I'm back in the world of blogs. I have not felt much like dealing with anything for the last couple months...since by dearest friend, Barb passed away. I am thankful she is no longer in pain, but I miss her every day.
I finished Monopoly quite awhile ago, but failed to post a pic (oh the shame)... finished the last stitch on April 27th.
I was sorting through my magazines and found this finish stuffed in one of them...good grief! I'm not sure if I posted it before..so I figured I would share because it's so darn cute! (Excuse the shadow..I was being lazy)
Here is a progress pic on 272 words. I have been stitching like crazy on this one. I have already finished two more pages since this pic was taken last week. I will work on getting a pic that can be enlarged... It's the declaration of independence for those who are not familiar with the design.
Last, but not least.... I won a contest that inkkfreakk sponsored on her blog a very long time ago. I won 5 skeins of her hand dyed thread. This is some gorgeous fiber! The colors are rich and full, the thread is soft..I can't tell any difference between it and WDW or GAST...seriously. If you are able to try some, I highly recommend it!
Finally, I leave you with the view from our house. We are about two minutes from the busiest part of town, btw :)
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! Thank you for stopping by :)

March Already?
Where did February go? I thought I had done a blog post a 'couple' of weeks ago...yikes!
Welcome back to my blog..I have some project pics for you! Dave and I have both been busy crafting this winter :)
Here is a piece I did for Dave's mom. I am ashamed that I have not finished it, yet. It gave me a bit of grief, I found a mistake pretty far in and did not want to frog it all for one stitch. So...I ended up duplicating the mistake on the other side. That is harder than you think. I should not do mirror image stitching projects :)
I made this and I am very unhappy with how it turned out. The picture doesn't show the problem....if you are looking at it from a ways off...or at an angle...the word 'tinsel' does not show up. I should have frogged it and replaced it...but no...I'm not one to do the smart thing. Mom finished it up ( I should also mention that I picked a totally inappropriate backing fabric, as well...it has a design that needs to be upright. Let's just say that's not how it worked out. My mom did the finishing...she called me to tell me about the material I picked and by that point I was so frustrated I told her to just go ahead and make it! lol.
Monopoly is going well...but I have recently lost my stitching mojo :( It's so close, too! We decided on the original Monopoly board center...the one without the little man on top. (Elaine did the newer verson) I can't imagine ever having enough money to frame it...but we will see. In a perfect world you could put it under a glass topped coffee table and actually use it! Ah, to dream :)
Much to my mother's shock (I had to make sure she was sitting before I told her), I got out my one UFO and worked on it a few weeks ago. It's going to be a tree skirt/table topper and I started it in October of 1999. It's not a bad stitch..I don't know why I put it 'away'.
272 Words is still waiting for Monopoly to get finished so it can get some attention....
Dave has been latch hooking like crazy....
Finally, I leave you with my cutest desk decoration...it makes me smile every day. Eeyore holding his pooh doll :) (and another eeyore friend for good measure)
Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Thanks so much for visiting my blog :)

Some January this and that
Hello friends! I'm writing this from the frozen Montana tundra. We are snowed in , fogged in and running at zero degrees at night. Such fun! The fog/inversion is causing lots of air problems. Missoula is the draw of 5 Valleys...and the air doesn't move out very well. It's gorgeous, though!
First off, I want to give Meari a huge thank you for the lovely ornament she sent for the CSE exchange. I absolutely love it, and it is staying out all year (in my office).
From Meari; CSE exchange
Cats are supposed to be creatures of habit, but Kaylee found a new place to sit. It's her toy basket! Trust me..it's full of toys, but "slim" is completely covering them all! Cracked me up when she crawled in it! Yes..I did pick the basket up so Dave could see (he was in bed, reading).
"slim"
I have seen these in multiple places this year. My friend Camille made some to sell at a craft fair, and gifted us with my favorite! It's a sort of memory jar. You write 'events' down during the course of the year, put them in the jar and read all of them on Dec 31st. Dave and I have already started filling it!
Last, but not least...I AM A WINNER!! hehe. I was at the convenience store down the street and saw a giveaway for a rather large coca cola polar bear. For some reason I felt I needed this bear, and signed up for the drawing. Dave woke me up a few days after Christmas...the store called and I won! Pleeeeaaaase don't ask me what I am going to do with it..I have no idea! After I get tired of it I will probably donate it to the YWCA women's shelter to use in their 'safe room'. A place where dads can come for supervised visits with their kids. I gave a huge dog to them a couple years ago..they loved it so much they searched me out and sent me a thank you card! At the moment he is in his bag hiding in the bedroom. Dave named him "Harry Harrison" LOL
Have a wonderful weekend, I hope everyone is staying warm :)
Thanks for visiting my blog, I do appreciate it.

Happy New Year!
We have lived through the apocalypse! How fabulous :)
I've got a few misc photos to share...
My mom knows how much I love doing the Christmas Advent Exchange in CSE every year. We did not have the exchange this year..so she made me an advent package! She made the whole thing from scratch..saw a pic on the internet. I was stunned! Each triangle shape had a gift in it. Dave and I had much fin opening one each day :) Thanks, mom!
I have tried to get Dave to Cross Stitch..that is SO not going to happen, lol. However, he does do latch hook. He made this rug (his 4th project of 2012) for my mom's Christmas gift. Her bedroom is in purples and it turned out beautifully! (He's doing a white tiger now. Did a lion and two small projects as well) I'm glad I could include some cat toys in the picture! lol
Happy New Year to everyone!

Ornament given and received
I'm a ashamed that it's taken me so long to post about the wonderful Halloween ornament I received from Shelley in a CSE exchange. I absolutely love it! It is staying out in my office all year long :)
For the CSE Christmas ornament exchange, I sent to Sarah, a new member of the group. I picked a design that I had made before...for myself...and have always loved it. I did not put a hanger on it because I like it as a 'pillow' and just set it on a branch.
Since Dave was laid off we have been doing a lot of puzzles. This one the whole family liked...
No..of course we don't let Kaylee on the table..never, never, never... She's a sneaky little thing and I had to snap this pic before I put her down :) That puzzle was a nightmare. Dave spent a few days trying each black piece in each spot. We like a challenging puzzle..but yikes!
Finally, Elaine was kind enough to give me a wonderful blog award. Thank you very much! It made me smile :)
Have a safe weekend, everyone. Thank you for visiting my blog!

Stash Galore! Part One
It's been a few weeks since my last post. The first week I was sick, the second week I was in Texas visiting a friend and last week I was working to catch up.
I spent five days in Wharton TX with my dear friend, Barb. She wanted me to go through all her stash and pick out what I wanted. I initially had a very hard time doing that, but Barb kept saying "Will you just take it!", lol. After a few days I had managed to mail 4 boxes home and stuff both suitcases as full as possible. Here is some of what I unpacked after getting home.
Huge stack of freebies. Lizzie Kate with charms and the Red Thread collection!
Kits and more kits (I already had the cat:)
and more kits...
and more kits and some kitted up charts
and even more kits!
Mags and fabric
|
I will post the second half in a few days. Thank you so much, Miss Barb! I am having a blast going through all of my "new" stash (again, lol).
Thank you for dropping by,

A finish and a WIP
I am completely shocked that I have posted so many weeks in a row... what is the world coming to??
I finished this cutie a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure who is going to receive it, yet.
World of Cross Stitching Freebie
Here is my progress on 272 words. It's fun to stitch, but a Pita as I'm not carrying thread from one letter to another. The fabby is thin enough I'm afraid it will show.
Of course...the only thing I've had to frog so far is 'proposition' the longest word, yet. sigh. Got the spacing off by 1/2 square...that is the worst thing about linen!
Have a good weekend!

Good Riddance!
Four the last four or five weeks we have had severe smoke problems. Last week it was advised that everyone stay inside. This is what it looked like from my back porch
On Tuesday we were granted a reprieve! No more coughing, watery eyes, feeling sick :) You can use the telephone pole for reference...it is the exact same shot!
I've been busy working this week, not much time for stitching. I plan to stitch during football tonight :)
Thanks for visiting my blog, I appreciate your comments!

Small finish, WIP and chatter
I decided to work on a small piece. Even though the backstitching was horrid, I think it turned out well. It should be at it's new home by now. It was a birthday gift for Barb.
I have been working on 272 words but have not taken a progress pic. I also have one other small finish i want to share. I'd better save something for next time, though!
I am also taking some pictures of the 'air' here in western MT. For the last 4 to 6 weeks we have been smothered with a thick layer of smoke. The forest fires are running rampant, and the smoke settles in the valleys. You step outside and it smells and tastes like your neighbors have a bonfire going. Ash falls everywhere, just like rain. It has been going on for so long that even healthy people are advised to stay indoors. I hope to get a couple pictures that will show the severity of the situation. It is not supposed to change any time soon.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone :)

MS freebie card kit
It was a freebie with one of the British mags. I made it into a card, but forgot to take a pic before I mailed it, of course :(
I love Margaret Sherry's pieces, especially her cute cats.
Here is an update on Monopoly:
I think the wrinkles add to it..pfft!
