"YesSongs2"
Recorded by: unknown
Remastered by: TheTooleMan January, 2005
Art by TheTooleMan (with involuntary contributions by Roger Dean)
There are two recordings of this show: one contains the entire concert except the encore, but it has several cuts in the music, lousy sound quality, and terrible speed problems. You become sea-sick from the constant pitch changes. This may seem appropriate for a live recording of Tales from Topographic Oceans, but it isn't desirable.
The other recording is this one. The bad news is that it only includes the four tracks from the new Yes album of early 1974, but the good news is that the quality is very good. The tape appears to have been made up close to the stage, a good thing since music recorded from across the arena at Madison Square Garden echoes like a sewer pipe.
There is a little distortion in the original recording. At some points the bass overrides the rest of the sound, and in a few cases the audio is overdriven, either from the sound system or the recorder. None of this is too severe, and I minimized it as much as possible through the remastering process. There is also some tape hiss apparent in quieter parts of the music. Noise reduction was used sparingly to reduce this noise, but not enough to significantly lower the high-frequency response of the original tape.
This same recording was used for the vinyl double album bootleg "The Affirmatives," though the quality of the tape copy used for that pressing ran too fast and sounded like an AM radio tuned off-center. On that album, The Remembering was faded out before it ended. On this copy of the tape, it runs to the end of the song.
The taper missed part of the introduction to The Ancient. I substituted the lower-quality tape here, as it contained the full introduction.
Usually, I undersell my remasters as I don't like hype and prefer people to listen and draw their own conclusions. I like to tell you all the little wrinkles and imperfections in the source so you know I didn't overlook them or cause the sound to be worse than the original. In this case, and modesty aside, I will say that this remastered recording will blow your hair off.
Yes stopped playing all four sides of Tales after their Detroit show on February 28, 1974. Considering that this is the best recording of a complete live performance of the double album, I took the liberty of naming it as if it was the intended follow-up to their live triple disk vinyl album, "YesSongs."
I give you "YesSongs 2"

This version was digitized by Hans Devente in June 2014 as two flac files.
There was some clipping on the right channel as it ran a bit too "hot" for the levels he had set.
I used Audacity's Clipfix to repair the minor clipping, chaptered the songs, spliced the two sides together.

This is one for the Fleetwood Mac fans. While we had earlier shared a very good audience recording of the Columbus show, fans are likely to enjoy this soundboard more.
Thanks to Alzeppelin who recorded and shared the show at Dime. Alzeppelin noted:
For this show I tried out a pair of CSC Mics I had purchased but am on the fence when it comes to using them again because the sound came out sort of thin compared to what I actually heard during the show. The IEM feed is well balanced favoring Stevie’s vocals and the backup guitar player and singers but when mixed with the AUD it really helps fill out the sound.
There are a small minor hiccups during the show where there were a couple pops in the IEM feed and I tried to edit them out as much as possible but they are still there.
I hope people realize how hard it is to tape one let alone two sources for a show. It takes a lot of time and money to come home with a recording like this.
If I see any of my sources being sold I will stop torrenting them.

Here we go!! John Belushi comes out with blind DJ from London Ontario and makes some jokes about his lazy bastard partner from the Blues Brothers movie laying on some rock down in the Bahamas. Belushi goes to introduce Keith Richards and the place goes berserk. Keith tries to read a written statement but the crowd is just overwhelming and his just kind of tosses it away and say’s “I’m just happy to be here”. Ronnie Wood comes out as does the rest of the recently formed New Barbarians which included Bobby Keys, Stanley Clarke, Ian Mc Lagan and Ziggy Modeliste for what is only their second public performance the first being several hours prior. They rock through 7 or so songs, Sweet little Rock and Roller, Infecshun, F.U.C. her, Seven Days (classic tune) Breathe On Me, I Can Feel the Fire and the last and very very poignant Before They Make Me Run. Yes!! Everyone leaves the stage except for Keith and Ronnie. At this point the crowd is just about to start pulling hair out. From my vantage point I can already see Jagger jumping around back stage. Out comes an acoustic guitar and a stool for Keith. Now above all else what followed made this show a rock history event. Jagger flounces out on stage wearing pretty similar gear to what he wore during the 1978 Some Girls tour, tight red plastic pants and a light pink cotton sleeveless shirt all ripped down to nothing and taped with duct tape. The crowd does its thing, Ronnie fades to the far left and not before and not since have the Stones performed a duet. Keith and Mick do Prodigal Son from the Beggars Banquet album. Keith is sitting on stool strumming, 3-Blind Date Bootleg rolling stones 1979Mick leaning in to the mic like he does. I get goose bumps even as I write this. As the years go on so does the impact of this simple song performed as a duet by the glimmer twins. Just awesome!!!! (this wasn’t done during the afternoon gig) Charlie and Bill emerge and the Rolling Stones plow into Let it Rock. The set was basically 9 or 10 tunes they played on the Some Girls tour, such as Beast of Burden, Just My Imagination, Shattered, Miss You, Star Star. More of the barbarians come back out on stage and they all finished off with a howling Jumpin’ Jack Flash. The sense of being literally on stage was unbelievable. At times if I leaned forward enough Jagger would actually be directly to one side or the other like playing behind me, Wild!! I could of slung him over my shoulder and at times felt like I could of hit Keith or Ronnie’s strings if I wanted. Blind Date Bootleg rolling stones 1979The show went by so quickly. It was like the show started and ended in 15 minutes. I managed a pick from the stage and was more than happy. To recall it note for note I couldn’t but the overall vibe that this was rock history in the making and the sense of rock & roll Kingdom being there in this moment was just amazing. We were all Kings for a day!! I didn’t take any pictures but I have found over the years a few here and there. I also found a bootleg recording of the show called Blind Date. The best picture I found being a Dimo Safari picture from the 1982 CHUM FM calendar and a couple from Neil Preston a very celebrated rock photographer. As well as few in a rock head shop in Niagara Falls. http://www.filefactory.com/file/cboxy8ptyor/Stns%20%2004-22-1979%20%28SBD%29.rar

This is not my cassette extraction, it comes from the vast library of Bill Brown.
One of the overlooked gems of the tour, likely because it was recorded with less-than-stellar equipment on a single 120min cassette. (For those going back that far this means Low Bias)
There are some rough spots near the leader as the tape flips in RSOG and the whole thing cuts off shortly into Ritual, but everything else is there and clear enough for the tales aficionado to enjoy. Certainly the performance of the Remembering tonight will indeed make it worth your time.
No speed-tampering or audio tweaking has been done to the original product here. This is not a high-fidelity tape. What you get is what's in the box. Take it or leave it.

Please try to remember:
A) The lifespan of a cassette tape is not forever. In the grand scheme of things, magnetic media does not last long at all, and cassette tape life is from ten to thirty years, depending on storage. Remember, it is simply a plastic tape that carries a thin coating of magnetic material, usually iron oxide, on which a varying magnetic pattern is imposed during recording.
B) Like this show, a lot of tapes were traded to other collectors, thus receiving generational lineage beyond the Master Cassette. So a tape of a tape of a tape and all, may mean that some collectors have better-preserved or longer-lasting copies, even if the generation is unknown. Hence, CASSETTE tape copies, not CDRs of some of the shows may need to be examined to try to preserve some of this material.
C) The time is NOW! information is being lost, shedding away in boxes in basements. Please make a concerted effort to make clean digital transfers (hopefully better than this one) of some of these tapes. Discus among yourselves.
Enjoy the show!

Tape transfer by Joey 11/2006
Mastered for CD by TheTooleMan 12/2006
I was excited and honored when Fred contacted me with news that his friend Tom had an uncirculated recording of a Yes concert which was thought to have never been recorded. Would I like to have a shot at mastering it and presenting it to the world? YES!
Fred sent me a copy of the recording that was made on a stand-alone CD recorder. While the audio quality was good, I was disappointed to find that the original tapes have considerable speed irregularities, probably resulting from low batteries.
The original tapes were transferred again by Joey, who created a 24-bit 48 kHz digital version. I applied speed correction, EQ, and dynamics with Sound Forge and Vegas.
Considerable work went into correcting the random speed changes, and I could probably spend the rest of my life correcting every minor speed fluctuation in this recording. While I was able to fix most of the major problems, some wow and flutter remains. Roundabout suffers the most, and was very difficult to correct. I added an effect to the end of the song to characterize the exhausted batteries dying on the final note.
Now for the even more exciting news: Fred also recorded the same show. It will be seeing the light of day soon, after 30 years of storage. I am hopeful it will be of better quality overall, although this recording is quite listenable as it is now.

About The Allstars from Charlottesville,Va
Allstars began in 1973 working the east coast/southern USA touring circuit that also included George Thoroughgood, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Roomful Of Blues, Delbert McClinton, The Nighthawks, a young Stevie Ray Vaughan and many other now well-established blues & rock acts - many of whom they frequently shared the stage with. The Allstars (1973-1981), had the opportunity to participate in jam sessions and gigs with Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Bobby Bland, Sunnyland Slim, John Hammond Jr., Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes and a host of other blues and rock giants. In 1978 The Allstars only album, “Tip Your Waitress” was released on Adelphi Records (Adelphi AD4112), and received a rave review by Nick Tosches in Rolling Stone Magazine.

JOHN MAYALL & The Bluesbreakers – Live In 1967
John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers – Live In 1967 (2015)
mp3 320 kbps | 171 MB
This special live recording is available courtesy of a hardcore Mayall fan from Holland by the name of Tom Huissen, who concealed a one-channel reel-to-reel tape recorder on his person as he attended shows at a handful of London clubs (including the legendary Marquee) in early 1967, recording the band’s performance each night. The tapes Huissen made of these shows remained unheard and unreleased until they were recently acquired by Mayall who, working with Forty Below’s Eric Corne, restored them to releasable condition. “While the source recording was very rough and the final result is certainly not hi-fidelity, it does succeed in allowing us to hear how spectacular these performances are,” says Corne in a press release for the new album.
Tracklist:
01. All Your Love (3:54)
02. Brand New Start (4:50)
03. Double Trouble (6:30)
04. Streamline (4:00)
