Repurposed Napkin Holder

Over at StampTV.com Karen's latest Anything But a Card challenge is earth friendly. She challenged us to re-purpose a napkin holder.  I didn't have one already, so I stopped by the Dollar Store on Sunday after church to pick one up. Then I proceeded to make it over with some cool new paper I found. It is from Cosmo Cricket's The Boyfriend collection.  I love the hanging clothing and the Game Over with the old school Atari joystick.  I used images from the Tech Talk stamp set by Gina K Designs. Being a techno geek, I love that set. :o)  I think I'll take this to work to hold some items on my desk; like my notepad and such.

Stamps: Tech Talk
Paper: Pure Luxury Green Apple (laptop and wrap for napkin holder sides), Sweet Corn (envelope) and Ivory (computer screen) AND Cosmo Cricket The Boyfriend
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa

Coffee, Tech and a Notebook

I've had composition books sitting on a shelve for at least a year waiting to be altered.  I was inspired by Gina's latest video over at StampTV.comhttp://stamptv.ning.com/.  She showed how easy it is to alter these cheap notebooks and make a fun personal notebook for whatever you need to write down. I covered mine with Fresh Asparagus card stock from Gina K Designs Pure Luxury line. I love, love this color.  I also used images from my two favorite stamp sets, Tech Talk and My Cuppa' Joe.  I love my coffee and my tech.  Usually together. LOL!

So here is the final result.  You can click the image for a closer view.  Go check out the video over at StampTV.  She has at least one new video showing a stamping technique or project every Wednesday.

Stamps: Tech Talk & My Cuppa' Joe
Paper: Fresh Asparagus, Basic Grey Offbeat, & Recollections Friends Forever
Ink: Colorbox Dark Brown Chalk
Other: copper nail heads, spiral clips, green ribbon, buttons and linen thread

Warm Coffee and Good Friends

Jennie has an awesome sketch featured this week over at StampTV.com.  It is a great sketch to help you use those small images you may have.  I always struggle to use them.  So here was my opportunity and I love how this turned out.

The stamps are from Gina K Designs.  The mugs are from Tech Talk and the sentiment is from My Cuppa' Joe.  The pattern paper is from the Basic Grey 6x6 pad, Lemonade.  The card stock is Green Apple and Kraft from Gina's Pure Luxury line.  I love her heavy base weight card stock.  It's incredibly Luxurious.  The green vine ribbon has been in my stash for months and I finally used it on a project.  I also broke out some older Prima flowers.  I have a jar of those for years and I like how they look with this vine ribbon.  I added some texture with cuttlebug embossing folders.

The weekend is almost here and I love Saturdays so I can sleep in.  I hope you have a great weekend planned.  I look forward to getting in some stamp time.

TTYS Over Coffee

I always have good intentions to do the challenges over at StampTV.com and never have the time. I finally made the time and the first challenge I completed was the sketch challenge from last Thursday. It was a fun sketch to use.  I used the Tech Talk stamp set with some Pure Luxury Kraft card stock and some Basic Grey DP.  I added some sponging for character and some little adhesive back nail heads.

I hope you all have a safe new year's eve. We are supposed to have a wintry mix here. I plan to stay home.  Probably do some stamping. :o)

Tech Talk Blog Hop

I have to say that this is my favorite set out of the whole release.  I am a total geek and I work in IT at a Credit Union, so this set is perfect for me. Melanie is my hero for designing this set. :o)

I made two projects for the Tech Talk blog hop. This first project is for the girls.  I had to have Carolyn's template after seeing the samples during the release party.  I made a cute little "leather" purse with Pure Luxury Tan Leather card stock.  I printed the template in two sizes.  I made the purse in the larger size and then used the smaller template to make a little pocket for the front.  I sewed the edges to make it look more real.  I stamped several smaller images from the Tech Talk set all over the purse.  I made a little sewn tag for the front of the purse with two of the phrases from the set.

My second project is a card that could be given to a boy or girl in your life.  I loved all the scenes that everyone created and decided to make one of my own.  I made a little window frame and used some DP from my Basic Grey Mellow stack.  I stamped the little doe from Life is Good on the DP to make it look like a doe in the forest.  The little clock on the wall is the face of one of the clocks from Nina's set, Special Fathers.

Below is a picture of the inside of the card.

Tech Tee Talk

I hope you all were able to join us at the Release Party.  It was a hoppin' good time.  Here is one of the cards I shared last night.  I had to make a card combining the NEW Gina K set, Tech Talk with Little Tees.  Both sets are illustrated by Melanie Muechinger.

The mug and sentiment are from the new set Tech Talk.  The T-Shirt is from Little Tees.  Melanie's sets are so much fun.  Gina has so many fabulous illustrators.  I just adore all of her stamps.  I also used pattern paper from DCWV and the base is Pure Luxury Soft Sand.

I will be back this weekend with some more samples to show you.  And Saturday (if the weather holds up), I will be getting a new island for my stamp room.  I've been wanting a higher desk to stamp at. And I found a super bargain at IKEA on Black Friday.  My mom bought it for me for Christmas and my boyfriend is going to put it together for me.  Isn't he sweet?

Gina K Designs Preview - Tech Talk

Well, now, we all know how totally awesome Gina and her stamp tv crew is, right?  Well they must have some kind of super powers.  Seriously!!!  I was so super psyched to be included along with all of the super talent on StampTV.  But when I saw the set assigned to me... well...  I squealed.  Seriously. :o)  That brings me to the super powers part.  So Melanie, must have been thinking of me when she designed the set that was assigned to me.  Yep, she was. ;o) And when it came time to decide which stamp to assign to me, it's like they knew.  I work in IT and I am a total geek.  And I love it.  So when I saw this set, I went crazy.  OMG!!!

So I decided to make the cutest laptop ever for my first card.  Decked out in pink, of course. :o)  Here is a close up of the cutest laptop ever.  And wouldn't we all want to receive this message on our cute little laptop?  Yes, we would!

I stamped the laptop image onto 120 lb. Pure Luxury White card stock.  I cut out the screen area.  I colored the whole piece pink with a Copic marker.  Then I stamped the bottom portion of the laptop on some Basic Grey pattern paper from the Lemonade collection.  I stamped "((((HUGS))))"  with white chalk ink on Black Onyx Pure Luxury card stock.  I also stamped the little pointer arrow with chalk ink.  I colored the mouse/touchpad with a black Sakura Glaze Pen (it looks really cool in real life).  Here is the full card with more paper from the Basic Grey Lemonade pad and other images from the set.

This laptop was made for me because it has a mouse for a right-handed person.  But the really cool thing is that Melanie (genius that she is) created a mouse for the left-handed person as well.  Isn't she super smart?  Yes, she is!  The card base is my new favorite green, Pure Luxury Fresh Asparagus.

So are you ready for more inspiration?  Don't forget to join us at the December Release Party in the Gina K Designs Member Forum over at SplitCoastStampers.  The party is from 7 - 10 pm CST.  That's 8 - 11 pm EST (in Pennsylvania, where I live).  Here is a link to the Member Forum.  You can also check out StampTV.com or Gina's blog for more details.  I know that members from the design team post helpful hints as the party approaches.
