Wow! Look at the time....

I'll be late for something....oh, yeh.....the Mad Hatter's tea or some silly thing.... but, hey!  what are these?

Just a minute.  Do I like Phlox?..... erm.... yep.  I do.

Uh, oh...she's watching me.

Look cute.  That's it.

Just look cute and she melts.  Only takes pictures ..no throwing things.

Oh, boy, these really are tasty.  Just a few more and then............I'm off!

mmmmmmm.....soooooo good. ..... ....    ........

He's still at it...

.... okay, probably it's me that's still at it.  Playing with my crazy little hairy bunny as Maureen called him...well, he is kind of a crazy little guy... and such fun to play with.  It'll be a week or so before I tire of taking his picture. Then, I guess I should put him away somewhere safe... "Bearister" Bookcase? ...

He decided to ditch his little faux chocolate egg in favour of double chocolate espresso biscotti dipped in more chocolate.....

He was seriously thinking about seconds.... but, then... decided one was plenty....and after all, he didn't want to compromise his slim, young dude waistline...trust me...that is all hair!  he is really slim....

I want to share the recipe for the biscotti.. really I do, but it needs some more testing.  It came from a food blogger who got it from another blog...but, I think something was lost in conversion or in translation somewhere along the line.  It was the softest biscotti dough I've ever worked with .. something not quite right.  Had to tweak things to get it to hold its shape in baking ..etc..etc... so... don't want anybody to try it before I get it working properly.   It won't elude me for too long... and you'll definitely want to try this one....it's yummy even if it isn't quite perfected yet.....

photo a week....

I knew I wouldn't be busy posting much on Sunday.... mostly, I just don't get around to it.  So... seeing as it is my month to choose themes this time around...I picked "Something Easter-y" for today instead of yesterday...and besides..on my calendar..it does say Easter Monday ... cheeky I know, but there you have it. Looking out for number one.

The Easter Bunny did not come to my house...and thank goodness because usually she leaves me baby bunnies in the backyard to look after instead of tasty eggs.... I bought my own small bit of dark chocolate last week along with my pretty flowers...

And, for photo purposes...I have my standby basket of lovely real looking faux chocolates... Eddy is still holding his favourite.

... and refusing to share......

Although, when he decided to hop up into the tulips...I think the other guys hid his prize egg....

He was outta there like a shot...found it ...and brought a flower along so he didn't have to leave the egg again just to sniff a flower.....

Mostly it was a great day with pinks and whites and pretty eggs....

Photo a week....

Psssst...    It's us bears.

It's well past Monday already and Ms BVee is busy baking bread and doing tax stuff and running around like a chicken with her head off.   We decided to help with the theme for the week;  My Favourite Colour. We know what colours she likes... and it is never just one ..although, this is kind of her favourite just now...

See,... pretty greens... like this sofffft mini bear fabric.....

oh.....and......

soft purples too...look ...a bear foot was already cut out of this one..... where's he gone?  .. and... who is supposed to be finding the periwinkle purples?...huh?? who? ... oh, the piece of fabric was too heavy to drag out......sorry........

I know she likes yellow.... like me.. and like this flower.... ... yummy custard yellow.... not mustard-y yellow....

and.... what about pink?...she likes pink... ...

What colour can I show?  What colour?

First....put down that darn egg will ya? .....

How 'bout my feet?  look.... pink ...oh....and we are sitting on pink too.... oooooh...lovely pink....

What part of put it down do you think he doesn't understand guys?  Maybe it's something to do with his stuffing...or maybe bunnies are just like that? ...

Oh, hey.... look, she made hippy bread.  Well, it looks like hippy bread.  Rustic. Sunflower seeds... flax... other healthy stuff... I wonder if there is some hunny to put on it... okay, let's just get back where we belong or we'll be in big trouble tomorrow.... somebody put the camera back in the drawer ....

Why is it??

Well !!  that was annoying.  I saved the post I was working on; went away to put in some laundry ... came back to finish my post and lo and behold...there was just the first sentence!  I guess I didn't wait long enough for blogger to do it's "saving" .... sigh.....  You know how it goes.  Well, maybe you have better memory than I... but, for me, once I've written it out I promptly "give it up".   Like water off a duck.  Gone.

I think I was musing about how our homes have stuff all over them.  Know what I mean?  You do if you craft, are artsy, sew or are a DIY'er... even if you have a "dedicated" room for your fun and games ... "stuff" just seems to follow us wherever we go in a house.   Well, I suppose it doesn't actually follow us... we usually carry it around like pets or something.  Although most of my "Stuff"... does have legs...maybe it could be following me .... now I'll be looking over my shoulder!

See what I mean?  My new little bunny.. a leg and a head under Tina's left arm... while the Original Brocade Bunny hangs out for inspiration.  All of it just hanging out on the dining table... and that is just one corner of the table...so don't be saying how tidy it is.  And.. I'm not showing the coffee table, the kitchen table and counters and the actual dedicated room.  And.. oh, oh .., yes..I did buy some new "Point-2-of-a-metre" pieces of fabric.  The smallest cut we can buy from Fabricland..they probably hate to see me show up. And... more buttons.  One can never have too many buttons can one? As if I need any more goodies.  What I really should do is give most of it away.  I'm never going to use it all in a million years.

Maggi, my only doll and bear making buddy, came over for a play day last week.... we yakked, had nibblies and started a bunny from the old pattern.  I know...I'm so lucky that I actually have one person that can relate to what I like to do..other than Mr. BV of course (...who is really my biggest cheerleader  and who does know quite a lot about all of it).  He has had many a great idea to add to my endeavours.   So many have nobody at all to share their passion with.  How I wish airfare was cheap!  What a blast we could all have traveling to visit and play!  In the long run all the airlines would probably make money because they would be flying with full planes instead of making half empty runs...  maybe we should all write letters to them.

I'm waiting for a photo of Maggi's bunny to put here    { ......  }

....hers is already finished!  And...really cute.

Here is mine....

Still a pile of body parts.  Poor little guy.. or gal. This brocade is beautiful.. but not very colourful with the off white body.  And..it was tricky to sew too... therefore taking waaay too much time on a simple little make.  If I get it finished today...I think I might cut out more body parts ... with more colourful fabric for ears....

Hoppy Easter!!

Bunnies.... from days gone by.... I still have this one. Little Pinky ... my keeper. Normally she lives in the curio with some of the bears, but this is her day. She gets around too let me tell you... she has been everywhere in the last two days..... I began to think she was somehow multiplying all by her onesie....
She wanted to check out the new "etagere" as it is called by the store that carries them... hahaha....oooh, la la... yeh, okay, but it is still just glass and chrome shelving. This is my "easter egg" this year...
It fits perfectly behind the tub in the white, chrome and glass bathroom...the German Spa look....

...here are a few eggs for you. Just realized I have been collecting them........

these two are from St. Petersburg Russia...

this is an interesting one I found on ebay..by a well known artist..but, it has something not quite right with it. I don't know if it is moisture..but, it if is ... it is sealed inside and there is no hope of taking off the base to get it out (although I have not taken it to a professional so I can't say that for sure)...but, I like it anyway...

my Easter bouquet...

feel free to take the carrot my dear...I guess I'll just have to be satisfied with this old chocolate egg....darn it... ...

Rabbits, rabbits, rabbits!!!

First of a new month.... a really important new month too. According to Ye Olde Englishe wives tale, the first words you utter, first thing in the morning on the first day.... should be "rabbits"....for good luck.

There. Done. Now to sit back and wait for it. Hahahahha...yeh...right....as if.....

My personal theory is that you make your own luck. It's kind of like life....if you want the most out of it.. get out there and grab it by the throat. Carpe Diem!!

And, today the day is:...... beautiful, sunny and there is an amazing brilliant blue sky... hmmm... okay, that's kind of lucky for this time of year in Canada.... and, furthermore, the weatherman says it will be the same all week... with a whopper of +9C on Saturday....wow.... sometimes a bit of luck just happens all on its own I guess.

Okay....I'm off to sit in the sunlight streaming through the kitchen window, sip a second coffee and do some stitching on my little Persimmon coloured bear. Later, I think I'll enjoy a browse through my collection of holiday magazines...

I love looking at the pictures; ooohing and aaaahhhing over the decorations and decorating ideas...

drooling over recipes, and, in particular, recipes for gifts.... my fav thing to give is something for, (or from ♥♥), the kitchen. I learned that little heart trick from a new commenter... just hold down the Alt button....and press the number 3 on the number pad.. not on the keyboard. Cute.

and here is a tip from me... save your special magazines in plastic covers so they don't get all ratty. They cost enough so, I like to keep them nice. Easy to save in a large binder...or even just in a perfect stack in a spare drawer or cupboard. I have ... uhm,... lots........ I'm a sucker for a pretty cover.... so some are in an out of the way drawer (but, I know exactly where, so I can refer to them at other times of the year for certain marked recipes) ... ... and there are more in a small tote bin. I keep it near other Christmas-y stuff...like the big box with the tree in it...that way I know exactly where it is.... hey! come to think of it, my cards are right beside that in a smaller tote and I might as well bring that to the light of day as well...it's December and time to get some overseas cards in the mail.... Have a great first day of December everybody!

brocade can be tricky....

....but, with the help of a few people who know a lot about sewing.... I managed to use it for the inner ears and foot pads of my third bunny.

I didn't know about the tissue paper trick yet when I did the ears, and they are easier to do than the little foot pads....... I pinned only in the seam allowance so that even if there were pin pricks that did show... they would not be visible when I turned the ear right side out.

Then I learned about the tissue paper trick. Use tissue paper against the good side when stitching it to the other fabric... this is by hand for me when I am doing foot pads. I just can't seem to do them by machine yet..... then after turning, just tear it away.. et voila! you have a pristine piece of fabric. Worked like a charm. Thanks Richy.....

The brocade pieces survived intact...not a pick mark or hole anywhere..... and I now have a pretty pink bunny.

Happy Easter !!

The polls are now open over at Lisa's blog.... so head over to the Easter Parade when you have some time... check out all the great entries and vote for your favourites. There are plenty of bunnies, (three days worth) ...and so many great ones~! There are chicks, Easter bonnets and even some Irish themes... seeing as Easter was hard on the heels of St. Patrick's day...

I am making a little stuffed chicken for supper.....working on a needle felted dog... and perhaps even sculpting some eyes on a new doll that I began yesterday.... a lovely relaxing day. Of course, in between that I may be called upon to help hold wires, lift some ceiling molding... balance drywall...etc.... not out of the ordinary around here. This is our 20+ year reno project.
