Xmas Again

yes, I have been making lots of Xmas cards this year.

Invited a friend over and there was a lot of painting of papers.  We cut,glued

and went crazy at the work table.

For over two weeks I have been adding 

ribbons,fibers and glitter.....seems like it took forever to finish all of them.

Seems I am very into pink and orange this year.

 Also copper and blue...............

and then started quite a few in silver and grey.......

Now I have to address all of these.  I wonder if I will get it all finished in time for

old Saint Nick.

I have not blogged for such a long time.  Life gets in the way sometimes....months went by

and it eventually turned into a year and then more months and here it is ......Christmas time,,,

again.

Pantone Color of the Year for 2014

 What a beautiful color isn't it....very radiant indeed.

I did not know that orchid was the color for 2014 when I made these

Xmas cards.   

 These trees were cut out of kleenex boxes.  At first I thought I would cut out EACH individual

mosaic stone,,,,well, after I cut out a few I quickly changed my mind and just cut out the 

shapes of a trees.

  The scraps after all that cutting.....or a big mess......

but after much painting, splashing and tearing it made me a nice stash of Xmas cards.

The color of the year for 2013 was emerald green and for 2012 was tangerine tango.

Eat Fresh 

Catch of the Day 

 I painted some watercolor shapes in various colors.

Then I cut them up and added the cat with his lunch for today....fresh fish. 

 Of course I had to use up some of my washi tape and twine.

Last but not least....the litter,,,,the whole Kat and Kaboooodle.

Roses

I had some time to make some bookmarks. 

Roses are one of my favorite flowers.

 A Pink, Green and Gray color combination.

I used Art Journey stamps with watercolor and finished them off with pen and ink.

A very bah humbug kitty kat....he may feel silly wearing Santa´s

hat but I told him he´ll get extra fish for dinner tonight so 

he agreed.

Considering how much snow we have gotten over the last few days I really

had to read this sentiment a few times today...especially everytime I went

out to shovel a bit more snow.

That Time of Year

Yes, it is that time of year again.  Everytime I turn around it seems

it is time to make some Christmas cards.

I put my elves to work,,,look at the calender.  Only five weeks

till the fat man brings.

A Few Cards

From my batch of lettering cards. I added some of my

favorite washi tapes.

Washi tape is so much fun to paste onto cards.

Peridot

I have been painting a lot of green papers this week

for bookbinding projects. I used some of one of the

papers to make a quick card with one of my favorite quotes.

This is my entry to Created By Hand, Crazy Amigos and

Paint Party Friday.

Connections II

Connections II

Today I have two bookmarks/tags as the second in

the Connections Series. The green ribbon is woven

through screw punched holes on the watercolored paper

and looped out on the upper left corner.

I then edged the piece with tissue tape.

Here I painted wet-in-wet shapes of green and yellow

watercolor and then punched holes for the yellow yarn.

As a final touch I added striped washi tape on the edges.

Before washi tape was all the rage I would mask off my

edges and draw stripes with various gel pens...washi tape

saves so much time.

FLY....if you dare

I painted some blue watercolor swatches and stamped

FLY.

Added some blackbirds and dotted washi tape

for their perch. Edged the card in black ink and

wrote... if you dare... with some black spritz for

fun and called it done.
