Using some wonderful free graphics that I found over at The Graphics Fairy, I have been having a bit of fun this week in between dodging the rain showers, doing the school run, dog walking, and the usual day to day "stuff" .
If anyone is interested, I have prepared a tutorial showing what I did (and the mistakes and pitfalls!) and as I am currently experimenting with some other different methods I may do more tutorials if anyone would be interested.

So, any excuse NOT to get back on with what I should be doing, which is finishing painting the walls white in the sitting room before the new loose covers arrive.
Soon the next distraction will be new curtains or roman blinds - at the moment, as I could not bear to put back the old curtains we inheirited when we bought the house once I'd started to paint the room (and which we have lived with as they "matched" the rather dark gold walls that I have now finally painted over), and not wanting to start the curtain/fabric search just yet, I have temporarily hung two mismatched pairs of old floral curtains.
My 17 year old daughter thinks we should keep it like this as they are "cute" and its different to have non-matching floral pairs - hmm, I don't think so!
Wishing you all a very Happy Weekend, and thanks for visiting.
