Babies and Chocolate

I received my first real baby stamp set today. I don't have children of my own and never really stamped when my niece was a baby. So I never had a need for a baby set. But last week Gina K Designs came out with the cutest set ever. Melanie design this adorable Wee Tee set for GKD and it is fabulous. It is no secret that I absolutely adore her first two Tee sets. The Wee Tee set is just as fun. I had to have it. There are so many cute little images and words to go with the set. I think my favorite is the word "stinker". I need to use that on something very soon.

I stamped the onesie onto this adorable patterned paper. I decided to stamp baby and stitch it to make it look like an embroidered onesie. I also stitched the outline of the flower on the sleeve. Before I stitched it I reinforced the back with some clear tape. This made it study enough to stitch. I went a little crazy with the buttons. Very fun! LOL! I hope you enjoy it.

And then there is CHOCOLATE. The card base is NEW Pure Luxury Chocolate Kiss 120# card stock. It is amazing. It is darker than chocolate chip and twice as thick. Absolutely love it!

Stamps: Wee Tees, Bold Flowers
Paper: Chocolate Kiss, Kraft, Real Red
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Tea Dyed, Riding Hood Red

Sugar Coated Flowers

Lee posted the Potluck Friday Challenge over at StampTV.com and asked us to glitter up our cards. She is the queen of all things blinged out. So this challenge was not a surprise. Here is my card:

I received my flower punches from Gina K Designs on Thursday and finally had a chance to try them out. I stamped flowers from the Bold Flowers set using various Memento ink colors onto Pure Luxury White card stock. I also stamped the scalloped rectangle background with smaller stamps from the same set. I punched out the flowers using my new punches. Very easy! I found some new embossing folders made by Sizzix. The 2-pack I bought contained the paisley background you see on the card base and there was a flower background that I used to emboss the centers of my flowers. Cool, huh? I sanded the flowers slightly so make the embossing more noticeable. I coated the flowers and scalloped rectangle with glitter using my Essential Glue Pad. I added some eyelets to the center of each. And used some cool ribbon I bought on clearance somewhere (can't remember where I found that). It matches Memento's Bahama Blue quite nicely. I hope you enjoy the card and have a super Saturday.

Ingredients:
Stamps: Bold Flowers {Gina K Designs}
Ink: Bahama Blue, Bamboo Leaves, Tangelo, & Dandelion {Memento}, Essential Glue Pad
Paper: Old Olive {SU}, Pure Luxury White {Gina K Designs}
Accessories: flower punches {Marvy}, small silver eyelets {SU}, large silver eyelet {sewing store}, blue ribbon {unknown}

Tres Chic White Flowers

SmilynStef over at SplitCoastStampers hosts the Inspiration Challenge every Saturday. This week she gave us a link to French Bull, an online store. I chose the Felix Pattern as my inspiration. I don't think I have ever done a black and white card before. I bought some white detail embossing powder yesterday (finally) and used that with this beautiful flower stamp from Great Impressions. I also pulled out an older background stamp from SU that I have not used in a while and I used some new clear buttons. I stamped the center of the flowers onto white circles with black ink and tied them to the back of the clear buttons with black DMC embroidery floss. The card base is the super sturdy Pure Luxury Base Weight card stock from Gina K Designs. I love this card stock for card bases. I hope you are having an amazing weekend. I am off work starting Tuesday, April 7th for my birthday; and I don't return until the 14th. I can't wait for some mental health days (aka stamp till my hands cramp days).

Supplies:
Stamps: Great Impressions - G298, Tres Chic {SU}
Paper: Pure Luxury White, Basic Black
Ink: VersaMark & black
Accessories: white embossing powder, clear buttons, black embroidery floss, gingham ribbon, white organdy ribbon

TripleTheSketch #49 - Love You

I just recently discovered triplethesketch.blogspot.com. This is my first card for the weekly sketch challenge #49. This was a fun sketch. I actually did not end up using the paper or stamped image I started out with. But I am very happy with the results of this card. I pulled out some paper, a few stamp sets and a punch that I have not used in quite a while. I just love this bright paper from K & Company. The collection is called Berry Sweet. I bought it about a year ago and haven't really used it that much, so time to dust it off and start using it again. I haven't used Unfrogettable in ages as well. I think this little frog looks so cute with the fun designs on the Berry Sweet paper. The flower beads were left over from a craft kit my mom bought several years ago. She didn't need them and gave them to me. The colors look great with the Berry Sweet Paper as well.

I was very sick Friday. I had a 100 degree temperature and came home early from work to rest. My dear sweet boyfriend stopped my after work to check in on me. He drove me to the grocery store so I could pick up a few items that I needed. Then he stayed with me to keep me company and was just very sweet. I am glad to say I feel much better today, and I am sure his presence last night helped me get better sooner. So anyway, I made this card for him to tell him how much I love him. He loves all of the cards I make using bright colors. I'm pretty sure he will like this one.

Thanks for stopping by & letting me share my little story. I hope you are having a super weekend!

Supplies
Stamps: Unfrogettable & So Many Sayings {SU}, Bold Flowers {Gina K Designs}
Paper: Riding Hood Red {SU} , Pure Luxury White {Gina K Designs}, Berry Sweet {K & Company}
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Riding Hood Red & Kiwi Kiss {SU}
Accessories: Yellow Hemp, Flower Beads, Coluzzle Circle Templates, Spiral & Word Window Punches {SU}

It's been a while since I have participated in the challenges over at SplitCoastStampers. I decided today to try to do them more regularly. I stopped by the Inspiration Challenge thread hosted by SmilynStef and she gave us a link to Little Daisy Designs. The dresses on this Etsy shop are so adorable. I chose this dress as my inspiration and chose to do an apron dress card. I created the dress template to fit a standard 4.25 x 5.5 card base. I used Copic markers to color the cherries and leaves. I love how the colors remain so vivid when coloring on color card stock.

I hope you have a bright and cheery day.

Stamps: Summer Harvest {Gina K Designs}
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Cool Caribbean, Pure Luxury White
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: silver eyelets, Dots CB embossing folder, pink ribbon, white gel pen, Copic markers (R29 & YG63)

Joanne posted a challenge over at StampTV.com to not use Nestabilities. That challenge is not too hard for me since I only have one set and haven't really used them much yet. I pulled out my colluzzle templates and made the rounded square frame by cutting out a circle and then cutting the rounded square around it. I think this would be a great card for someone praying to God for wisdom about something in their life. I hope you have a super blessed day.

Card Ingredients:
Stamps: The Best Things In Life - Gina K Designs
Paper: Green Stack - DCWV, Pure Luxury - Gina K Designs, Wild Wasabi - Stampin' Up!
Ink: Chocolate Chip - Stampin' Up!, Tea Dye Distress Ink - Ranger
Accessories: white brads, colluzle templates, circle cutter - Fiskars

Never Felt So Soft Card

I picked up some American Crafts stuff at Big Lots on Friday night. One of the cool things I found was containers of felt pieces. I bought a container of Vanilla, White and Chocolate felt pieces in the shapes of rectangle tags, scalloped corners, hearts, and birds. I used one of the vanilla rectangle tags under the sentiment. I cut a scalloped corner piece in half to use as a wing on one of the chocolate birds. I used one of the silhouette flower stamps from Elegant Flowers Gina K Designs. I used Chocolate Chip and Pink Pirouette card stock from Stampin' Up. The vanilla is Pure Luxury Gina K. I used the Threading Water border punch for the bottom piece. I used some Chocolate Taffeta Ribbon also from Stampin' Up! The aged copper brads are from Floral Frenzy Kit Gina K Designs.

Another Digital Layer Card

Gina K Designs had a new release Thursday night. Gina is now offering digital paper in her store. The digital paper I used for this card is from a free set designed by Emily Giovanni. I layered the pieces in photoshop and printed it out onto Gina K Pure Luxury White. I trimmed it to 4 inches and layered it onto Basic Black. I stamped the hippo from Hip Hop Accessories Gina K Designs using Memento Tuxedo Black. I colored her in with a Prismacolor black colored pencil and OMS. I used a pink Copic marker for her toe nails and inner ear. I cut her out and attached her with 3M foam tape to add dimension. I used a white flower from the Floral Frenzy Kit Gina K Designs. I stamped the leaves on some green Basic Grey paper with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored the inner part of the leaf with a Prismacolor marker {limepeel}. I stamped the word friend from Tee Talk Gina K Designs using pink chalk ink. Then I added a few rhinestone for bling.

Can you believe this card only has 3 layers if you include the little hippo? I like using the digital papers this way because it saves and I don't have to trim them all and worry about getting them straight.
I made this card for March Release Challenge #3 over in the Gina K Design member forum at Splicoast.

Classic Pink & Gray

I made this card for both the Weekend Sketch Challenge # 71 hosted by Sharon Harnist and for the Color Challenge over at StampTV.com. The color challenge posted by Theresa was to use pink with a neutral color. I always seem to pair pink with chocolate, so I decided to use a different neutral color. I chose Basic Gray and Going Gray. The PP is from the Floral Frenzy Digital Paper Kit Gina K Designs. I used Copic Markers for the coffee cup: E00 - Skin White, E57 - Light Walnut, & R11 - Pale Cherry Pink. The coffee mug stamp is from my cuppa' joe Gina K Designs and the sentiment is from Autumn Leaves Gina K Designs.

Good Things From God

I was viewing this blog post on Jessica Knutsen's blog yesterday and loved the white flowers on Pacific Point. I really like Pacific Point but can't seem to use it very often. So I decided to case the card on her blog and this is what I came up with.

I used the stamps from Floral Frenzy Gina K Designs . I stamped the small and large lilly outline stamps in White Versafine ink onto the Pacific Point card stock. I also used the new set that I won from one of the challenges on StampTV.com; The Best Things In Life Gina K Designs. I love this set. I stamped a small lilly onto Pure Luxury White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored it in using Copic Y38 Honey & Copic YR16 Apricot. I added a little white organdy ribbon to two of the corners and mounted on a white base made from Pure Luxury 120 lb. weight White card stock.

Sweet Cupcake Birthday Goodness

I never know what to get for my sister as a gift for any holiday. Our family has a Walmart versus Target rivalry. I love Target and I can't stand going to Walmart. The rest of my family love Walmart and thinks that Target is too expensive. I needed to get some sort of gift card for her birthday and thought it would nice of me (quite sacrificial actually) to get the gift card from Walmart. My boyfriend also loves Walmart so I took him along for moral support when I bought the gift card. He actually contributed to the amount on the too. Now what I thought was really cool is the Rub and Sniff cards they have. I was an 80's child who loved to collect scratch and sniff stickers, so this intrigued me. LOL! So you rub the gift card and it really does smell like cupcake goodness. Wow! So this is the card that I had to get. I decided to make a cupcake card/gift card holder to go with it.

I'll start with the inside of the card since the card is made for the gift card. I used my clear set called Birthday Cupcake Inkadinkadoo. All of the Patterned Paper is from Basic Grey Cupcake 6 x6 paper pad. I used Stampin' Up Riding Hood Red for the card base and mattes.

I stamped a small cupcake. I colored the icing with Copic E57 Light Walnut, it is a nice chocolate color. I colored the cherry with Copic R29 Lipstick Red. I added Stickles to the icing and paper pieced the liner. I popped the message panel up using 3M foam tape. I made sure I left just enough room for the gift card to slide underneath. The foam tape holds the gift card in place. I created a little circle tag and adhered that to the end of the card with the same 3M foam tape. This makes it easier to pull the card out. I stamped the little cookies and For You sentiment using stamps from Have a Cookie Gina K Designs.

For the front of the card; I colored the cake of the cupcake with Copic E57 Light Walnut, again such a nice chocolate color. I colored the icing with Copic E53 Raw Silk. I added red Dew Drops to the icing and then coated the icing with Stickles. I paper pieced the cupcake liner and used the same paper for the circle behind the button. Happy Birthday Sentiment is from Owl Always Love You Gina K Designs.

So here is my yummy cupcake card for my sister's birthday. Oh and shhh, don't tell anyone I told you but she is now the big 3-0. LOL! She is younger than me, but it is a milestone.

He is my Sovereign LORD

The second attribute of God is the word Sovereign. You can read about the challenge here. I chose two different passages from the Bible for my page. I think my favorite is from Psalm 68:20. I find great comfort in that passage.

It took me forever to come up with this layout. I knew I wanted to use this tree stamp from Hero Arts because of the verse I chose from Isaiah. It is such a large image and I am making a 6 x 6 book. So this is what I finally came up with. I colored the tree with my new Copics that arrived today. The PP is from Basic Grey Urban Prairie. I added the dew drops under the tree. Kind of like apples on the ground. That's about it. The page is actually a simple one after getting the layout correct. I hope you find comfort and joy in reading the verses on this page.

And know that Jesus Saves!!!

Crocheted Flowers and Digital Paper

I was reading a thread over at SplitCoastStampers the other week about women who were trying to make their own flowers like the crocheted flowers in the new Stampin' Up catalog. I was intrigued. I cannot crochet to save my life, but my mom can. :o) So the light bulb was illuminated. I printed some of the directions shared and bought some yarn and crochet thread. I took everything to my mom and she made me some gorgeous flowers. I finally had a chance to use one of them. Here is a card using a double layer pink flower. I added a 1/2" white circle with a chocolate brown brad and a little pink rhinestone in the middle. Oh, and that gorgeous PP is from a new digital paper pack from Gina K Designs. She just opened a new site called StampTV.com and she will be releasing kits throughout the year. This digital paper pack is a part of her first kit Floral Frenzy. I of course ordered mine right away. I can't wait to get it. She is offering this paper pack and one other for free. So head on over to her blog to get yours and while you are there you better order your kit.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. I hope you have at least one person you can share Valentine's Day with. My best friend who is a guy is coming over to celebrate with me. I'm making dinner and yummy brownies for dessert. Then we'll watch a movie and who knows what else. I can't wait. I need to finish his card today. But I thought I would post a card for everyone out there that may stumble across this post.

I used an old retired set from Stampin' Up called From the Heart. It was one of the first sets I ever bought from SU. I colored the girl and kitty with Copics and Prismacolor Markers. The DP is from Target's Dollar Spot. I added some pink Stickles to the hearts in her dress and the big heart in her hands. I added some cute little puffy hearts to the circle sentiment and the kitty's collar. The metal flower from SU fit perfectly inside the circle sentiment. I draped ribbon across two of the corners and added a few brands to finish it off.

Have a fantastic day and remember on this day of Love that Jesus loves you unconditionally.

Grungy Grey & Gray

I haven't used Basic Gray from Stampin' Up in a very long time. I bought some new Basic Grey paper pads a few weeks ago and found that the Ambrosia is a great match with Basic Gray. Gina K's design team members have a lot of great challenges over at SplitCoastStampers. Joanne challenged us to 'Get Messy' and use crumpled, torn, or anything messy on our cards. Here is my card for the challenge:

I cut blocks from a sheet of Ambrosia DP, sprayed them with water and crumpled them up. Then I un-crumple them and used the heat gun to dry them. I also sanded all of the designer paper and grunged it up with ink from my Basic Gray pad. The t-shirt is stamped with Little Tees. I added a few rhinestones to the Tee as well as the bottom right of the card. For the scalloped border I used the Fiskars Threading Water border punch. I also added some 'messed up' designer paper to the inside.

I made my second card for Jessica's Release Challenge. She gave us a sketch to work with. I used the same Ambrosia paper and Basic Gray card stock. I also added some Tangerine Tango to this card. That cute little orange heart is a pillow sticker from K&Company, Smitten line. I pulled out my jumbo SU eyelets to add to the bottom border. I also added some designer paper and Dew Drops to the inside of the card.

I hope you are inspired to stamp today.

Glory In His Holy Name

Patter is hosting a wonderful challenge this year called His Holy Name. The first word is Holy. I found several verses that spoke to me. But I chose 1 Chronicles 16:10 I rejoice knowing I can seek Him at any time.

Card Details:
I bought some Basic Grey 6x6 pads from Gina K Designs. I knew I would want to use some for this challenge. I love this sheet with the grid and beautiful flowers and butterflies. I usually have a hard time using this type of DP on a card because the design is part of the whole sheet (not easy to cut it up and use it). So using it for a 6 x 6 layout is perfect. I cut out part of the butterfly wing on the bottom right to tuck my printed verse under. I thought the butterfly from Reason to Smile goes well with the DP. I hope you enjoy it.

"my cuppa' joe" is Cool Beans!

I walked up the steps to my apartment and what to my wondering eyes do I see, a cute little box filled with Gina K Designs stamps. I was giddy with excitement. Like a 6 year old girl on Christmas morning. I grabbed the box and hurried into my apartment. I put my bags down and ran to my stamp room. I tore open the box and salivated over the cool new stamps. I mounted the "my cuppa' joe" first and then I mounted "Have a Cookie". I could wait no longer. I made a card using my cuppa' joe. I just love the sentiments in this set. The Cool Beans sentiment has got to be one of my favorites. Here is my card:

I used Chocolate Chip, Kraft, Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirouette, and Baja Breeze CS. I used Memento Rich Cocoa to stamp the images and SU Close To Cocoa ink for the sponging. There are little blue rhinestonse on the blue and green mugs. And I used up a scrap of green ric rac on the one corner. It matches Wild Wasabi perfectly.

God of Love

I was going through my stash and found some fun stuff I received as a gift a while ago from my niece. She bought me a pack of packaging tags and some silver metal "Love" embelishments. I forgot I had them. So I challenged myself to use them. After browsing the Dirty Gallery this morning, I was totally inspired and this is what I made:

I really like the Wild Saffron DP from K & Company. It is absolutely gorgeous. I covered the tag with a piece from that collection. I used Close to Cocoa & River Rock with the paper and it matches nicely. That pretty pearl brad is also from K & Company. I picked up a pack of them at Ollie's Bargain Outlet last weekend. I paid $1.29. Wow, very cheap. I added some ribbon, linen thread and primas. I used the Fiskars Threading Water Border Punch. The stamped sentiment is from God's Blessings (Stampin' Up!).

I also embellished the inside. I have noticed some stampers finish the insides and I really like the look. So now I am doing that as well.

Smilin' Hoodie Challenge

Gina K Designs released lots of fabulous new sets last night. She threw a big party and her DT members hosted some challenges. Melanie challenged us to make a card using at least 3 different Gina K Designs stamp sets. She used 5 in her sample, so I decided to do the same. Actually I used 6 if you include the retired SU set, Great Shapes to make the large polka dotted backround.

I used the following GKD sets: Little Tees, Just So Sporty, Autumn Leaves, Whimiscal Autumn, Hip Hop Accessories.

I also added a special touch to the inside of the card.

I think I will give this card to my best friend. He can always make me laugh and he loves bright colors.

There are 2 more challenges posted in Gina K Designs Forum on SCS that are calling my name.
