Just as the band was preparing to embark on their US tour, Carlos presented the band with the ultimatum, either Mike Carabello was out or Carlos was leaving. Offended by this strong arm tactic the band voted to go on with out Carlos. A 15 year old Neal Schon would be the sole guitarist. Two weeks into the tour Carabello quit the band, upon hearing this Carlos flies out to rejoin the band on tour. When Carlos arrived Greg Rolie told him he would stay for the remainder of the tour saying quote " I'll play .. but don't look at Me ! Don't talk to Me ! " Rolie and Schon would go on to form the multi-platinum Journey, with Schon becoming the lynch pin, the only founding member who stays through their whole career.

Few bands could have recovered from such tragic personnel losses as did The Allman Brothers Band in 1973. After the death of Duane Allman in 1971 and Berry Oakley the following year, few would have thought The Allman Brothers Band could carry on. One key to the group's remarkably successful recuperation was their recognition of the futility of trying to replace such distinctive musicians. Rather than go through the anguish of trying, the group brought in fresh blood in the form of pianist Chuck Leavell and bassist Lamar Williams. With the release of Brothers and Sisters, they ventured in a more countrified direction that won many new fans while retaining a good portion of the old. Then, in a remarkable twist of fate, the band suddenly had a hit single racing up the charts with "Ramblin' Man." Unexpectedly, the Allman Brothers had become the most popular live act in America.

This show captures the group right at that point in time. They are still feeling their way back on older material, but play all the newer material from Brothers and Sisters and some of the Eat a Peach material that hadn't been previously performed in concert with a renewed enthusiasm. Much to the amazement of die-hard Duane fans, Dickey Betts rose to the challenge of exclusively handling guitar duties for the group, and proved a more than capable lead guitarist in his own right, developing his own, distinctive style while acknowledging his debt to brother Duane.

On this tour, the band was primarily playing huge sporting arenas and outdoor festivals, such as Watkins Glen that summer; but, as a favor to Bill Graham, they agreed to play the much smaller Winterland on this date.

Following Graham's introduction, the band kicks off with an hour or so of songs from Brothers and Sisters and some of the blues covers from their earlier albums. Betts' guitar playing had become far more expressive, and to everyone's surprise, he had absorbed a lot of Allman's electric bottleneck slide technique. The nearly 18-minute "Elizabeth Reed" shows just how inventive and distinctive Betts had become.

During the second hour, the band grows more adventurous. Starting with the high paced shuffle of "Southbound," Betts' hot blooded guitar and Leavell's graceful piano playing set an energetic tone. Next is the Django Reinhardt inspired instrumental "Jessica," full of dancing keyboards and expressive joy. Following a ten minute jam on "You Don't Love Me," featuring improvisations on the "Amazing Grace" theme, comes the highlight of this show: "Les Brers In A Minor." The most sophisticated and complicated Eat a Peach track, this piece was particularly difficult to play shows this ABB lineup at both their compositional and expressive best. The lovely "Blue Sky" and bluesy "Trouble No More" end the set.

After the emotional rollercoaster of the preceding year, it's both beautiful and moving to see the band, in its new reincarnation, finding their own, distinctive direction - and without losing an ounce of speed. Whatever forms and paths the group would go on to take, the ride, and all of its excitement, was far from over.

FZ, Ray White, Patrick O'Hearn, Terry Bozzio, Eddie Jobson, Lady Bianca

In October 1976 Zappa toured with vocalists Ray White and Lady Bianca (another strongly gospel-influenced singer), Eddie Jobson (freed from Roxy Music as Bryan Ferry split for a solo career) on violin and keyboards and the O'Hearn/Bozzio rhythm section.  With so few participants, there was less need for the elaborate arrangements used for larger forces, and the music was exceptionally fluid - the sound wet and live.  The was room for a great deal of spontaneity.

Frank invited Lady Bianca to tour with him as a backing vocalist and pianist but this only lasted a month as she felt uncomfortable singing some of his highly sexual lyrics.

Lady Bianca was in the band when the tour started in Miami on October 16, 1976, and She quit sometime between November 11th-16th '76. The last tape with Bianca is Quebec November 11th and the first without her is Toronto November 16.  She sang "You Didn't Try To Call Me" and "Black Napkins" in virtually every show.

Lady Bianca is featured on “Wind Up Workin’ in a Gas Station” from the Rykodisc Cd “You Can’t Do That On Stage Anymore Vol. 6”. Other performances can be found on various Zappa bootlegs.

PEARL JAM - Transmission Impossible

                                            Pearl Jam – Transmission Impossible [3CD] (2015)

THREE DISCS OF LEGENDARY EARLY NINETIES PEARL JAM PERFORMANCES Pearl Jam entered Seattle’s London Bridge Studios in March 1991 to record their debut album, Ten. Drummer Dave Krusen left the band in May 1991 after checking himself into rehabilitation and was replaced by Matt Chamberlain, but after just a handful of gigs Chamberlain left too and was superseded by Dave Abbruzzese, who played the rest of Pearl Jam’s live shows supporting Ten. Released on August 27, 1991, Ten contained eleven tracks dealing with dark subjects like depression, suicide, loneliness, and murder. The album was slow to sell, but by the second half of 1992 it became a breakthrough success, being certified gold and reaching number two on the Billboard charts. It stayed on the charts for more than two years, and has gone on to become one of the highest-selling rock records ever, going 13 x platinum. With the success of Ten, Pearl Jam became a key member of the Seattle grunge explosion, along with Alice in Chains, Nirvana, and Soundgarden. Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain angrily attacked Pearl Jam, claiming the band were commercial sellouts, and argued Ten was not a true alternative album because it had so many prominent guitar leads, but he later reconciled with Vedder, and they reportedly were on amicable terms before Cobain’s death in 1994. Pearl Jam headed back into the studio in early 1993 to record their sophomore record, Released on October 19, 1993, Vs. sold 950,378 copies in its first week of release and outperformed all other entries in the Billboard top ten that week combined. Album three Vitalogy was released on December 6, 1994 and became the second-fastest-selling album in history, with more than 877,000 units sold in its first week, sitting just behind the groups previous release in the record books. It is from this period of Pearl Jams history that the material on this boxed set is drawn. Featuring three legendary live FM broadcasts, one each from 92, 93 & 94, originally transmitted from Chicago, Las Vegas and Atlanta respectively, this collection illustrates perfectly the extraordinary power of a live Pearl Jam performance even at this early stage of their career.

Yes preceded their show with a moving video tribute to the late Chris Squire set to a recording of "Onward," with a single white spotlight illuminating his Rickenbacker bass.

The crowd was really wonderful for the show, you can hear them singing along after Steve Howe invited them to join in for "I've Seen All Good People."

We were in the 11th row, just to the right of center. With Yes' standard set up (from left to right): Steve Howe/Geoff Downes, Jon Davison, Alan White/Billy Sherwood; we were about halfway between Davison and Sherwood.

For the Yes portion of the show. Steve Howe omitted "Clap."
Everything recorded by GeoffreyM on a TASCAM DR-05 to SD card using 24-bit WAV at 44.1k.

The cutting, converting to FLAC and EQ-ing was done by Remy with Adobe Audition CC 2014.

Graphics for the front cover for Thanks For All The Fish bootleg include the US poster Roger Dean created for the Yes North America Summer 2015 Tour. Photographs are from the August 23, 2015 show at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida.

Most Bad Company Fans have been waiting 30 years for a live album from the original band line up, so when the reunion tour happened in 1999 and Mick Ralphs in an interview stated that he was going to sort through his private tape collection with the intention of releasing a full live show on CD, fans had something to get excited about at last. It took another five years coming then just as it was about to be released, it was deleted, due to a contractual dispute from other members of the band I've been told, claiming they did not give their permission for the release.

A very small handful of copies of this CD did slip out and I was very fortunate to lay my hands on one, even if it did cost me a small fortune. I must say it was worth every penny. The sound quality is spot on and with loads of mixing desk tapes to choose from, Mick Ralphs is able to pick what he thinks is the best show from the tour. I think he's made a great choice. Bad Company's first three albums are generally regarded by most fans as the best and that's exactly what you get here. The best of the first three albums, Live!

It's to be hoped that this album can be released sometime because every fan deserves to hear it, but unfortunately this is unlikely. It's also a shame the band just like many other bands could not put the fans first for once, instead of their petty squabbles.

Please Note: -  The EAC Log state that: - No tracks could be verified as accurate
You may have a different pressing from the one(s) in the database

This is possible as there are so many fakes around, some have added extra bonus tracks and one I
know of has even added an extra disc of Paul Rodgers live material making a 3 CD Set. There are so many fakes and so few originals around that the version in the database may be a fake. This one is definitely a genuine original silver pressing, it cost me a fortune at the time. I’ve run this by the staff who say it’s OK to post.

YES - Live in Las Vegas - August 25, 2002.

YES

Live in Las Vegas on August 25, 2002.

This is a superb quality soundboard.
Probably a leak from the Westwood One archives, as WWO aired a 60 minutes edit of this show.
So this is not your typical stereo soundboard feed, but a multi track mix.

Better than most official live CDs. Yes fans should not miss this one!
