liquid band aid please

Hi you all,
I hope someone out there can help me : I've been coming across (in blogs) something called 'liquid band aid' , to put on fingertips damaged by sewing (i have a very painful hole from finally picking up my lollipops) . Could someone please give me the exact name, brand maybe, because my pharmacist (in Belgium) doesn't know what i am talking about.
Thank you. I promise a pic of my 4th block very soon.

Tools of the Trade

This is the outside of a great applique carrier that I bought several years ago from a Canadian quilter named Annette Johnston. Her company is Nature's Colours. Unfortunately, she no longer makes them. I love this bag!!!

Here are some pics of the inside. I keep my scissors, markers, and my trusty seam ripper on this page.

I have several different sizes and kinds of needles. Right now, my favorite is John James Milliners needle, size 11.
I have my Clover applique pins and another brand that's even smaller.

These are my Mettler cotton 60/2 threads. I got them when I took a class with Pat Campbell of Jacobean Applique fame. I've also got a donut bobbin saver with Masterpiece thread in the Frostings line. I know, I know. I don't have nearly enough. lol Give me time!!

This is the back page. I have my Clover needle threader that I couldn't live without, some Roxanne glue and my toothpicks. I can't fit the Cracker Barrel toothpick holder in here; it's way too big. I have KKB's Perfect Circles but I'm not sure where I put them :(

I keep the blocks and pieces I'm working on folded up inside of the bag and I can just pick up and head out at a moment's notice. I also use the overlay method. I took a Becky Goldsmith class once and I like it much better than any other way of lining everything up.

tools of the trade tips

Having read all your tools tips, I think I better shape up! My thread spools are all dumped into a tray and scissors amongst them all. I drop all the fabric trimmings and threads on the floor, to be picked up whenever I get up from the sofa. My friend Sharron always looks like she is trying to restrain herself from tidying up my sewing basket everytime she comes over to my place to sew. Ms. S always has everything in its place, all bagged and labelled! I better go to the naughty corner... I am a very tidy person everywhere else, but not with the sewing basket. Kim McL

Tools of the Trade

I thought it might be fun and informative if people posted a photo and description of their preferred tools for applique. As a new needle turner I am always keen to hear about a tool or tip that will make my needle turning easier and better, and my own tool box is a mix of things I have seen others talk about on the innernets, or have been fortunate enough to see someone using in 'real life' (a much rarer occurrence unfortunately!). Some of the items I have used on wool felt projects (huge Sue Spargo fan) or standard embroidery. Hopefully this kind of post is ok!
