lets get graphic

Sorry I am so late in posting these cards today I got caught up in cleaning and sorting stuff in my craftroom. I went with my friend Tami yesterday to a local stamp store for a day of stamping and laughing.

I didn't accomplish a lot while we were there, but I did get these two Graphic 45 cards done using the 8x8 paper pad "a proper gentleman".

For this first card I also used pearls that I colored with my copics and October Afternoon "mini market stickers".

For this next card along with the G45 papers I used the EK embossed scallop punch, Studio 18 rhinestones, and the stamps are by BLine.

Enjoy!

Flutterby Wednesdays

I decided to try out a new challenge blog today called "Flutterby Wednesdays" and this weeks challenge was to create a clean and simple card using butterflies, fairies, or angels on your card.

Well this is my kind of challenge as I love any card that is just clean and simple. For my card I used my new Martha Stewart butterfly punch along with some Memory Box papers from the "gossamer" collection. The sentiment is a rubon from pebblesinc.

If you have time stop over and play along with this weeks challenge.

Enjoy!

tuesday's creations

When I was with Tami having coffee she showed me a cute card that was made and the body of the card was in the shape of the "labels 8" die. Well you know I had to go home and try making a few. I also used some new bling that I bought. All cards were made using the October Afternoon "fly a kite" and "thrift shop" paper pads.

The baby card will be heading to Texas along with a gift to my Nephew Jake and his wife Leah who just had their first child yesterday. A sweet 7 lb. 3 oz. baby boy named Adrian Charles.

Did you notice that bright orange flower? That was my first attempt at making a Prima knockoff with Satin fabric. I must admit I love how it turned out and you can bet you will be seeing more of them.

The last card is made using an image from Sassy Cheryl's digital stamps. I love this image and had so much fun coloring her in.

Okay that is it for me for now I need to get ready soon as Justin has a Physical Therapy appointment today at Courage Center.

Enjoy!

Play ~ folded paper frame

Well it is Tuesday and time for another fun challenge over at Project Tuesday and this weeks challenge is to create a Folded Paper Frame.

This was so much fun to make and oh so easy. I used my 8x8 pad of Graphic 45 "on the boardwalk" papers along with Neenah Epic Black and Natural White linen. I ran the card through my big shot using the cuttlebug "swiss dots" embossing folder. Added a Timster "adage ticket" and some black pearls I had. Flower is from a small EK Success punch and the button is PTI. I distressed the ticket and edges of the papers with Rangers "vintage photo" distressing inks.

I hope you will stop over at Project Tuesday and give this latest challenge a try.

Enjoy!

for the birthday boy

My friend Tami sent me an email this morning challenging me to do this weeks challenge over at Taylored Expressions. Well it was a fabulous sketch so I told her game on. So now that I have posted my card we will have to wait and see when she post hers.

How fun was this sketch and it was the perfect time to use up some of my old papers "cogsmo" by no other than Cosmo Cricket. The truck image is one of the newer sets over at "The Cutting Cafe". I fussy cut around the truck and added buttons for wheels and added matte accents to the truck to give it a little bit of dimension then added the round sentiment from the same set.

Enjoy!

sunday mornings and october afternoon

It is a grey day here in Minnesota and the perfect day to drink coffee, sit in your jammies, and make a few cards.

Both cards I have today are using the new October Afternoon "thrift shop" papers. If you have not seen these yet, I suggest you run to your nearest store and check them out.

This card is for the newest challenge over at Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch and along with the OA papers and mini market stickers I used my pure innocence stamp set "my balloon", BasicGrey button, and I distressed everything with Ranger distress ink in "antique photo".

And this next card is for the new challenge over at Card Positioning Systems #164 and for this card I have once again used the OA papers along with the mini market stickers, and journal cards. The ribbon is by May Arts and I distressed it with my Ranger "antique photo".

Hope you enjoy the cards and now I need to start thinking about getting ready to go meet my friend Tami for coffee at our favorite Caribou.

not another rose

It is pouring rain outside as I type this and although I wish it were not raining we really need it. Normally I love rain, but today I have to work at Anchor Paper and my umbrella is where it should be "in the car". Oh well it is only water and it won't hurt me.

I was so happy to see that the challenge over at Card Patterns was a clean and simple sketch this week.

As I said my card is pretty CAS. I used BasicGrey "lime rickey" papers and Neenah "solar white linen" for the base of my card.
Enjoy!

Celebrate

Oh how I love Spring in Minnesota and we are having the most perfect weather you could ever ask for.

Well you know what else I love? Clean and Simple Stamping the sketches they come up with are probably some of my favorite ones to do.

I also love making flowers which is evident in most of my cards lately. This flower is made out of ribbon. I picked this ribbon up today at Anchor Paper and it is such a bright orange color. The paper and sentiment are from PTI and the pearls are Mark Richards.

Enjoy!

new card challenge

Happy Earth Day to all of you! While doing some blurfing yesterday I cam across this new card challenge (new to me at least) called Crazy 4 Challenges and thought I would give it a try. I also had a new digital image from Whimsy Haven that I wanted to try out. If you haven't stopped over at Whimsy Haven every Wednesday Lindsay offers one digi image for $1.

Since it is Earth Day I used papers from DCWV called "the green stack" which is made from 70% recycled papers. I distressed everything with the Tim Holtz edge distresser, colored it with my Tombow markers and the sentiment is from pebblesinc.
Enjoy!

My card today is inspired by the challenge over at Nina's blog. I love her style  and this card especially as it gave me a chance to work on an another amazing flower.

My card was inspired by the beautiful bloom and the fussy cut sentiment.

You can bet you are going to be seeing a few of these in the weeks to come. Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy!

sssc65 ~ all about boys

Regina over at The Cutting Cafe has come up with some really cute new digi stamps this week. And when I saw the card sketch for this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge I knew I had to use "all about boys" and "all about boys background" digital stamps.

Along with the printable stamps from The Cutting Cafe I used Neenah Linen cardstock in black, red, and solar white, Misc. buttons from my collection, and Cuttlebug "tire track" embossing folder.

The Farm

I wanted to share a couple of pictures with you from this weekend when I went up north to Brainerd with Shannon and her Girl Scout troop. Lot's of fun to be had on the farm.

This is just a sampling of the photos taken during our fun trip to the farm this weekend. The girls who are in the same Girl Scout troop were working on a couple of badges. They spent a lot of time painting this old tractor wheel and then planting a bunch of seeds inside.

If you want to see more stop over and visit me on facebook.

for ~amy~

My friend Amy sent me a link the other day because she knows how much I love making paper flowers and today I decided to give it a try.

My card is for the challenge over at Card Patterns.

These flowers are quick and easy to make. I used papers from the BasicGrey "green at heart" collection along with the SU leaf punch. I distressed the edges of the papers and then did some faux stitching around it.
Enjoy!

FTL86

It was a beautiful day here in Minnesota today and this morning I met my friend Doris at Archivers. It was fun to just sit and chat and catch up while having a cup of coffee from Starbucks.

My card is for this weeks challenge over at Clean and Simple Stamping. I love the card sketches here as they are just CAS fun.

For this card I used Neenah linen cardstock for the black, white and charcoal grey. The circles were cut from various circle punches that I have (I would of liked one more small size but didn't have it). The papers are from My Minds Eye "Home" collection. The sentiment is a rub-on by pebblesinc.

Enjoy!

happy birthday

While I was doing my morning blurfing today when I stopped at my friend Amy's blog I saw that Whimsy Haven was having it's first blog hop and was also offering this cute digital image for only $1. Well you know I love digi images and of course had to make her mine.

Right away I knew alex would make a cute tag image for the sketch challenge over at Skipping Stones Design.

The papers are BasicGrey "green at heart", button is PTI. I colored her up using my Tombow markers. Still trying to perfect my coloring.

Enjoy!

many thanks

My project today is for the newest challenge over at Project Tuesday and this week we are making a card purse.

This was so much fun to make and super easy. For my project I used Cosmo Cricket papers from the "early bird" collection. You know I had to add some flowers to this project so along with my handmade rose I also pulled out some of my many flower punches to make some simple yet effective cards. The letters are "thickers" by American Crafts.

I hope you will join us this week at Project Tuesday!

Enjoy!

It's a Beautiful Day!

It is a beautiful day here Minnesota and we are going to barbeque chicken on the grill and I am in the process of making potato salad to go with it.

I have a card to share with you which was inspired by the newest challenge over at CPS162.

For this card I used some old paper in my stash by Scenic Route called "sonoma", I added some liquid pearls to the center of the flowers, PTI vintage buttons, and dew drops to the centers. Sentiment is also from PTI. The border punch on the inside of the card is from SU and was a gift from my friend Connie.

Enjoy!

Congratulations

I was visiting my friend Amy's blog and came across this sketch challenge to celebrate Nina's blogaversary.

This was the perfect for me because it is just a clean and simple sketch that you could use many different ways.

This paper is new from K&Company called "Lion Sleeps" and I thought it was so cute that I just had to buy it in both the pink and the blue. This too was something I picked up at Archivers.

Well that is it for me today ~ I am going to try and start working on getting things ready for a garage sale here at the end of the month.

Enjoy!

to tag or not to tag

I was chatting via Skype with my friend Michelle in Australia last night and while we chatted we each worked on a project. My task was to do a tag using the new Hero Arts "friend" background stamp and Unity "dress form" stamp that I picked up at Archivers.

I think I like how it turned out ~ something is missing from it and I can't figure out what it is. I know whatever it is the color should be black.

I added some pom-pom ribbon, a SU leaf that I sprayed with glimmer mist, the paper rose is made from a sheet of music and then sprayed with glimmer mist. I added some ribbon and attached a vintage finding that I hung a key and heart from. Sentiment was created with my Dymo labeler.

Enjoy!

getting there

Although I am not 100% better I think I am starting to turn the corner. I went to the pharmacy and picked up a couple of drugs the pharmacist recommended to get me through this.

My card today is for the Challenge over at Our Creative Corner and it is a sketch challenge (my favorite).

I ran a few errands this morning and one of them happened to be right near my local Archivers. Well you know I had two 30% off coupons and I knew they would have something I just had to have.

I picked up the new 6x6 pad from BasicGrey "green at heart", along with some new stamps from both Unity and Hero Arts and I picked up one of the new Tim Holtz flower dies for the big shot.

Enjoy!
