Needles-n-Pins Stitcheries: Hearts For Valentine's Sewing Projects

Ok.....I guess we can be done with snowmen now and move onto Valentine's Day. I must say I do like all the pinks and reds that you see at Valentine's Day. Makes you get anxious about spring coming. Now....for all the sewer's out there why not make a table runner or placemats for your Valentine's Day decorating. I found this video from my favorite quilting video lady at Missouri Star Quilt Company. Yep....Jenny! In this video she shows you how to make hearts from charm packs that you can use for all your Valentine's Day projects. :)

Enjoy!

Needles-n-Pins Stitcheries: Polymer Clay Pumpkin Tutorial

The pumpkin is a staple of Fall and Halloween. Now, I do not do ceramics or sculpturing of any kind, but I thought some of you out there may do it or dabble in it so I thought I would find a video tutorial to show us how to make cute little polymer clay pumpkins. I found this tutorial fromSugarCharmShop. I have a friend that does lots of Christmas ornaments with little animals and they are so cute so now I know how she does it. Have fun!

Happy creating!

Anyway.....I watch a lot of Fons and Porter videos and have taken several of their classes. I found this video and thought I would share it with you. So if you like to make log cabin blocks this is a great video! :)

Watermelon "Steak" Salad

With the heat of the summer season, I don't like to eat heavy protein meals all the time. Nor do I like to stand over a hot stove or grill. For a cool and refreshing salad this weekend, try Southern Living's Watermelon "Steak" Salad. The sweet and salty combo sounds perfect for a light lunch or dinner. Click on the photo above for the recipe. You can view the video below as well.

Needles-n-Pins Stitcheries: Making Valentine Cards

Valentine's Day is just around the corner so we need to get busy making on those Valentine's hearts. If you want to use up some of that stash of fabric you have here is a video from Missouri Quilt Company showing ways to use those scraps to make Valentine's,  that are cute and easy. This is a project you can have the kids help with too. :)

This looks pretty easy! Wish I would have seen this when my kids were at home. :)  Hope you have fun making these.

Happy creating!

Needles-n-Pins Stitcheries: Preserving Fall Leaves Video

Well fall is definitely upon us up here in the north country and I am thinking a lot of you are starting to get some leaf color also. I know that certain parts of the country have gorgeous colors of leaves in the fall and I wish I had those up here. We do get a lot of pretty ground color, but the leaves are mostly yellow and gold.

Now...for those of you that have all those pretty leaves and would like to learn how to preserve them for fall decorating I found this video from Frank Knowles to show you. I am a visual person so I always like videos to show me how to do things.

Maybe I could use this technique on some of the ground leaves we have. I think it would work with the crimson fireweed we have. Hope this video helps you with your leaf preserving. :)

Happy crafting!

Colleen :)
