xoxo

I was doing some blurfing last night and came across today's challenge over at 365 Cards for day 316 and decided to play along.

Today's challenge was a recipe to use the following on your card:

4.25x5.5 card
stripes
stickers (any amount)
stamped sentiment
1 additional embellishment of your choosing

I used the following:

4.25x5x5 white linen card
embossing folder with stripes
xoxo (pti) stamped sentiment
love and heart stickers by srm
maya road lace

I think I got everything that was needed for this recipe.

Okay I am going to MIA for a few days as I am going down to watch Micah for a couple days.

Be back soon!

365 cards sketch sunday

I made a couple of cards last night while watching a Christmas movie. Two of them will be shown to you the end of this week for New Release day over at "A Day for Daisies", but I do have one to share with you today.

I made this card for last Sunday's sketch over at 365 Cards.

When I originally created this card I did not alter the sketch and rotate the card, but right before I photographed it I decided to add a sentiment and that is when it happened. The rebel in me came out and I flipped it. Must have something to do with Rose or Gloria and how they always would flip the sketches or alter them.

Here is the sketch that inspired my card. I used BasicGrey "marjolaine" papers and my handmade wrinkle ribbon on the card.

Enjoy!

365 Cards ~ Vintage Love

Okay this is going to be a long post as I am trying to squeeze a couple of different cards into this post that I made for the challenge over at 365 Cards the theme this week is Vintage Love.

Day 268 "vintage plus stamping" so I used my new PTI dress form die and rolled flower die along with a stamp by A Muse. The snowflake is Martha Stewart and the papers are Memory Box "tinsel".

For my next card I combined Day 269 "vintage plus distressing" with the sketch from Mojo Monday. I distressed all the edges with the Tim Holtz distresser and then added vintage photo distress ink to everything. The ribbon is some of my handmade wrinkle ribbon mixed with a Martha Stewart snowflake and a PTI rolled flower. The vintage photo is one from my collection I have gathered through the years.

Here is the sketch that inspired my card.

This next card is for Day 270 "vintage plus dimensional sticker". I used a Crafty Secrets Christmas sticker that I added pop dots to so it would be dimensional on the card. Papers are once again Memory Box, along with the rolled flower, the branch is a McGill punch.

The sketch that inspired my card is this weeks sketch challenge over at Waltzing Mouse.
My last card is for Day 271 "vintage plus lace" and this is my favorite out of the cards I created today. Once again the papers are Memory Box (see I told you I loved them), Martha Stewart snowflake, PTI button and twine, the image is from my collection. I distressed everything with vintage photo distress ink and I colored the victorian lace with some teal Glimmer Mist.

I hope you enjoy my cards and I am hoping to be back tomorrow with one more card from 365 which is the recipe card.

Enjoy!

vintage love ~ day 267

It is "vintage love" week over at 365 Cards and I knew immediately that I had to play along this week. Vintage is one of my true loves when it comes to making cards and I just don't do it often enough.

So the challenge for Day 267 is to create a card and use a stick pin in it.

For my card I have used one of the new released images by Tammy over at A Day for Daisies called "waiting" from the vintage grace collection.

The papers are Cosmo Cricket "circa 1934", the ribbon is more of my handmade wrinkle ribbon, and the stickpin and pin are from my stash.

Enjoy!

winter wonderland

I figured I better get this card posted before the challenge ends today. My card is for Day 238 which is Super Sketchy Sunday over at 365 Cards.

I used a snow globe stamp and colored it in with Copics then added some liquid embroidery for the snow. I cut the image apart to achieve the 4 blocks as in the sketch below. The background of my card is embossed with the sizzix snowflake embossing folder.

Enjoy!

homespun christmas ~ day 224

I have been having so much fun working on Christmas cards and yesterday I made a new one using a sketch from 365 Cards .

I made a quick stop at Blick Art supplies to pick up a couple of Copics and ran inside Archivers too since it was right next door. I just had to pick up some new Christmas papers from Jillibean from the Christmas Chestnut Soup collection called whole cloves. I love the colors. Well I couldn't stop with just two pieces of paper from that collection I also had to get the bakers twine and ribbon too.

I added a white Martha Stewart snowflake and a PTI button. Here is the sketch that inspired my card.

Hope you enjoy!

Happy Easter ~

Happy Easter everyone I woke up with a cold and sore throat today so will not be heading off to see Micah and Cassie as I don't want to get them sick.

Since I am home I decided to make a couple of cards to share with you. This first one is for the challenge over at 365 Cards and since it is Sunday that means time for a Super Sketch.

For this card I used the BasicGrey "nook and pantry" 6x6 paper pad and buttons, the cupcake cutie is from one of Regina's digital sets over at The Cutting Cafe called "hey cupcake", the Happy Birthday is from Endless Creations.

Enjoy!

Day 359 - Gloria's Signature Style

The challenge today over at 365 Cards was to create a card using the style of one of the DT members. Today's card was all about Gloria.

This was the perfect challenge as I happen to have the same exact papers from the new Graphic 45 8x8 paper pad called 'a proper gentleman'.

Here is Gloria's card that we were to be inspired by and then we were to cardlift some part of her card.

And here is my card

I added a Tim Holtz ticket and some PTI buttons to my card. Thanks Gloria for letting me lift a little bit of your card to mine.

Simply Put

I haven't done the challenge over at 365 Cards in awhile so thought I would pop over there today and see what the challenge is. Today Pam wants us to use the following; one piece patterned paper, one embellishment, & one sentiment ~ that's it!

For this card I used my Making Memories Autumn Splendor 4x6 mat paper pack, Marvy flower punch, BasicGrey button, & Pebblesinc. rub-ons to complete my card. I love making flowers and although you can't tell by the picture I sprayed each piece of the flower with gold glimmer mist to give it a little extra something. I threaded my button with the MM paper so it would match the flower.
Enjoy!

Inchies

I could not sleep so decided to get up and do a card challenge or two before going to work at Anchor Paper this morning. My first stop was 365 Cards and the challenge there for Day 245 is called "It's a Matter of Inchies" and we are to use an inchie on our card.

This challenge gave me the opportunity to pull out all the supplies for making inchies that I bought this past summer at a LSS. The supplies are all by Karen Lockhart. I added a PTI vintage white button and some twine. Finished size is 3.5" square.

Shape Up

I am so loving this new set of Holiday trees by Pink Petticoat that I am once again using it on a card.
This card is for Day 230 over at 365 Cards and today's challenge is to make the dominant shape on your card a semi~circle. Well I don't know if mine is dominant but I think you can tell what it is.

I paper pieced the tree and added some matte accents to the star, distressed all the edges of the papers, added some basicgrey buttons that I threaded with some of the left over paper that I printed and then added faux stitiching around all the outside edges.
Enjoy~

Pick Five

The challenge today over at 365 Cards is to pick 5 items to put on your card not including the cardstock. I had to restrain myself from adding a sentiment to the front and threading the buttons. (I will add a sentiment after I post the card ~ is that cheating Rose or Gloria?)

For this card I used Epic Black cardstock, 2 pieces of Jenni Bowlin patterned paper, and 3 Jenni Bowlin buttons from the same collection. I just love these chipboard buttons. For the scallop I used my Stampin' Up border punch.
Hope you enjoy~

Day 217 ~ Stampin' Saturday & Meeting a Friend

I had to work today at Anchor Paper and the store was really busy with everyone planning wedding invitations and Christmas Cards and I had a wonderful surprise in the afternoon. Janice whom I met through 365 Cards was in town to visit her sons for the weekend and she stopped by the store along with her son Justin. Janice was just as sweet in person as she is during our chats online through email and her Son was so nice and oh so handsome. She did some shopping while I worked as her personal guide through the store. Sorry Michelle I would not let Janice take that photo you wanted.

Thought I would do a quick card today and decided to do the challenge over at 365 Cards which was to stamp on your cardstock in the same color. I might have cheated as I stamped Versa Mark on my Orange Pop-Tone paper. The designer paper is from BasicGrey "Eerie" and the ribbon is Bo' Bunny. The sentiment and leaf are from Creative Cafe November set.

Happy Fall

It is a cool crisp morning here in Minnesota and it has me thinking of turning on the oven and baking something wonderful, like pumpkin pie, apple crisp or even making a nice chicken soup. Yummy.

The challenge today over at 365 Cards is called "In Pieces" which means we are to use the following pumpkin and place it on our cards. I decided not to place a face on my pumpkin as he just didn't go with my card when it was done. Hopefully, I won't be considered a rebel along with Gloria and Rose for not following the rules.

I used some new paper by Bo Bunny called Kitchn Spice Cinnamon for the front of my card and then I printed my pumpkin onto orange, brown and green papers and ran them through my Big Shot with a couple of Cuttlebug embossing folders (swiss dots and bark). I added some dark brown May Arts ribbon and 3 of my orange dew drops that I picked up when we went down to Hastings & Red Wing this past week. I distressed the pumpkin using Ranger Antique Linen ink.
Enjoy~

Day 206 - Tuesday Triple

Today over at 365 cards we are to create a card and do everyting in Triplicate except for the sentiment.

For my card I used the new BasicGrey "Indian Summer" 6x6 paper pack and chose 3 of the patterns for the strips on the card and 3 different patterns to do the leaves in. (leaves are cuttlebug) I also used 3 buttons from the Indian Summer collection. This card will go in the mail to Chrissie along with her Indian Summer goodies that I got her for winning when my blog hit the 20,000 visitors mark.
Enjoy~

Day 205 Color Scheme

I have been wanting to make a card for my friend Pam who lives in Oregon to let her know that I miss her so today's challenge over at 365 Cards was the perfect time to make that card.
The challenge is to create a card using a specific set of colors and today the colors are:

And here is my card using those colors (plus a few extra). I have to admit that today's card is totally card lifted from one of the challenge blogs I visited. I really liked the sketch they used and decided to copy it and one of the cards. Sorry I can't remember who's blog it was on.

for this card I used my new sassafrass lass 6x6 paper called sweet marmalade, memory box snowpuff branch, SU border punch, sentiment is computer generated, twine and misc. button from my stash, and I colored the tree with liquid pearls in gold, mint green, and white opal.
enjoy~
