Part of A Big Order

Welcome!

At the end of every year for the past few years, not only do I make my Christmas cards, but I also have a standing order that I start to work on to be completed by March. This year the order has increased to 75 cards. This order is for a mixture of occasions and card sizes. I often include cards I made as samples for past classes.

Anyway, I decided to work a little more with the Altenew wide washi tape, Floral Flurries, and created these six cards.

These are A2 cards (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"). A simple design and embellished using ribbon and fussy cut florals from the washi tape that was attached to white cardstock before cutting. After spening about 4 hours fussy cutting, I ended up with a large amount of flowers & leaves that did not all get used up.

Basically I made three different cards using different Altenew sentiment stamps, and a slightly different arrangements, each with a different colour of cardstock for matting and ribbon. So I will be showing you the cards in sets of two.

Hello Sunshine

Wishing You A Full Recovery

And, Thank You (this photo ended up a bit crooked, sorry)

Now that I have these six cards completed, I still have a few more fussy cut flowers to make a few more cards with. I had thought about putting the washi tape onto coloured cardstock, but then thought this was not the time to experiment and went with the usual white cardstock backing.

Hope that you like these and are inspired for some of your own creations.

Happy creating everyone!

Watercolour Pencil Class #7 - Hello Sunshine Class Photos

Today I am sharing some class photos with you. Remember this class posting? Well, yesterday we had that class. Our watercolour pencil classes are always wonderful. Some of the ladies even commented how relaxing they find the watercolour pencil classes to be. It is also great to see how everyone's style of painting varies. I have to say that I did forget to take the photos toward the end where you could see more of the completed works for their cards.

Here you see everyone focusing on their work. A wonderful group of ladies. And here are photos of their work close up.

Thank you ladies for coming to the class. I hope you enjoyed learning the 'wet pencil' technique.

For our next class in May, we will be painting Peonies!

Watercolour Pencil With Altenew "Hello Sunshine"

Hello again!

You get two posts today! The class was posted at the Studio so I have the info needed to post it on my blog.

For this class we are using another Altenew stamp set, and these are the two pieces we will create with our watercolour pencils.

WATERCOLOUR PENCIL CLASS #7

DATE:
Saturday, March 24th
TIME:10:00 - 12:00 (12:30)
COST: $25.00 + GST
To register for this class, contact Stacey at sbebc2011@gmail.com  or  778-533-4290

For this watercolour pencil class we will be using the ‘wet pencil’ technique.
First we will watercolour a leaf filled background and colour flowers separately, after which, we will then fussy cut them out and pop them up over the leafy background. This will be all set and ready to attach to a mat onto your card.

Second, we will create a quicker piece with a sunshine background with leafy border edges at the top and bottom.

Both pieces will be stamped with the stamps from the Altenew “Hello Sunshine” stamp set. If you would like your own set, a very versatile set that also can be bundled with a die set, be sure to order it from Stacey if you would like to have this set for further creative projects.

BRING TO CLASS: Your first class sampler, all your watercolour pencils, watercolour brushes & water or Aqua brushes, scissors for fussy cutting, and pop ups/dimensionals. Note book and pencil if you wish.

Here we can have a closer look at each piece.

As you can see we are painting a leafy background with the stamps first and then painting the flowers, cutting them out and arranging them over the leaves.

For the second one we will be painting with yellows and greens.

I think you are going to love the wet pencil technique in this class. Here is a look at the very versatile stamp set from Altenew, There is a die set bundle as well if you are interested. Just let Stacey know.

Thank you for stopping by a second time today to have a look at this next watercolour pencil class at the end of the month.

Happy painting!
