Treat Bags For My Turkeys!

Hello friends. Today I get to host the new Designer Challenge over at My Creative Time. The challenge is to make any kind of project so long as it has a THANKSGIVING THEME and uses some My Creative Time products.

I had a blast with this challenge. My mind was going crazy thinking of all sorts of fun possibilities on how to use Emma's current dies to make a turkey. I love the little turkey gift bags and I hope you do too.

Everything on the topper of this treat bag was made using Emma's products other than the little Critter Faces (size small)  by Peachy Keen Stamps. Just in case you ever want to make these I'm going to list what I used. First let's start with the products that are the same for both turkey treat toppers. The green piece is My Creative Time's Stitched Doily Die. The brown turkey base is the bunny die from the To My Best Peep stamp and die set (I just cut off the bunny ears). The sentiment on both of them is from the new Teeny Tag Holidays stamp set.

On my girl turkey I used both layers of the Scalloped Stitched Rosette Dies for her tail feathers. I have seen some of the other My Creative Time designers use rosettes for tail feathers on turkeys and thought it looked really cute. To make her little hair bow I used the tiny little hearts you get when you cut the olive pick on the Cocktail Party Stitched Dies

The tail feathers on the boy turkey are the bunny ears from the To My Best Peep bunny die. I used the present die from the new All Around Holidays set for the hat. I just trimmed off the bow and cut another hat in red and trimmed it down so I could layer it on top.

I hope these give you some fun ideas. I know that my design team sisters have made some AMAZING projects for this challenge to help inspire you. I hope you will join in the fun challenge too. I can't wait to see what you make! Hugs- Glora

A Basket Full of Love

Hello, it is time for 3D Wednesday at My Creative Time.

I decided to dress up a cute little basket I've had on hand for a while. My 4 year old is in love with this blingy treat basket.

I used several dies on this basket. I used the stitched cloud dies from the Fly Away With Me Dies, the kraft colored piece is from the Just Simply Live Stamp and Die set, and the darling stitched bunny die and the sentiment are from the To My Best Peep stamp set. I love how My Creative Time products mix and match so well. I did stamp a PKS face on my bunny too. This one is from the Critter Faces Small set.

Make sure to stop by Emma's blog and see what everyone has been up to. Hugs- Glora

Have a FABULOUS Birthday!

Well Pam and I are having are monthly cut challenge. Pam chose the cut this month and it was the cute little graduation dog from the Create a Critter 2 Cricut cartridge. I didn't need a graduation card but I always need birthday cards so I made my little pup into a birthday card.

Well how about the details? For the face I used Peachy Keen Stamps Critter Faces XL size. I stamped the eyes only and then I chose a mouth from the set and stamped it. The awesome birthday sentiment comes from one of Emma's newest release sets called More of My Favorite Sayings. I used two Cuttlebug embossing folders, Traffic Jam and Tiny Bubbles. I also did some inking, accenting with my gel pen and I added a little Glossy Accents to the eyes.

I can't wait to see what Pam did with this cute cut. Make sure to check it out HERE. And HAVE a FABULOUS day! Hugs- Glora

You and Me

***If you are looking for my 3D Wednesday project for My Creative Time scroll down or click HERE***

Hi, I'm just stopping by really quick to show you a card that I made for the current Peachy Keen Challenge. The challenge is to make a card using hearts. I made a heart shaped card.

All of the cut pieces come from the Create a Critter 2 Cricut cartridge. The Koala cut is normally just the girl koala but I wanted to have a boy koala too so I just copied and flipped the image in my Gypsy. I used the Critter Faces (Medium) stamps from Peachy Keen Stamps. I love how cute they make these images. The sentiment is from Emma's new Lots of Love stamp set.

Other than that I inked the edges with Distress Ink and added some accents with my gel pen. I added Glossy Accents to the noses and eyes and some Trendy Twine for the girl's bow. I hope you enjoyed my card. Hugs- Glora

LOVE Banner

Well I'm back and it is time for another 3D Wednesday at My Creative Time. Today we all made some sort of banner. It could be a large banner, a small banner attached to a card, whatever so long as we included a banner.

I LOVE making banners for holiday decorations. Some are small and go on my door and others are rather large. This one is one of my smaller door banners.

I used lots of fun My Creative Time products for this little banner. Each piece of the banner is made using the Tag Dies as the base. I used the darling Stitched Heart Layer Dies for all the little hearts. I used the beautiful new Stitched Scallop Heart Die set for my 'O'. I also used the following My Creative Time stamp sets for the sentiments on the hearts: Chocolate Greetings and Lots of Love.

I also used stamps from the new January 2013 Stamp Kit of the Month by Peachy Keen Stamps.

Here is a close up of each piece of the banner.

The letters were cut at 2.5" from the Opposites Attract Cricut cartridge. I also stamped the bears on tan paper and chalked them up for the shading.

I used Glossy Accents on the eyes and noses. For this cute girl bear I used two of the smallest hearts from the Stitched Heart Layering Dies to make her little bow. I just added a small heart shaped rhinestone to finish it off.

I pop dotted a bunch of the hearts up too. I love the dimension on this in real life. This is probably my new favorite holiday banner.

This bear's face is the only PKS stamp that did not come from the January 2013 SKOTM. This one is from the Critter Faces XL stamp set.

My banner was strung together with some pretty red and pink twine from Trendy Twine.

I'm kind of hoping you can see the dimension on the banner a little bit better on these last couple of shots.

I'm entering this banner into the current Peachy Keen 3D Challenge which is supposed to include bears in it.

Make sure to stop by Emma's blog if you haven't already for some awesome banner inspiration. Have a fabulous day! Hugs- Glora

Now I'm Talking to the Sunbeams

I'm currently the volunteer Primary President, in charge of our church's children's organization - Sunday School instruction for young children ages 3-12. It can be challenging to coordinate the different teachers, classes, lessons, songs, and activities, but it is always rewarding!

Since this is the new year, the three-turning-four-year-old "Sunbeams" class is full of new and excited young ones who just graduated from the nursery (which is for the 18 months - 3 year old children). I made these shape cards, with a unique design for each youth, and wrote a welcome message for each child.

So no, I'm not going crazy. In this instance, talking to "Sunbeams" is perfectly normal!

Face: Peachy Keen Stamps - Happy Lashes

The sunshine comes from the Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge. I modified them in the Gypsy.

Face: Peachy Keen Stamps - Critter Faces XL

Peachy Keen Stamps finish these off perfectly! And I'm also entering this in their Anything Goes challenge.

Face: Peachy Keen Stamps - Simple Simons

These cards fit perfectly inside of Emma's 3x3 Fancy Envelope Die. I love that thing, it is perfect for all my 3x3 notecards.

Face: Peachy Keen Stamps - Basic Paper Doll Faces

Incidentally, the class name of "Sunbeam" comes from both St. Matthew 5:16 ("Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.") and their class song (lyrics below). What better group to represent these values than 3-and-4-year-olds?!

Face: Peachy Keen Stamps - Critter Faces XL

Words by Nellie Talbot, © Intellectual Reserve, Inc.

1. Jesus wants me for a sunbeam,
To shine for him each day;
In every way try to please him,
At home, at school, at play.

Chorus
A sunbeam, a sunbeam,
Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.
A sunbeam, a sunbeam,
I'll be a sunbeam for him.

2. Jesus wants me to be loving
And kind to all I see,
Showing how pleasant and happy
His little one can be.

Repeat Chorus

For my project I used the new Circle Font. I thought they would look really cute on a bath time layout for my baby.

I used the brand new Circle Font stamps with the circle from the Build a Banner set to create my title. I also used some of the circle dies as bubbles. The cute little baby is from the Baby Steps Cricut cartridge. I stamped the baby's face with the Critter Faces (large) stamp set and the duck's little eye was stamped with the Bird Faces and More stamp set by Peachy Keen Stamps.

These new font sets are AWESOME. I'm having so much fun playing with them.

Simply Crafts - Thankful For You Turkey

Well it is once again the first Wednesday of the month which means it is time for another Simply Crafts Challenge. The cut this month is the turkey from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge. I hope you will come and join along in the challenge HERE.

This is my shape card with this cut:

This turkey has a REALLY small head so even though this card is approximately 4.5" squared I had to use the VERY smallest stamp in the Critter Faces - Small stamp assortment by Peachy Keen Stamps. The sentiment is from My Creative Time's Piles of Smiles and I used some hemp twine from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique for it. I also did a bunch of faux stitching. This is a pretty plain cut so I thought it needed some help to make it pop.

Make sure to stop by Pam's blog (HERE). I've already seen her card and it is cute and way too funny. We would love to have you join in the fun at the Simply Crafts Challenge Blog. Have a terrific day! Hugs- Glora

My Creative Time Beary Special Blog Hop

***If you are looking for my Peachy Keen Blog Post scroll down to the next post.***

Even though its not quite Halloween, Emma has decided to give you all a "Beary Special Treat"! This doesn't cause weight gain but will cause CUTENESS OVERLOAD! Included in this hop, you will see a "Beary Special" stamp set that was designed by Emma for this special hop!  Also, joining us for this hop are 5 VERY TALENTED "Guest Designers"!

Well you really are in for a treat especially if you love teddy bears as much as I do. You should have arrived here from Debbie's blog but if not make sure that you start back at the My Creative Time blog so that you don't miss a single stop.

I made a couple of projects because I LOVE this set SO much. First up a card:

This adorable little koala bear is from the new Create a Critter 2 Cricut cartridge. The heart background shapes are also from that cartridge I just made it into a shape card using my Gypsy. The ADORABLE little face on the koala is from the Critter Faces - Medium stamp set by Peachy Keen Stamps. And of course that AWESOME sentiment is from the brand new Beary Special Thoughts stamp set by My Creative Time.

My Second Project is a layout.

The brown section is a 5.25 x 7.25 mat for a 5x7 photo. The pretty picot trim across the top of it is from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique.

Here is a close up of the top part of the layout.

These little bears and the stitched hearts are from the new Beary Special Thoughts stamp set. The sentiment is also from the set. It comes straight and I just curved it on my stamping block so that it would follow the curve of the paper. The twine is from Trendy Twine.

And last of all here is a close up of the larger bear at the bottom of the layout.

This little cutie was made using an old Coluzzle set that I have. That pretty pink polka dot paper in the background is actually flocked and oh so pretty and soft. It is by Doodlebug Design the smaller polka dot paper is also by Doodlebug Design. The brown paper is Core'dinations. The cute little face is from the Cute and Cuddly Face Assortment by Peachy Keen Stamps. The heart is a My Creative Time Die that comes with the 100% Sweetness stamp set. And the sentiment once again comes from the Beary Special Thoughts stamp set by Emma.

MCT August Stamp Release Day 1

Hello My Creative Time fans, it is time for another stamp and die release and this one is a BIG one! These are seriously going to blow you away. Emma has really outdone herself this time. Today the design team members are showcasing either Treats for my Sweet or Piles of Smiles. I'm showcasing the Thanksgiving set called Piles of Smiles.

Don't you just love those fonts together? I think you are just going to love this set of sentiments, images and dies. I'm excited to use these for my Thanksgiving cards and layouts. The Indian and Pilgrim are from a Cricut Craft Room Exclusive called Classroom October - November. It was the freebie of the week last week. The Indian doesn't really have so many layers but I wanted him to have colorful feathers so I cut it out in a few colors and did the layers myself. I used a Versamarker around the edges and my Gellyroll for some accent dots. The faces are from the Critter Faces stamp assortment by Peachy Keen Stamps. I just masked the eyes separate from the mouth so I could position them where I needed to.

Pin the Bee on the Flower Game

Hello crafting friends! Sorry it has been so long since my last post, life has just been BUSY! I did want to share with you a game that I put together for my daughter's birthday party yesterday. She wanted everything to have a FLOWER theme so we thought a fun game of pin the bee on the flower would be fun. It was a hit with the girls. This is also my entry for the Let's Face it Friday challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps. We were supposed to use material in our project.

Here is the whole flower...

I used a strip of green material for the stem but everything else is cut out of paper.

Here is a close up of the flower and the bees...

Anyway, I hope you like it! All the pieces were cut from the Create a Critter cartridge. The flower was cut at about 11.5" and the bees were about 1.75" each. I used the darling Critter Faces in the Small size for all of the bees. And the flower center is a Basic Paper Doll Face.

I hope to be back on here before Christmas, but if not I would like to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! Hugs- Glora
