Mixed Media Mini Album

Hello friends!  Debbie with you today sharing a little mixed media album.  This little album holds pocket sleeves for those cute little photos and journaling.  It makes a perfect gift!  to decorate this little album I used Gina's Designs Butterfly Corner Top and Bottom.  I'll start off sharing the front and back covers.

The steps I took to complete this album were simple.
1. Gesso the whole album inside and out.
2 Add Stenciling with modeling paste and your favorite stencil
3. Use your  heat gun to dry everything
4. Spray with your favorite sprays, I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in 4 different colors.
5. Rub with DecoArt Metallic Rub
6. Stamp and embellish

The final step I took was to add sequins.  I dipped a paint brush into gel medium and then into my sequins and simply painted them on.

"Let it Snow" - a Layout by Debbie

Hi everyone!  Debbie with you today sharing a snowy layout using Gina's Designs Winter Shape set. We have been experiencing a little winter here where I live and while I was enjoying fall and some beautiful warm days, winter was bound to show up.  Gina's Winter Shape Set has the perfect embellishments for this snowy layout!

When I started working on this I wanted it to feel frosty and frozen so I added some Glimmer Mist in an appropriate color called Glacier.  I also used a color called Amethyst for this layout.  To alter the snowflakes, tree and title, I gave them a quick coat of gesso and then simply embossed them with a silvery-glittered white embossing powder.  While I was heating the embossing powder, I sprayed glimmer mist on the pieces so that they mica would embed into the embossing powder.

Fall Card Set by Debbie

Hi friends!  Today I'm sharing a fun Fall card set that I created using Gina's Fall Shape Set.  This set of chipboard pieces has so many fun pieces in it that I have gotten several projects out of this set.
To alter the chipboard pieces I simply inked them with VersaMark and then added two different colors of embossing powder.  Next I rubbed them with Deco Art Metallic Rub and then simply inked the edges.

Snowy Trees by Debbie

Hello friends!  Debbie with you today sharing a snowy layout, yes we have had our first snow already, however this photos is not recent.  I took this photo a few years ago but thought it was appropriate for the season.  The Pine trees are lasercuts by Gina's Designs.

I used a quick and easy technique on these trees.  I simply used a stencil and modeling paste to add the texture/pattern to the trees.

After drying I painted them with white acrylic paint, sprayed with some Tattered Angels and rubbed them with Metallic Rub in Silver.

Ink the edges and they are finished!

Autumn Pocket Letter

Hello friends and welcome to Gina's Designs!  Debbie with you today sharing a trendy new project called Pocket Letters.  This one was especially fun because it's my first one and it was exciting to create!  I used the Fall Shape Set to create this fun project.

To decorate my Fall Shape pieces I started out covering them with Gesso.  When they dried I painted them with H2O's in fall colors.  I added 2 or 3 coats to give them intense color and to finish them rubbed them with Metallic rub.

When everything was dry I embellished them with flowers and small embellishments.

Hope you give this fun project a try!  I will be doing MORE of them! Thanks for stopping by Gina's today!

Halloween Layout

Hello friends!!  Debbie with you today, it's that fun time of year again when all the fun costumes and candy come out!  Today I'm sharing a fun Halloween layout with you, the photo is of two of my grandkids in costume.  This particular year they were the 3 little pigs and the big bad wolf. As you can see the little piggy wasn't too scared of the big bad wolf.

For this layout I used the Border Halloween.  Such a perfect embellishment for this fun layout.  Here are the steps I took to decorate this piece.

Cover chipboard with black Gesso.

  Paint pieces.
Cover piece with Versamark clear embossing ink.
 Cover pieces with embossing powder

Hope you enjoyed this simple technique.  Thanks for stopping by Gina's Blog today!!

Scrap room organization with Gina's Designs

Hello friends!  Debbie with you today sharing my 12x12 Paper Holder.  I decided to do something different with mine besides store paper, I decided to use mine for finished scrapbook layouts as I ready them for storage.

This is what Gina's 12x12 Paper Holder looks like after you assemble it.  It's super easy to put together and I used Tacky glue to assemble it. It dries fast and you're ready to work on your project.

I simply adhered patterned paper to my holder with Gel Medium and painted the inside slots with a cream colored acrylic paint. The gel medium allows you to easily slide your paper into place.

Next I used a stencil and modeling paste to add some texture to the sides, back and bottom of my paper holder.

When it's all dry, ink all the edges and add your paper or layouts. I finished it off with Wood Wall Art Winged Things

Hope you'll give this project a try! Thanks for stopping by Gina's blog today!!!

Gina's Designs Leafy Corner Set

Hi friends!  Debbie with you today sharing a fun envelope mini album with a sleeve to store it in. For years I've kept a day planner to keep my life organized and this is one of the storage covers and sleeves that comes with my planner sheets every year.  I was wondering what to do with all of them and finally decided to cover them with patterned paper and embellish them with some beautiful Leafy Corner I had from Gina's store.

To decorate the outside sleeve I covered it with patterned paper and stenciled it with a beautiful stencil created by one of my good friends.  I painted my pieces of chipboard with a deep burgundy color and then highlighted it all with Inka Gold.

To finish off my pieces I added gold embossing powder and adhesive gemstones and flowers.

Here are a few additional photos, the inside of the mini album is made with envelopes.

I hope you give this technique a try, it's fairly fast and easy and it looks beautiful when you're finished!

Happy Harvest Fall Layout

Hi everyone! Debbie with you today sharing my Happy Harvest Fall layout using Gina's Designs Laser Cuts and a fun photo I took of the porch decorations in our neighborhood.  This sweet crow caught my eye and I knew there was a scrapbook page waiting to be created with her cute photo on it!

I started this layout by building the background and layering on the photo mats.  The torn mats give it a tattered look which fit the photo perfectly!  I simply inked them and popped them up with cardboard to give them some dimension.  I tucked in a little burlap between the layers  to give it some more depth.

The technique I used for the chipboard is a simple one, acrylic paint, ink, and metallic rubs in several colors.

I stamped a texture on each of the acorns and basket and and layered the acorns around the squirrel and the apples in the basket. When everything was dry I added the metallic rubs to make everything pop.  When this was complete, I embellished the layout with fall colored flowers and leaves.

The great part about all these chipboard pieces is the come in one set with many more pieces to use on several projects!!!  Love this set and you will see more of it in the weeks to come!

Simple Pleasures Beach layout with Gina's Designs

Hello friends! Happy Labor Day weekend!
Welcome to Gina's Designs blog, Debbie with you today! With summer coming to an end and the snow will soon fly where I live,  I'd thought I'd share a fun beach layout with you all. I love beaches and my water sign draws me to them. I've always wanted to live on a beach and maybe someday my dream to do that will happen. Sometimes even living as far from a beach as I do you dream you are there and while I was designing this layout it felt like I was right there. This pier is in Belize.

I simply used acrylic paint for my chipboard pieces, inked them and rubbed them with Metallic rubs from DecoArt.

I gave the frame a Patina feel...it just felt like it fit.   Thanks for stopping by today!
