Fallish

 It´s been raining all day and there is a distinct smell of Fall in the air. I don´t mind much, it´s my favourite Season (although after our long winter the Spring does seem like a blessing!) and the colors to come soon are amazing! Work started and it´s been crazy busy- I try to look at one day at a time in my calendar since this week is pretty hectic. Long days at the "office" to get everything done and to get the feeling of actually "knowing what you are doing" after the long Summer break.
Tomorrow I have a gig with Tinker Bell and this Sunday will be Raspberry Fields Burlesque Fleamarket Vol2 - also with treats to buy since it is Ravintolapäivä (restaurant day in Helsinki). So take some cash with you and come find us AND some great second-hand at Vattuniemenkatu 15, Lauttasaari!

I was scrolling through some photos and found some of Emiliano took this past July. It was a warm day but the water was cold :) I´ll leave you with thoughts of that, a song and will continue to make currant juice and pickled cucumber...farmlife, what can I say!

P.S the song is a great spoof of the original R.Thicke-video where women parade around more than half-naked. It was on the radio nonstop in the States, that´s why.
This version (with gorgeous Sydni Deveraux and Luminous Pariah, among others) shows quite clearly how blind we have become to the sexualization of the female body. And I do like the female body but the original video had me raising eyebrows...not very classy nor very funny. Just plain...sexist. So if you find yourself thinking *this* video is strange ask yourself: why is it OK to show girls in thongs and nothing else, but not boys? Just sayin´.

Hay work!

It´s that time of the year again when people on farms are crossing fingers and hope for sun. Same here, we have asked people over to help today so we can pack in some 2000 hay bails but unfortunately it looks like we´ll get rain and have to do it tomorrow... Bleeeh! Let´s hope we get it done today - it´s much more fun to do with lots of people (than not). I´m driving up to Northern Carelia for just a couple of days as soon as the hay is in and by this time I´m counting days to our trip to Berlin-Wien-Klagenfurt! To get ya´ll in the mood for farmlife, here are some shots of me and Pepper, all taken by Emiliano Melandri.

Tomorrow me and Pepper Sparkles are having a photoshoot here at the farm with Emiliano Melantri, can´t wait! Also looking forward to some serious fan dance- pranctice since we are going to perform our duo both at Radisson SAS Mikonkatu on the 23rd of May and then Sauna Open Air-festival in June. Oh sweet Sunday!

The sun is shining, the coffee is black and bitter and I´m swearing myself off high heels for...well, at least 24h :) I´ve had such a great weekend! Roadtrip with Sandy on Friday to Turku for a private gig where I popped the cherry on my new number "Kiss" and last night Thee Dizzies had the pleasure of performing with Capital Beat, Tommy "Father Metro" Lindgren and The Backbeat Singers at the St.Patrick´s party @ Virgin Oil! The hoopla was hosted by Jameson whiskey and apparently some of the gig was streamed live to other parts of the world where similar shows were hosted. A big thank you to everybody in the band and at the venue and a special squeeze to the audience for rooting the roof off!
I thought I´d post some backstage pictures for you, there will be gig pics later taken by the wonderful Emiliano Melantri. In the words found in one of my heroes, Stephen Fry´s, book: " a small proportion to be spent on production, the rest on wine and senseless riot". If you can´t be good, be careful! Ta!

Short traslation: "We´re not responsible for stuff left backstage so lock the door". Response: "I´ll take anything that´s not screwed down" :)

When you have 6h to kill before the show hotel slippers come in really handy! Not so glam but oh! so comfy!
