Woods collection. Party Time is a die cut made with the Whimsy - Birthday Sentimentables, which I have heat embossed using ZING embossing powder.
We must be careful when we suggest a hobby to someone. Crafting may take over the house, but it's generally a nice quiet hobby, no? Take care and have a great day.

Vintage...warm thoughts
Good morning again...it's Saturday anyway, for those of you waiting on the weekend! I'm hoping for a good one, as I'm heading into the big city with my two granddaughters and one of my daughters to see a show...Heartbeat of Home, and we are making a weekend of it. Last weekend I went in with another daughter and saw Les Mis. I'm on a roll! Definitely need the escape from the nasty weather, even if just for a few hours.
So, in keeping with 'warm thoughts', how about these pretty lacy bits! This is another sweet image from Just Inklined, titled Petticoats Three. Very feminine and well suited for a vintage card.
I decided on a frame for the image, using 2 sizes of the Spellbinders Labels Two die. I then covered it with clear crackle paint, followed by distress ink. A couple of coordinating papers and a MS punch for the background, and then the Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish die for some added interest. Just a few flowers and pearls for the finishing touches. No sentiment yet, until I decide who it is for.
Stay safe everyone, and have a lovely weekend!

Be My Valentine
Good morning! We're back this month with another blog hop at Just Inklined. Our theme, believe it or not....is Be My Valentine, and we are showcasing some adorable new images for this special occasion. By following along, leaving comments along the way, you could be one of the lucky spot prize winners to receive one of these images. How cool is that!
Here is the blog order...don't want you getting lost along the way!
So, what do you think? This sweet image is titled Trunk Love, and it was a dream to colour! As you can see, I kept it very simple, only using only one die-cut mat and a corner punch, along with 2 little gems. Nice and quick, and then it is all ready for the post.
Thanks so much for visiting....now put your feet up and enjoy the rest of the hop.
