OPI - Today I accomplished Zero - Swatches and Review

Hello dear readers!

Today, I dedicate a post to show you swatches of  Today I Accomplished Zero by OPI,

This nail polish is is part of the Coca Cola Collection, and this specific color represents Coca Cola Zero.
I've been drooling over this one since I saw the press release pictures and the moment I saw it in store, I grabbed it and then to the counter. I remember looking at the other colors from the collection and explaining my boyfriend what each color represented...I just get excited when there's a color or collection that I like so much.

As you can see, it is a black base, with pink glitter.
It totally represents Coca Cola and the effervescence of the drink.
Formula-wise it was a bit sheer because it is a jelly base, but 2 generous coats were enough for opacity.

I love glitter nail polishes but they are such a pain to remove... It is nice having sparkly nails, but then comes the dreaded moment of removal...sigh :/

Do you like/own this nail polish?
Which one is your favorite from this collection?

Milani - Red Sparkle - One Coat Glitter

Hello dear readers!

Today I want to show you some swatches Red Sparkle by Milani.

For those of you who have not tried Milani's one coat glitter line of nail polishes, just as the name says, it is made with fine glitter and dense enough to over with one coat.

Application wise, this nail polish can become bit goopy in consistency a few minutes after using it, but this can be fixed with few drops of nail polish thinner.
Also, I needed 2 coats because there were a few bald spots since this nail polish has no pigment whatsoever, only glitter. This glitter is top coat thirsty, so I recommend applying 2 layers of top coat for smoothness and shine.
If you like the new trend of textured nail polishes, I think this polish could give the same finish if you let it dry without topcoat ;)

Extra pic :)

What do you think of this nail polish? Have you tried any from the one coat glitter line?

Forever 21 Nail Polish Mini Haul + swatches

I want to show you some nail polishes that I bought from Forever 21 online store.

I've noticed that this store is selling very cool glitter nail polishes recently and couldn't resist to buy these beauties:

(All pictures can be enlarged)
Names from left to right: Crystal Pink, Tinsel Town, Crystal Confetti, Confetti Crush and Pink Speckled

Crystal Pink: pink shredded glitter
Tinsel Town: multicolor bar glitter
Crystal Confetti: Chunky multicolor hexagonal glitter
Confetti Crush: Multicolor shredded glitter
Pink Speckled: Flakies and small glitter in fuchsia jelly base (some say is a dupe to OPI - Lily I Love You)

Swatches from left to right:
Crystal Confetti, Confetti Crush, Crystal Pink, Tinsel Town and Pink Speckled

I love the variety of glitters that F21 has released. I can see myself frankening with some of these. The price for these nail polishes is only $2.80 + tax, very affordable considering that I've seen very similar glitter polishes for triple the price.
What I don't like is that the names of the polishes are only in the online store, not in the bottles. For example, the multicolor glitters are called "Crystal/Multi" in the bottle label. Please stick nice names on the nail polish bottles, F21.

Do you like chunky glitter nail polishes?

Color Club - Untamed Luxury

Hello Dear Readers!

Today I want to show you swatches from another nail polish I bought in a blog sale, Untamed Luxury by Color Club.

Anastacia from My MakeUp Mania, asked me for a swatch of this nail polish. I thought it would take longer to fulfill this request, but this time. I decided to wear a nail polish color that I never worn before. Yes, it is the first time for me to wear a teal, blue-green color.

Pictures can be enlarged

This nail polish was a little bit thick and this made it difficult to apply. As you can see, it dries matte with a gritty, sand paper texture...

but topcoat did the magic and gave it shine and took out the grittiness.

A close up picture.

I will do some nail art on top of this nail color ;)

Pastel Jelly Glitter Franken

Hello dear readers!

Today I want to show you a franken I made a couple of days ago. This franken is a type of sheer color with multi glitter, I called it pastel jelly because it is not very opaque, so that the glitter can be visible. As was cleaning an empty bottle of black Kleancolor nail polish, it occurred to me that I should make a franken from scratch.

I used a bunch of glitters that were sitting in a dark corner of my nail polish drawer and mixed them together.

Here you can see my special blend of glitters...

I mixed the glitters with clear nail polish plus a few drops of white and pink cream nail polish until I reach the desired opacity.

I painted three coats of my pastel jelly & glitter franken.

An extra pic...

I love how this nail polish looks. It reminds me of strawberry glaze with candy sprinkles.
This picture can be found here

I hope you liked this franken because I do :)

Have you tried to mix this type of franken?

Wait! If you like, you can still enter my giveaway it ends in 8 days, February 17th ;)

Super Nail Polish Haul

Hi! Today I will post about the nail polish haul that I got yesterday at the flea market. I called it a super nail polish haul because it is the first time I bought this many nail polishes at once. Since I got them at a very good price, I don't feel bad about it :)

The nail polish brands I bought from were Kleancolor, Nabi and Prestige...

First, take a look at this picture (from my crappy cellphone camera) I took of one of the stands I bought some nail polish from. Ever since I started my nail polish addiction, I love going to flea markets in search of pretty and affordable nail polish. Every time I find stands like these, I look like a child in a candy store ; ) So many colors and glitters...

I got 12 crackle nail polishes from Nabi, these are just some of the colors, they carry 40+ colors of crackle. I must say I'm impressed by the range of colors and the quality of these crackles. I try will to post swatches later. (Names from left to right: Sky blue, sand, new lilac, pastel blue, angel lavender, rose, mocha, white, black, yellow, silver, bright purple)

I also bought a bunch of Kleancolor glitter nail polishes. (Names from left to right: Gold caviar, go bunny!, black out, starry night, grand finale, firework)

More glitter kleancolors... (Names from left to right: Red hot, golden nirvana, green with envy, starry blue, chunky copper, tiara gold)

I finally found Chunky holo black from kleancolor. Why so many bottles? Well, because I will include these as prizes for my upcoming giveaway! My camera did not do justice to chunky holo -_-' I assure you these look gorgeous in person ;)

Last but not least, some cream polishes from Prestige and Kleancolor. This are very opaque and some of these can double as stamping nail polishes.
(Names from left to right: 8, 12, mauve, bumble bee, neon white, black)

I hope you enjoyed this post!

My First Franken - picture heavy ; )

Hello dear readers!
It is been a couple of weeks since the last time I posted. I was busy with school (final exams, assignments...). Now I'm officially on vacation  since last Friday. I haven't done anything on my nails because I don't feel like it... I've been feeling a bit down since I finish my semester. It is weird, when I'm in school, I want to take some time off and now that I'm on vacation, I miss school : (  I guess I've been studying nonstop so much that I got used to it, hahaha

Today, I want to show you my first franken polish, it is not like the Spectraflair top coat that I just added the pigment to clear polish...This time I mixed a bunch of nail polishes and glitters.
More pictures below:

It all started as an accident, I wanted to add some holographic shine to a Japanese nail polish that I never got to use (my mom did ^_^), but I guess the color was too sheer because it turned out grey in color... I thought I had ruined my precious Japanese nail polish, and the only way to fix it was to add some color to it.

*For this franken polish I used some drops of:
Borghese - Clear
China Glaze - Millennium
Kleancolor - Neon Pink
Kleancolor - Pearl Fuchsia
Kleancolor - Metallic Pink
Sally Hansen - Sweetheart
*Then, I added A few tiny scoops of :
Spectraflair --of course ;)
Fantasy Makers glitter - Glitz (silver holographic)
Squared translucent glitter

I mixed and swatched until I was happy with the opacity and color and here is the result:
This is the bottle, isn't it pretty?

Here you can see the color and glitter in more detail:

Here is the nail polish on my nails:

This is the nail polish that I'm currently wearing... since almost 3 weeks! I'm surprised that it has not chipped yet, I love it ;)

What do you think of my first real franken? Your comments are always welcome :)

"Rocker Chick " nail art tutorial

It is been many days since I made a post, so I want to make it up by posting a tutorial for a "Rocker Chick" nail art look.

I made the tutorial using a set of false nails, of course you can get the same look on your natural nails. It is easier for me to take pictures at false nails rather than at my own nails by using my right hand to take pictures of my left hand. Pictures always end up blurry 'cause my hands are kind of shaky hahaha :).

Here is the look:

Now with the tutorial...

Forever 21 Love & Beauty and L.A. Girl Glitter Addict Dupe Chart

On my previous post, I mentioned that I bought a bunch of Love & Beauty Glitter nail polishes from Forever 21. I bought those nail polishes mainly because I wanted to try L.A. Girl Glitter Addict nail polishes. I noticed that those two are exact duplicates of each other, they even have the same bottle design. So, they are practically the same nail polish with different label and names.

Here you can see they are the same, here they look a little bit different because the position of the bottle and the lighting is different.
For those interested that get to read this post, I made a chart with the images and names of both nail polishes in case, let's say that some nail polish from L.A. Girl Glitter Addict is out of stock, then you can get the same one from F21. I don't know if it is that useful or not, but I made it to keep it as a reference.

*Please note that the names from the Forever 21 nail polishes are based on the ones given at the online store,  the nail polishes bottles will have plain names such as blue, gold, etc...
