Next 5 HYCCT Challenge Cards

So I know this is odd for me to upload 10 cards in 2 days, but I was trying to play catch up...  So I am caught up now and you will only get a card or 2 a day now.  (I hope!)  So here we go again...

I love this card and the colors...  The teddy bear was made completely from circle punches and then I added the eyes and drew the nose, mouth, ear lines and paw lines.  I used my 1 3/8" punch and 3/4" punches.  The hearts were punched from my mini heart punch and I adhered a pearl to the centers.  I tied a cute ribbon and sentiment and my card was done..  I just love pink and brown together...

This is my next card for today.  The challenge was to use something on your card that has a handle.  This proved more difficult that I initially thought.  I realized I don't have any stamps that have handles really. I originally thought about making a purse, but I think the challenge has to be a card... So I stamped my mug and all other images and cut them out.  I added my cute heart to the mug and then added some liquid applique to the marshmallows and whipped cream and heat set to make puffy.  I tied a matching twine, added a sentiment and some sequins and I am happy with my card..

This card was an unbelievable happening..  This card had to use scraps that we had laying around.  I have a quite large bin that has items in it that at one time were going to be used for something and then I went another way leaving these beauties behind.  This is the case for the vertical strip of red with DSP.  The butterflies are all cut with the beautiful wings embosslits and all the ones you see were die cut and left behind.  Even the ribbon was sitting in my scrap bin all tied and ready to go...  The only part of this card that isn't a scrap is the base itself.  I love it when I am given a reason to use those scraps.  It's such a shame to let them go to waste or to put them aside and completely forget about them in the future...  Glad I was able to go through my bin and see what I had..  I plan to use more here soon...

This card hits pretty close to my heart.  This challenge was to make a card inspired by my "hero."  Could be a favorite sentiment, a person, a quote, anything.  Well my mom is my hero.  I literally talk to her daily and sometimes 3-4 times a day.  Without my mom I would be lost.  My junior year of high school my mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  I can't explain why I stayed home from school this day, but I saved my mom's life that day.  God knew why I was home.  In 2006 my mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and then in 2012 colon cancer.  My husband was prior military and I was not close to home these last 2 bouts.  That didn't stop me.  I towed my 5 children along with me in 2006 (6 month twins included) to take care of my mom, her home and my dad.  I am blessed to have been able to be there yet again.  Finally in 2012 my family had just relocated to Washington state 3000 miles from home. (Ohio)  Again this didn't stop me.  My husband watched over our 5 kids so that I could fly home to be by my mom's side.  I watched her emotions at their highest and their lowest, but one thing that never failed was her desire and drive to fight and survive.  A support system is critical during these times.  My mom is my hero now and forever...  I love you mom!!!

This is my final card to catch me up on the 10 challenges posted thus far.  This challenge was exactly that... A CHALLENGE!!!  We couldn't use any adhesives.  No pop dots, glue dots, mono adhesive, ATG, wet glue, etc.  Well count me out... This is impossible... Or is it?  So I have at least 4 layers to this card and not a single bit of adhesive to be found.  I adhered my red strip and 3 hearts with staples covered with these adorable heart brads.  I then attached my smaller hearts with adorable tiny heart brads.  I then dusted off some eyelets and attached the bottom of my cardstock with eyelets and twine.  So you see this wasn't impossible.... As a matter of fact this was quite the opposite.  Think outside the box and you will be impressed with what you can come up with if you just try..  So these are my 5 cards today.  I hope you have enjoyed my cards so far.  Keep following along with me the rest of the month as I desperately try to complete all of the challenges up through October 31st.  Wish me luck... And until next time..  Happy Stamping all..

Live Simply

So real quick post today before I head off to work...  This is my card for today's sketch challenge... What a cool sketch today...  I decided immediately that I wanted to use either flowers or butterflies and well since I can't put down my new sets Flower Shop and Petite Petals, I decided to pull out my butterflies...

There really isn't much to this card today.  I threaded some lt pink organdy ribbon through the top of my lace and tied a bow, cut out my oval with nestabilities, stamped my butterflies and punched them and then added some beautiful red pearls.  So very super simple today...  I hope you like what I have done with this challenge..  Please let me know what you think.  I love to hear your comments...  Until next time...

Fall Rosettes

I did this card for today's "rosette" challenge.. I love the look of the rosettes but they are just too bulky and don't mail well... So I thought I would try and make these a little smaller...
I scored at every 1/8" instead of every 1/4" so that I would get a flatter rosette... And how cool that it looks exactly the same and gives the same look in dimension as well and I can mail this a lot easier now... I stamped my main image using Ranger Distress ink and colored with my copic markers. I then took a strip of "tear"ific tape and covered my image and peeled the second backing off to expose the sticky and added glitter to my entire image. I then matted the main panel onto a scallop rectangle panel and added my rosettes. I really like how this turned out and I love the "covered with glitter" technique that can be found at Sparkle N Sprinkle... Thank you so much for stopping by today... Happy Stamping!!!

Butterflies Of Inspiration

I made this card for the inspiration challenge over at splitcoast. I love butterflies and when I was browsing the website, I came upon butterflies galore. I really couldn't pick one image as an inspiration so I used multiple....
My card base is soft suede and then it's layered with DSP. I cut out the ovals with my spellbinders nestabilities and attached to my DSP. I stamped my image, added my ribbon and then the butterflies. I used 2-way glue on my butterflies and added dazzling diamonds. The DSP has a hint of glitter and embossing so the butterflies coordinate really well with this DSP. I hope you like what I have done with this challenge. Thank you so much for stopping by. I would love to know what you think... Happy Stamping!!!

"Sporty" CAS Challenge

The challenge is to pick your favorite team's colors and create a card using those colors. The card doesn't have to contain anything to do with sports except for the colors. I had a couple ideas so I made a couple cards for this challenge... The first one if a combination of my kid's school colors since they are in 3 different school...
I used the ribbon below the scallop to make it look like a winners ribbon... I did choose to go with the sport theme all around with this one and I like how it turned out given I am really not that good with CAS cards..
My next card is in honor of my home state and the good ole Ohio State Buckeyes... Scarlet and Gray... I wish my butterfly trails were a little bit skinnier but they didn't turn out that way. I could have used a marker and done them gray, but I wanted them a little shinier like their jerseys so I embossed them with silver and unfortunately the thickness of the lines is a result of the versamarker... The butterflies were made using the butterfly embosslit from Stampin Up!... My last card is probably the most important card with the most important colors out there...
There really isn't anything to explain about this card. It was very simple to put together and I only have three words to say about this card: DALLAS COWBOYS BABY!!!!!! Thanks for taking the time to look at my CAS cards today.. I hope you enjoy what I have done for you. Happy Stamping!!!

Mosaic Blue Butterflies

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CARD!!!!
There isn't anything about this card I would change... I picked out this DSP and the colors just go so well together... I chose to do the glitter mosaic technique with these colors and it looks awesome... The glitter is Aqua Marine Glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle. This color is a beautiful mix of blue/green. The butterflies are coated with Green Iris glitter also from Sparkle N Sprinkle.. It's no secret that green is my favorite color so I am super pleased with this card... I hope you enjoy and will give this technique a try... Happy stamping!!!

Featured Butterflies

This is my card for the FS challenge. I have had laptop issues so wasn't able to upload before now.. I chose to case this lovely card: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...;ppuser=120847 I changed the image, the sentiment and the green. I used Lucky Limeade. I didn't want to change much on this card because I just thought it was perfect the way it was...

Feeling Blue?

Today is a much better day than yesterday and so I can say that I am no longer feeling blue, but since the color challenge today was monochromatic blues... I guess I am a little blue today...
There really are no details for this card... It was super simple and I did choose to add the "dessert" option of adding a swirl somewhere on my card... Thanks so much for stopping by today... Happy Stamping!!!

For A Dear Friend

This is my card for today's sketch challenge... Such a wonderful sketch which allows for a larger die cut center... This card is very difficult to photograph because I used a bit of clear embossing powder but I have included a few extra photos on here
so that you can really see the embossing details on this card. I embossed all three flower images inside my circle, the word friend in the ovals and all 3 butterflies...
This was a pretty simple card to put together but it was pretty time consuming due to all of the embossing that I did... I also used my stampin write markers to make the 4 images on my candle. I stamped on tissue paper and adhered to candle.
I added some glitter detail to the tiny flowers on the candle and attached them with cute pink brads. (I toyed with glittering the brads too but I left them alone... THIS TIME!!!!) The finish touch to the candle is my double ribbon in pink and yellow that I also slightly melted to give it the curled look... (Be careful not to burn or melt your ribbon as organdy is very delicate and doesn't take long to heat) I hope you enjoyed what I have done here... Happy Stamping!!!

DT Submission

Thank you for stopping by today... This is a special day for me as I just recently submitted the following 4 cards to a company for a DT contest they were running... I hope my photography meets their standards and that they find my work compatible with the rest of the DT. I miss being part of a group of stampers that help inspire others with their work. In the past I was on Riley's color dare team and Lori's DDIC team and I miss working with those ladies. I am hoping to become part of another team of stampers that share their inspirations and ideas with others. So here are the 4 cards I chose to create for my submission. Wish me luck in my current adventure..
Thank you so much for stopping by. Please let me know what you think. Your comments inspire me to continue or strive to do better... Happy Stamping!!!

Milk Cartons galore

I wanted to play around a little bit today with some of my new stuff and since I really liked the colors today, I decided to make my milk carton with the challenge colors.. Everything on this card is Stampin Up including the flower.. I hope you like what I have done with the milk carton die.. It is truly an adorable and must have die... If you don't have it... Get it!!!
I was sitting in my stamp room today and my 8 year old son came in and asked if "we" (the kids) could make milk cartons today... So I had all of the kids pick a color and cut out their milk cartons.. This is the one I made with them and I absolutely love it... The flower is made with the scallop punch from Stampin Up!... **To make the flower with the scallop punch cut in towards the center in between all of the scallops making sure not to cut all the way to the center. My red milk carton used 3 scallops and the purple used 2. Make sure you off set your "petals" so they aren't right on top of each other.*** I hope you will try this flower.. It is easy and adorable... Happy Stamping!!!
