Joyeux Noel

joyeuxnoel Good morning friends!! Today I am trying something new…I am blogging from Windows Live Writer.  After Tuesday night’s fight with Blogger, I asked my Diva buddy, Mercy, what she does.  I knew she wrote her blog somewhere else but posts with Blogger.  So this is my first try!!  Cross your fingers :)  I am using this week’s sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You.  I thought of my new Heirloom Ornament dies and some fabulous OA paper from last year (but new to me this summer! lol).  I made the border using the PTI Victorian border die…after die cutting the paper, I used the actual die cut by placing it in between the cut scalloped edges…does that make sense?  Red, pink and cream kept popping up in my head as did the sweet little jingle bells :)  I hope all my American friends had a great Thanksgiving…the weather here is warming up and it’s the weekend already!! Have a fabulous Friday :)

Bold Happy Birthday

Good morning sweet blog buddies and new visitors :)  I know what you may be thinking...what?  No autumn or Christmas card?  Believe me, no one is more surprised than me.  But sometimes things pop in my head right away when I see a sketch (and sometimes I draw a blank! lol) and I have to go for it.  I love the simple sketch this week over at 2 Sketches 4 You.  So many possibilities.  I had aqua and pink on the brain and then added a bit of yellow because of the patterned paper.  I tried to add some bling, but once again, it just didn't work with the buttons :)  I also couldn't find a matching paper for this October Afternoon dp so I put the ribbon over the place that should've had a sliver of cardstock.  Anyone find a good match to this blue?  LOL  The closest for me was PTI's ocean tides, but it still was a bit off.  The aquamist at the bottom isn't too bad, but I wanted a darker blue.  Anyways, I'm starting to ramble so I'll end it here :)  We have the day off here tomorrow (Remembrance Day) so I'll be writing only a few reports as I like to enjoy my day off without working.  I also plan to organize my PTI dies like Dawn did here.  Have a wonderful Wednesday and thanks for spending a few minutes of your day with me :)

Every Leaf is a Flower

Good morning!!! I am back from a great weekend full of family, good food and stamping :)  I got a lot done in the studio this weekend AND played around with my Stampin' Up Digital Studio enough to make a new blog banner and sidebar titles :)  I've even added some pages along the top...check out the Wild Card Colour Challenges...all the challenges are up with samples :)  Today's lovely card makes me smile :)  It's for the 2 Sketches 4 You sketch this week.  I've been playing with my new PTI leaf and autumn sets AND the leaf dies.  Oh, I love them!!  I cut the felt out with 2 of the dies and stamped the veins on top!!  EEK!! I need more felt colours!!  I experimented with 2 types of stitching (my poor sewing machine must think I'm psycho!!LOL).  Now, you may be thinking, hmmm....circle panel and she didn't go for a button tree...well, I almost did!! I had the tree stamp out and was lining it up on the panel when I changed my mind for the felt leaves.  Can you blame me?  Have a lovely day and I would love to hear any feedback about the new blog look :D  Hugs and smiles to you :)

What You Have in Your Heart

Happy Thursday morning!!!  Well, last night was an early bedtime for me...lol....the first FULL day with my new sweet class PLUS hours of planning and prep afterwards, made this little cardmaker pooped!!  I am so glad I had these cards made a few days ago...and I'm even posting them in one sitting...just to  save typing time :)  I was so intrigued by Stacy's Curtain Call Colour Challenge this week that I had to make 2 cards.  What beautiful poppies in this inspiration photo :)  I am a big fan of Creative Mint where it came from :) This first card is my latest go-to sketch and the second card uses the current 2 Sketches 4 You sketch.

I wanted to use some more of my new SU ribbon in peach parfait (I am changing this to orange creamsicle!!LOL) and the new aviary set :)  I don't have a cutesy bird cage stamp, so thought this set would be a nice addition to the studio :)  Okay, I hope to get to Mercy's sketch tonight...have a fall themed card in mind :)  Hope your week is going well...TGIF tomorrow!!! The first of the year is the sweetest!!!
