How cool is this tote!!! (Did you catch the play on words?) The Insulated Grocery Tote is perfect for those items that need to stay cool without having to carry around a cooler with you...and it's so much prettier too!

Reanna Lily Designs has a great tutorial that uses an auto shade as the insulator...now that's really a smart idea!!! For the instructions and wonderful pictures, click on the photo above. This easy tutorial will work up so fast that you'll want to make a few of them and with everyone going green, your friends are going to want a few too :-)

Needles-n-Pins Stitcheries: 4th of July Mug Rug Tutorial Video

Hellooooooooo.....I am finally back "online". Been gone for a couple of months moving to our new home. Whew.....what a job. The builder was 5 weeks over schedule and then it took 10 days to get my satellite internet back so I was "disconnected" for two months!! Terrible not to have your computer for that long. Thank goodness for my smartphone! :)

So hope everyone is having a good summer so far. It is pretty dry where we live. Need rain bad! Fourth of July is right around the corner, but I think you still have time to make this cute mug rug from Missouri Star Company. Looks pretty simple. :)

There still are a couple of weeks before Easter so you still have time to make this cute little egg shaped mug rug from Sew today Clean tomorrow. Very easy and quick so you can use that Easter fabric stash to make several of them. :)

Needles-n-Pins Stitcheries: Flower Placemats

If it is time to start sprucing up your home for spring where you are at I think flower placemats would help with that. There are so many beautiful fabrics out there with pretty spring flowers on the print that you have so many choices to pick from for your placemats. I found this video to show how you can make some reversible placemats for your table. I make LOTS of placemats throughout the year for all occasions and this tutorial seems to be very easy to do. So why not give it a shot and make some really pretty spring flower placemats for your table. :)

Needles-n-Pin Stitcheries: Time For Tulips

I think for most of us Spring is right around the corner and there may be some of you that are already getting a touch of spring with the crocuses and tulips sticking their heads out. Tulips are always a sure sign that Spring is on it's way.

So, I thought today with tulips in mind maybe we could make some fabric tulips. I found this easy tutorial from Clare's Craftroom for making fabric tulips. Looks very simple and you could make lots and lots of them and display them in a nice vase. I think maybe I could even make these. LOL! :)

Needles-n-Pins Stitcheries: Hearts For Valentine's Sewing Projects

Ok.....I guess we can be done with snowmen now and move onto Valentine's Day. I must say I do like all the pinks and reds that you see at Valentine's Day. Makes you get anxious about spring coming. Now....for all the sewer's out there why not make a table runner or placemats for your Valentine's Day decorating. I found this video from my favorite quilting video lady at Missouri Star Quilt Company. Yep....Jenny! In this video she shows you how to make hearts from charm packs that you can use for all your Valentine's Day projects. :)

Enjoy!

Needles-n-Pins Stitcheries: School Pencil Bags

I am still thinking about kids going back to school this week. :)  I am sure all of  you with school age kids have been busy getting their school supplies and fighting the people and checkout lanes of the big box stores. That is always sooooooooooo stressful. Why not take a little stress off and make something for your kids school supplies. Since it has been awhile I am not up to par with what kids have on their school supply list, but if pencil bags are still there here is a great tutorial on how to make one. I saw this tutorial from Thermoweb.com that Amy Warner wrote for their blog on making a pencil bag with photo transfer sheets. So if your kiddo needs a new pencil bag why not try this one.

One of my granddaughters started school yesterday and the other one's start in a few weeks. My oh my where did the summer go! :(

If your daughter or granddaughter needs a new bag for school why not make her one like this one from Calli at Make It Do. I think this over the shoulder bag is so cute and you could come up with all kinds of designs for a bag like this one. Why not give it a try. :)
