"Aslan" pillow

My mums birthday is in August and her starsign is Leo so I thought the Lion from the Spectacular Savanna quilt by Elizabeth Hartman would make a great gift for her.
The Spectacular Savanna pattern provides not only the main quilt pattern but lots of other options, including ideas for pillows or smaller quilts.
Elizabeth Hartman has used Essex linens in her pattern so although most of this lion is quilting cotton, I used some linen in flax for his nose and ears.
I quilted this pillow with a cross-hatch design which gives it is nice texture.
And the back of the pillow is the gum leaf print from one of Emma Jean Jansens wide-quilt backings which was left over from my "Fabled" quilt.

Endgame mini quilt.

Jemina Flendt of Tied with a Ribbon patterns recently hosted a quiltalong to make the Endgame quilt.
I chose to sew the mini quilt version of the pattern which I could make into a pillow.
I used a variety of Tula Pink fabrics, mainly Zuma leftover from the Anchors Aweigh quilt.
The pattern was fairly easy to sew although some of those pesky points just didn't want to meet up!
The quilting was quite simple just following the lines of the triangles.
The pillow is bound in aqua to match many of the fabrics that were used in it.
And backed in a lovely deep blue shot cotton.
This was on my Q2 FAL 2019 list so linking up with the 2019 FAL team here.

Finish-along goals for Q2 2019.

Now that the weather is cooling down, I have quite a few things I am hoping to finish in this quarter...
 1. Gypsy Wife quilt: Most of the blocks are now made for this quilt so just need to put it all together and hopefully even get it quilted!
2. Nessie baby quilt: a cute pattern by Elizabeth Hartman which I am using for a baby quilt.
3. Heartland crochet blanket: I have used a couple of the balls of yarn but have quite a few to go...
4. Tula Pink Hurray for Hexies quilt: most of the hexagons are sewn together...
5. Corner to corner crochet baby blanket: about halfway there on this blanket...
6. Safari Meadowland quilt: I have made the blocks for the quilt top and just need to get it quilted...
7. End Game mini quilt: Just need to decide on how to finish this one...

8. Swiss quilt: I am digging into my Bonnie & Camille stash to remake a quilt I made for a gift last year.
9. A pretty pastel C2C blanket for a baby girl due soon...
10. And a baby quilt featuring this elephant print by Tula Pink.

Finish-along list for Q1 2019

I have a few newer projects on my to-do list as well as some carried over from last time...
1.Tula Pink Anchors Aweigh quilt: the quilt top is pieced and is being sent off to be quilted when the store opens after the Christmas break.
2. Heartland crochet blanket: I have used a couple of the balls of yarn but have quite a few to go...
3. Skipping Stones baby quilt #1: I used a jelly roll of the very cute Big Sky fabric to make this smaller version of the Stepping Stones quilt so it just needs to be quilted and bound.
4. Skipping stones baby quilt #2: as above...
5. Outlander quilt: Fabric pulled and thistles are ready to sew...
6. Tula Pink Hurray for Hexies quilt: most of the hexagons are sewn together...
7. Corner to corner crochet baby blanket: about halfway there on this blanket...
8. Rainbow Fish baby quilt: blocks are sewn and ready to be made into a baby quilt.
9. Deer baby quilt: a baby girl quilt ready to be quilted.
10.  Star Bright baby quilt: another flimsy waiting to be finished...
11. Gypsy Wife QAL:  Colour wheel block made - joining in with the QAL on IG hosted by Scrappy Violet (#2019gypsies  #2019gypsywifeQAL)
12. Swiss quilt: And as I am already digging into my stash of Bonnie & Camille fabrics, I would like to remake a quilt that I made for a gift last year.

Zuma Swoon pillow

The Swoon block is one of my all-time favourites to sew and it was the first project I made from some of the new Tula Pink "Zuma" fabrics.
This is the Swoon 16 block which finishes at 16" so it is a great size for a pillow.
The background fabric is a deep navy which I really love with the bright Zuma prints, and those amazing pops of neon.
I quilted it in a cross hatch pattern using a thread in a lovely shade of purplish-blue which is similar to the Tula Pink solid in Diva.
This pillow will be the perfect match to the Anchors Aweigh quilt which I am making from the aquamarine colourway of the Zuma fabrics.
A special thank you to Deanne @fabricpixie who took some beautiful photos of this pillow for me!
This was on my Q4 FAL list for this year so linking up with the 2018 FAL team.

Goals for Q4 Finish-A-Long!

For this last quarter of 2018, I am rolling over some unfinished projects from last quarter as well as a few new projects...

1. Zuma block: I used this vibrant new Tula Pink fabric to make a Swoon 16 block which I plan to make into a pillow to go with the Zuma Anchor quilt (see #5).
2. Infinity scarf: another crochet corner-to-corner scarf for a friend using this lovely Hue yarn.
3. Plus Squared quilt: using the pattern by Emily Dennis with these beautiful Aussie native fabrics by Jocelyn Proust - I have already made some of these blocks.
4. Chunky Crochet Cowl - using Lionbrand Woolease Thick and Quick yarn in Lemongrass.
5. Anchors Aweigh quilt: this is a Tula Pink pattern that I have always wanted to make and now I can sew it with the new Zuma range of fabrics.
6. White crochet C2C blanket for a baby girl.
7. Skipping Stones Quilt: using the pattern by Cindi McCracken for a quilt for my brothers birthday later this year.
8. Acadia corner-to- corner (C2C) blanket: I have quite a few balls of this Heartland yarn so hope to make a nice throw blanket for the bed.

9. Oh Deer baby quilt: a remake of the navy and orange baby boy quilt I made last year using the scrappy tripalong method of piecing.
10. Tula Pink - Hurray for Hexies EPP quilt: I have sewn most of the hexies in sets so now need to join them all together....
 11. Star bright baby quilt : the top is made - just needs quilting and binding.
12. Flannel baby quilt: blocks are made but I still need to finish off the flannel baby quilt.
