Good Teachers Teach From the Heart

Hi, I thought I would pop in and share a card that I made for my daughter's teacher. You may be seeing a few teacher appreciation items in the next few weeks. Our school decided to celebrate teacher appreciation week all next week. I'm trying to get a few projects done and ready to go in advance. I thought this cute sketch from Peachy Keen Stamps would work cute for a thank you card. Here is the sketch (the challenge runs through tonight if you want to join in).

For this card I used a bear and apple SVG from PPBN, I don't see it on her site anymore but it was a freebie that I got from there a long time ago. However, I did find it in the Silhouette Online Store HERE if you are interested in it.

The sentiment on the apple is from the My Teacher Rocks! stamp set by My Creative Time. The Thank You is from Sports Sentiments also by My Creative Time. I also used a couple of dies by My Creative Time. My rounded squares in the background are from the 4x4 Journal + More and the cute little heart dies are from the Stitched Sweethearts and XOXO Dies. And of course that absolutely ADORABLE face on the bear is a face stamp by Peachy Keen Stamps called the Teddy Bear Assortment. Isn't it the cutest little face?

I hope you enjoyed my card today. I have another card to share tomorrow too (SURPRISE). I'll see you then! Hugs- Glora

My Teacher Rocks! - Teacher Appreciation

I just wanted to share with you the last couple of things that we did for Teacher Appreciation Week.

I made this card for my daughter's teacher and included a note and a gift card.

The cut is from the Recess Cricut cartridge. I made it into a girl cut instead of a boy cut by using the hair from the girl that sits at a desk on that cartridge. This super cute face that makes it look like she is reading out loud  is from Peachy Keen Stamps The Moodies 1 1/8" face stamps. The book title is from My Creative Time's My Teacher Rocks! stamp set. I did some faux stitching and used my Versamarker as well. Oh yes and those darling little flowers in her hair can be found at Liz's Paper Loft Boutique.

Here is the cute card that my daughter drew for her teacher:

And last of all we gave her about 20 homemade cards and envelopes in a bag with a topper.

The cute star on the topper is a stamp by Peachy Keen Stamps called You are a Star.

Have a great day and I will see you Wednesday for the PKS and SVG Cutting Files Blog Hop. Hugs- Glora

Teacher Appreciation Week

Well it is Teacher Appreciation Week here and I wanted to share a couple of things I have made so far.

First of all we decorated the door for our school's PE teacher.

I used my Sports Mania Cricut cartridge for all of the ball cuts. I used my Old West Cricut cartridge for the Thank You and for the other font I used the Cricut Craftroom Basics.

I also made a quick little wrap for an XL candy bar for my daughter's teacher. Our school has a gift theme for each day so we will be sending her teacher something each day. It should be fun.

Isn't that chalkboard paper fun. It is some old paper that I've had for years made by Provo Craft. The darling little belly band is made with My Creative Time's Vintage Stitched Label Die and stamped with the Vintage Label Stamp set. The thank you comes from My Creative Time's My Teacher Rocks stamp set. I tied each side off with a bit of twine.

I'm sure there will be more Teacher Appreciation stuff to share later this week so make sure to stop by! Hugs- Glora

MCT New Challenge- Pinterest Inspired Project

Hi crafty friends. It is time for another My Creative Time Challenge. Emma is hosting this challenge and the theme is to make a  Pinterest Inspired Project. I hope you will all join in the fun and link up on Emma's blog.

I found this awesome back to school idea on Pinterest and HERE is where you can find the original project. I think it is such a creative idea! They used flowers in their project but my daughter's teacher had asked for a few classroom supplies including new pencils so I thought this would be a cute way to send her some new pencils.

Isn't that fun? We have a gazillion letter magnets, in fact too many to fit in their container, so this was a fun way to use some of the extras. You can get the full instructions on how to make this off the original blog HERE. It is super simple and cute.

I used some pretty chevron ribbon from May Arts for the bow and the cute little dies in the middle are the Scallop and Stitched Circle Dies by My Creative Time and the Back to School stamped sentiment is from Emma's My Teacher Rocks! stamp set.

Make sure to check out Emma's blog and see what everyone has made for this challenge and join in the fun too. I can't wait to see what you all make! Hugs- Glora

My Teacher Rocks - Basket

If you are looking for the My Creative Time sneak peek #4 scroll down or click HERE.

Hello sweet crafting friends, I wanted to submit a project that I made for the Peachy Keen Let's Face it Friday Challenge. It has been a busy week so this is going up right at the last minute.

I made a fun little container to put some pencils and other supplies in. My daughter's teacher asked for some pencils, erasers, glue sticks, etc. I thought they would look cute coming in this basket.

This basket is super easy to make and only requires a sturdy piece of 12 x 12 paper. This was some cute paper by Me and My Big Ideas. HERE is a picture tutorial that I found a while back on  Kristal Andrew's site (Getting Cricky) blog. These are super easy to make.

The AWESOME sentiment is from the My Teacher Rocks! stamp set by My Creative Time. I've used this set A LOT and absolutely LOVE it!!!

The ruffle along the top is crepe paper. I got this fabulous idea from Kimberly over at My Craft Spot. I love the way it dresses things up. The pencils are from the Smiley Card Cricut cartridge. The adorable faces are by Peachy Keen Stamps - Boy Mates and Princess Faces. The twine at the top is by Trendy Twine.

This also seemed to fit the criteria for the Pinkalicious Blog Hop and Challenge so I wanted to enter it there as well.

Alright I think that about wraps it up. I hope to see you in the morning for the My Creative Time September Release Blog hop!!! Have a fabulous night! Hugs- Glora

Peachy Keen Stamps Guest Designer Day 3

Wow, this week is flying by. I'm already half way through my Peachy dream come true designer spot. For today's back to school project I made some backpack shaped treat containers.

So those are the fronts and here are the backs of the backpacks:

The backpack pattern comes from a Cricut Cartridge called 'Life's a Party'. I first saw this backpack container on my friend, Simply Pam's blog. If you are interested in seeing a video tutorial on it click HERE, and you can go to her blog post.

Now onto the details for each of these...

This one was made using textured cardstock. I cut the container out and then I made my own patterned paper by stamping it with BEAUTIFUL sentiments off of PK-851 Teacher Says! Phrases & Faces. This set is AWESOME. As a mom I am all for having these kinds of encouraging sentiments on hand. I was going with a star theme on this one, so for my home made patterned paper I filled in with some awesome star stamps from Market Street Stamps' 'Blast Off' stamp set. And yes, that darling star in the front is a Peachy Keen Stamp. All I did was cut out a star from George and Basic Shapes at 2.25" and this darling 'You are a star...' stamp fits perfectly inside.

For this backpack, I started with a basic piece of patterned cardstock. I stamped it randomly with the same 'Teachers Says! Phrases & Faces.' However, I also incorporated a few stamps from Emma's 'My Teacher Rocks!' set. I cut an apple from the Create a Critter cartridge and stamped it with one of the adorable faces that comes with the 'Teacher Says! Phrases & Faces.'

I want you to see just how cute this set is, so here is a picture of it...

I'm not a school teacher, but I think this set is PERFECT. Plus it comes with 3 adorable 'Basic Paperdoll Faces.' Love it!

Okay, I won't keep you any longer for today. Thanks for dropping by and I hope you have a FABULOUS day! And thank you so much for all your sweet comments. They have been so fun to read! Hugs- Glora

The Blog Candy for this week, which was generously donated by Peachy Keen Stamps, is the new Winter Wonderland Face Assortment.

If you leave a comment here and on the Peachy Keen Stamps Home page each day this week, you will have up to 10 chances to win these adorable stamps. I will be drawing the winner on Saturday, August 27th. Best of luck!

Peachy Keen Stamps Guest Designer - Day 2

Hello friends, welcome to day 2 of my Peachy Keen Guest Designer Week. Today is the beginning of a new sketch challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog and I am BEYOND thrilled to be designing along with the Peachy Keen Stamps Design Team. They are so talented, incredibly sweet and wonderful ladies. I am happy to say that I draw much inspiration from each of them and consider them dear friends!

For this sketch challenge there is a twist and that twist is to use BUTTONS somewhere on your project. Sticking with my 'Back to School' theme, I made an altered notebook for my daughter. This will be her 'School Journal' where she can practice her spelling words, write stories, draw pictures, etc.

Here is the beautiful sketch we are working with for this challenge! Don't forget to use BUTTONS when you join in the fun!

Here are a couple of closeups so you can see the details a little better.

Aren't these apples buttons ADORABLE? I fell in love with them and yes, I even stamped one of them with a Simple Sallies face.

I used the Snow Cuties Face for the girl's darling face, I used Simple Sallies for the face on the one little apple and I used the Extra Small Polka Dots for the polka dot print on my girl's shirt (I heat embossed it). All of these beautiful stamps are in the Peachy Keen store.

I also used Emma's My Teacher Rocks! stamp set for both the little note in the girl's hand as well as the homework list on the chalk board. And last, but not least I used the beautiful Woodgrain background stamp from Market Street Stamps for the wood grain on the chalkboard. All of these stamps are manufactured by Peachy Keen Stamps and they are the best quality! I LOVE them!

Thanks so much for dropping by today!!! I appreciate all of you taking the time to support and encourage me. I hope that I do a little of the same in return. Have a wonderful day! HUGS- Glora

Peachy Keen Stamps Guest Designer - Day 1

Hello, Peachy Keen Friends. Today is the first day of my guest designer spot for Peachy Keen Stamps and I'm thrilled. When I realized that my Peachy Keen Guest Designer Week and the start of school (in my neck of the woods) would coincide it seemed only natural to plan 'back to school' projects. At the time I didn't realize how popular that theme was going to be this month. Nevertheless, I'm VERY excited to share with you some fun projects that I made with a 'back to school' theme in mind.

Today, I have one of my favorite kinds of cards to share with you. I call it a spinner card and was originally inspired to make this kind of card when I saw THIS card on Nikki (Scrappin' Navy Wife's) blog. I have a picture tutorial for this kind of card HERE if you are interested in making one of these yourself. If you do make one, let me know I'd love to come and see it!

So here is the first face of my back to school girl:

I had to start with this sad face because I have to admit that the very first day of school can be scary or sad at first for the child (in my case for the MOM)! But don't worry because it gets better, as you turn the dial...

You  get a smiley face. Yes, the little girl finds out that school really is fun and she is having a great time (and that makes this whole school thing easier for Mom too) and then turn the dial one last time and we find...

This little girl leaves school SO happy and she is super excited just thinking about the next day!

Don't those darling faces just bring this girl to LIFE?! I seriously LOVE my Peachy Keen Stamps to pieces. For this project I used one of my favorite sets called Wide Eyed Kids. I also used the adorable Princess Face stamps.

The darling Back to School sentiment is from the My Teacher Rocks! stamp set by My Creative Time as well as that cute stitched circle in the corner. It is from the Scallop and Stitched Circle Die set (I just cut it down to fit in the corner).

Here is a VERY short video just showing how the card looks as you turn the dial. If you are interested in the picture tutorial on making this card click HERE.

The prize for this week, which was generously donated by Peachy Keen Stamps, is the new Winter Wonderland Face Assortment.

If you leave a comment here and on the Peachy Keen Stamps Home page each day this week, you will have up to 10 chances to win these adorable stamps. I will be drawing the winner on Saturday, August 27th. Good luck and thanks for stopping by today! I hope to see you tomorrow! Hugs- Glora

Duck on Vacation...

I wanted to join in the Cottage Blog Challenge #1. I have a few of the CottageCutz dies that are designed by Peachy Keen Stamps and I absolutely LOVE them. They are so cute. For this challenge we were to base our project off a picture of beautiful pink blossoms that they provided for inspiration. I thought these flowers looked kind of like a lei all layered together so that is where the inspiration took me.

This is a pretty simple card but I really like how it turned out. I hand cut her hula skirt and drew some little flip flops on her too. I used the adorable Duck with Egg die for this project. Isn't she a cutie. And the perfect little sentiment is from Emma's My Teacher Rocks! stamp set. This is the card we gave my daughter's teacher for the last day of school today.

Here is the picture that brought the inspiration. Hopefully you don't think I stretched my inspiration too far Janice. And thanks for letting me know about the fun challenge.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are having a great day. Hugs- Glora

Bring My Teacher an Apple!

Here is a fun little bag that we decorated for my daughter's teacher during Teacher Appreciation week. We were supposed to bring the teacher a munchy and my daughter insisted that her teacher loves apples. So we bought her apples and went with an apple theme.

These oh SO perfect sentiment stamps are from Emma's My Teacher Rocks stamp set. I absolutely LOVE these! They were perfect for Teacher Appreciation week and they will also get A LOT of use for any other teacher related projects. The cute polka dot background stamp is by Peachy Keen Stamps along with the darling little Critter face stamps.

And this little thingy was an absolute must. My daughter fell in love with it at first sight. It worked perfect for a little tag holder, but now it can be used as her teacher's work badge holder. I have no idea what they are really called but they pull in and out so you can scan your work badge. Anyway, whatever it is, here is a picture of it.

Thanks for dropping by again today! And many prayers are going out to so many people in harms way of the tornadoes!!!!!

Let's Face It Friday - Organize It

I absolutely LOVE to see organizational ideas and if you are like me and want to see some AMAZING and super cute ideas go and check out the design team projects and submissions for the Let's Face It Friday challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps Blog.

For my project I wanted to make something fun and interactive for my daughter to keep up on her 'school' skills in the summer. She LOVES this so I think it will help out a lot. Last year we didn't use any charts but we did find out that if we did her reading and stuff first thing in the morning then we would remember to get it done. Otherwise the day would get busy with fun summer activities and this summer learning would get pushed aside. This chart should help too since each day each item will start up in the 'TO DO' box and then she can move them down to the 'COMPLETED' box as she finishes up each item. This chart is approximately 6" x 11"

(If you would like to see the details closer you can always click on the photo).

I made the background using Microsoft Excel. I'm an accountant so I am a bit of a spreadsheet nerd. Then I printed my spreadsheet on some super cute paper from DCWV's Mod-Retro Stack. I stamped a darling little heart from Emma's stamp set My One and Only in the corner. I cut the pieces for my project from various cartridges at about 2" each.

This cute little book is from the Sugar and Spice Cricut Lite cartridge. I stamped it with a My Creative Time stamp from the set called 'My Teacher Rocks,' and I also used the adorable Peachy Keen stamp set called 'Happy Lashes'.

This cute little pencil came from the Locker Talk Cricut cartridge. I stamped his cute face with a Simple Simon face stamp by PKS.

I made the little chalkboard myself. I used the super cute Woodgrain background stamp by Market Street Stamps. For the cute face I white embossed a darling Simple Sally face and for the numbers I welded them together using my Gypsy and the Pooh Font cartridge.

And for this cute little kitty, I used Create-a-Critter for the cat and Pooh Font for the letters. The adorable face is a Critter face stamp from Peachy Keen stamps.

I laminated everything so they will SURVIVE the summer. I have my own personal laminator that I use for lots of little things for my children. I seriously LOVE it. Then I attached everything with Velcro.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my project today. Hugs- Glora
