Golden Poinsettias

I made a few different Christmas cards to send out this year but this is by far my favorite one...  I can honestly say that this took me so long to make that my mom and dad were the only ones to receive it...  My mom is big into crafting and she allows me to enable her with all the wonderful products  I find and since I love them, she does too and ends up getting them too...  So she deserved this card and then some...

I started with shimmer gold cardstock and layered with neenah solar white that I ran though with my snowflake embossing folder.  This was the easy part...  The poinsettias are what took all the time to create...  The 2 smaller poinsettias have 3 layers and the larger one has 4.  I stamped the layers individually and then embossed them.  I used my Spellbinder's poinsettia dies to cut out all the layers.  I then adhered the layers together to create my flowers...  Probably doesn't seem like a lot of work, but the dies had to line up perfectly with the stamped image to look right...  Had quite a few mess ups...  I then stamped and embossed my sentiment and cut out with spellbinders ovals and scallop oval dies.  I added some gold balls and a gold cord to finish off this card...  I love the look of this and I really wish it were easily duplicated because I would have loved to find the time to create more of these to send...  That being said, I like how all of my Christmas cards turned out...  Some of you will see them when they show up in your mailbox and you aren't even expecting one...  ;)  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my card today...  I would love to know what you think...

Creepy Crawly Spiders

I REALLY don't like spiders... Or any bug that moves for that fact, but I think these little guys are adorable.. Maybe because they don't move, or look furry, or jump....
Here is my card for today's Creepy Crawly challenge... I had fun making this card and I really like how it turned out... I embossed my background and then added crochet thread to further detail the web. I finished my card off with googlie eyes on my spiders... So cute!! I hope you like my card today. This is the first card I have made in a while that doesn't have glitter on it... :( Maybe I should fix it.. LOL!!! Happy Stamping!!!

Fall Leaves

I made this card for today's challenge over at splitcoast. We had to use leaves in fall colors.
I chose to make flowers with my leaves also in fall colors... The flowers are made by die cutting the 4 smallest sized of the petite scallop circle dies and cutting slits in between every 2 scallops. I made these from More Mustard cardstock. My leaves are die cut from spellbinders foliage die in Old Olive cardstock and my foliage is punched with Martha Stewarts branch punch in Always Artichoke. I really like the way this card came together.

My Fun Day

I spent my day working on a couple cards for a tutorial and I wanted to share my end results with everyone... I had so much fun creating these cards and I am so happy with how they turned out... All images, glitters and embossing powders can be purchased from Sparkle N Sprinkle Here is my first card...
This is a Digi image that I altered slightly to add my glittered stars... The original image has snow falling in the background where I punched my stars.. I kept this one simple and just added a pretty ribbon and bow to the top. I used my heat tool to "curl" my ribbon slightly... My next card turned out better than I had expected and I am truly pleased with the final product here.......
I cut out the delicate butterfly with cardstock and then the "shadow" butterfly with Super Adhesive Sheets (also purchasable at Sparkle N Sprinkle). I then adhered the delicate butterfly onto the shadow one and added this GORGEOUS turquoise flock. I don't use flock often because it typically doesn't turn out well for me but this one I think is very elegant and the colors worked great... My final card is my favorite one...
This is truly one of my favorite images right now.. Now only are lilies among my few favorite flowers, but these just look great... If you don't own Copic markers... GO BUY THEM... You are missing out... I know they are difficult to work with at first, but once you finally understand them and get how they work, you will wonder how you lasted so long without them and you will NEVER look back... Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoy what I have done here. Let me know what you think... Happy Stamping!!!

Glittered Polka Dot Hearts

I did this card for today's technique challenge at splitcoast. We had to make our own polka dots. I chose to make my polka dots with my cuttlebug embossing folder... I am not as happy with the polka dots as I am my glittered hearts... I was messing around with my new small heart punch and this is what I came up with and I am super happy with the finished product.
To get the glittered hearts, I punched out the hearts with my small punch and added 1/4" "tear"ific tape to the backside. (The 1/4" is the perfect size to cover the openings. I then added my glitter to the openings. I really love this card and I think the colors are great together... I love going to retired colors for inspiration... I hope you like what I did today... Please let me know what you think as your comments are always welcomed... The glitter and "tear"ific tape can be purchased at Sparkle N Sprinkle.... Happy Stamping!!!

Riley Birthday

So I needed a cutesie kids birthday card and today's challenge over at splitcoast was to make a birthday card... I am feeling a little under the weather today so
I know this isn't by best work by any means, but I wanted to stamp a little bit anyway... So this is a pretty simple card... I colored a few different images yesterday with my copic markers and this cute little Balloon Riley was one of them... I cute him out with the rectangle spellbinders die and mounted him onto a scallop rectangle. I then cut my layers to size and ran the white through the big shot with the birthday embossing folder. I added a few stickles to some areas for detail and layered my card.. I added a sentiment and ribbon to the main images... Really simple... please let me know what you think. Your comments are always welcomed... Thanks for stopping by.. Happy Stamping!!!

Glitter Mosaic

I was playing around in my stamp room this weekend and made a couple cards just because. This is one in particular that I did. I love this glitter technique and I think it looks so cool... Super simple to create but such a detailed look... Just love it...

The last of my DTGD Challenge Cards

This first card is pretty simple and self explanatory... I cuttlebugged the background and added a few buttons. My image was stamped and cut out using spellbinders circle dies and adhered with dimensionals. The ribbon is a very old river rock ribbon that Stampin Up used to carry.
Another simple on here for you to view... I wanted the hexagons to be center stage so I stamped my image and cut out with oval punches, I beaded the corsage pin and put through the centers of a couple primas and tied a ribbon with a slightly fancier bow. Simple right?
And my favorite card of the week... I LOVE how this card turned out... From start to finish it just fell in line so nicely. I used a gorgeous floral DSP that I have and matted it with Melon Mambo cardstock. I used a small piece of Pretty in Pink that I ran through my cuttlebug and I adhered some flower brads that I added some gorgeous Pink Glitter too... (The glitter was mixed with embossing powder to ensure sticking to the brad) I tied a soft pink ribbon across the bottom and I am super happy... I hope you have enjoyed my cards this week... There were 38 challenges and there was just no way I was going to get all of them finished with everything else I have on my plate right now so I am very happy with the 15 I did finish!!! Thanks for stopping by Happy Stamping!!!

DTGD Challenges 9-12

I truly apologize for posting all of these cards in 1 blog post but it is really late at night and I am exhausted but I wanted to get these posted before I forgot... This card is extremely simple to create and uses the cracked glass technique. I then layered my image onto a cuttlebug background added the lace to look almose like a window and my sentiment... The inspiration piece this came from had a small pop of purple so that got added as well.
This next card couldn't possibly have any more bling on it if it tried... I used the glitter lace technique to create my background and then added some flowers in different shades of pink to match. I added some rhinestones and my silver embossed sentiment... This card is stunning and shiny IRL.
This next card is a simple one too... Boy has it been hot out and these are some "HOT" colors. I am not a fan or orange but these work together beautifully. I had this DSP sitting around in my craft room for some time and was finally give a reason to dust it off and cut it... Give it a go... You will like it too.
Now for my favorite card from today... This cute little cupcake is a card... It took some time to cut out, but the Hello Kitty cricut cartridge lets you cut all of the images out as cards... HOW AWESOME!!! It is pretty time consuming to cut out all of the coordinating parts but it was so worth it.. This is a little girls dream... Ok well for my 6 year old twins it was... Their birthday isn't until March and they have both requested a card like this for their birthday.... And they both told me it had to be just as shiny... How cute!!!

DTGD Challenge #8

This is my 8th DTGD challenge card...I am also uploading this card for the Loves Rubber Stamps Challenge. I absolutely love making paper flowers and I love coming up with ways to display them... They are a little trickier to send in the mail, but they are so worth it and the person receiving the card will light up with happiness and it will be worth the efforts... I used 4 different sizes of the grand peony die to create this flower and I cut out 3 of each size... I used a flower tool kit to give the paper flower like details. I then glued the leaves together on one of the smallest flowers to create the center bud. I tied my ribbon behind my flower and added my sentiment.. Easy peasy card except for the time to create the flower... I hope you like my card today... Please let me know what you think... Happy Stamping!!!

DTGD Challenge #3

This is my card for the DTGD challenge to do a masculine card... This challenge for me will definitely be one of the hardest... I have an extremely difficult time creating masculine cards and they always seem to end up a little girly anyway... I really tried to keep this one as masculine as possible... No ribbons or bows, no flowers or glitters, no buttons or rhinestones... Just good ole hardware and twill... I don't really know how I feel about this card as of yet but to try and make another one would probably be the death of me.. When I said I had a hard time making masculine cards, I was completely serious... I own mostly flower and girly stamp sets... I rarely make cards for men and when I do they are usually pretty boring and not worth sharing... So this is my attempt at this challenge anyway and I hope you guys like it... Happy Stamping!!!

Butterfly Love

Here is my card for today's sketch challenge.. I was a little intimidated by this sketch, but when my mailman dropped off my package today containing my Wonderful Wings dies, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this sketch... I had fun playing along. This was a super simple card with little details.. I chose to add some stickles to my butterfly a ribbon and a few black stones... I wanted to keep my butterfly the main focus of my card since it's such a beautiful die cut... Thank you so much for stopping by. I would love to know what you think. Happy Stamping!!!

With Love

This is my card for today's color challenge... Raspberry Ripple Pink Pirouette Crumb Cake I don't have any crumb cake but a friend told me that kraft was the same color renamed... So the ribbon is kraft colored organdy ribbon and my leaves are stamped in brown but for some reason they look a little greenish in the photo... This is a truly awesome color combination and I loved working with it... I stamped my flowers and leaves with versamark ink and embossed with Whinter White embossing powder. I then inked the flowers and leaves with Raspberry Ripple, Pink Pirouette, and Brown and wiped the embossed part off to make the white clean and crisp. I used a ball stylus and mat to dimensionalize my flowers and leaves. I punched out the scallop and circle for my sentiment, added a few pearls and my card came together quite nicely.. I hope you enjoy what I have created here today... Please let me know what you think. Happy Stamping!!!

Rich Roses

I made this card for the Forth of July and this is the first I have had to post deets. So sorry for the delay... I made my card shape using Spellbinders label die... I thought it would be harder than it really was.. This was a sketch challenge so the circles were also cute using spellbinders circle dies. The very vanilla circle was run through the cuttlebug before adhering to the background circle. I cute a rectangle from the DSP paper and then cut the sides using the same label die as my card. The rest of the card went together very quickly... I stamped my main image using ranger distress black soot and colored with stamping write markers... I added some bling, a couple glittered prima flowers and I threaded pink twill through white lace both from RRR (Really Reasonable Ribbon.) I apologize for the photo it looks as though my card is smaller on the bottom but in reality it is the same size all the way down... Thank you so much for stopping by. I would love to hear your comments... Happy Stamping!!!
