Family Day!

It’s Family Day for us in Ontario yet it doesn’t apply to everyone so unfortunately my dear daughter and husband are working.  I’ll be playing Wii with my son soon – uh oh! I’m really not very good at video games.

As it has been awhile since I’ve posted, I will share my Valentine cards with you. Since the beginning of January, I’ve been taking part in a card challenge on the Cricut boards and have learned so much.

Here is the card for my dear Valentine and loving husband:
SAM_0648
Cricut – Accent Essentials for flowers; Sweethearts for Cherub, Elegant Edges for frames.  SEI Oasis cardstock and K&Company SW Nature

For my children, I gave them these cards along with some chocolates
SAM_0719
Cricut – Doodlecharms for Heart and Elegant Edges for Frame.  Ribbon was ruched by hand-stitching a diagonal stitch.  Hearts was cut in foil, embossed and then ink with Alcohol inks.

SAM_0721
A shaped butterfly card by welding 2 butterflies from Cricut Gypsy Wanderings.

For my dear brother and his family, I made a non traditional card with a very loving sentiment.
SAM_0662SAM_0665
Cricut – Ornamental Iron 2 for the frame, Jubilee for the banner and Joys of the Season for the lovebirds.  SEI Oasis paper and DCWV Shimmer Stack.

For my dear sister and friend – I used a similar Cricut cut from A Child’s Year cartridge but then created two distinct cards.

Hope you’re having a great day!  It looks like Spring is around the corner!

Theme of the day "Happy Anniversary"

My dear family and friends celebrated their wedding anniversary over the past few months - ranging from the 4 year mark to 55 wonderful years of wedded bliss.

For my dear nephew and his wife - the perfect pair card:

Recipe:  Recollections turquoise blue cardstock, scraps from SEI Oasis
Sweethearts Cartridge for the shoes and "perfect pair" phrase
Stamp Autumn Leaves
Pearl ribbon embellishment and "dream" grommet
The interesting fold for this card is a technique from Yoliebean

The next card was for my dear BFF and her husband:
Recipe:  Card base DCWV Shimmer Stack
Damask Decor Cartridge for the bird and intricate shape
"Joyeux Anniversaire" stamped on vellum

Next card was for my dear sister and her husband:

Recipe:  DCWV Shimmer stack for base and layers

Autum Leaves for Happy Anniversary stamp

And last, but not least, the card for my dear parents celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary:
Bazzil Green for base and dark blue for layer
Sweethearts Cartridge for Lovebirds
Mini  pearl embellishments and stamp with embossing powder

I will be back soon to give you more updates of my work!

Relaxing in my bath!

To mark the end of my daughter's second year of university, I made her a simple card.  Throughout the year, to manage her stress and to relax, she takes a bath.  So here is her card:

I used a free cartridge that I had received, called Ornamental Iron for the background using Bazzil cardstock and the silver is DCWV Shimmer.  I used  "A Child's Year" for the girl in the bath tub using DCWV Taj Mahal cardstock.  I didn't add any other embellishments.

Félicitations ma chérie!
