INDIGENOUS - Indigenous Featuring Mato Nanji" with very special guest - Jonny Lang.
2012 album from the Native American band fronted by Mato Nanji. This release stretches Mato's already established musicianship into a hard-hitting, guitar-driven package of musical excursions and playful songwriting. Joining Mato on the opening song is the soulful Jonny Lang. 'Free Yourself, Free Your Mind' is a hook laden track providing the groundwork for two true guitar masters to jam it out without borders or fences. The duo has been working together on the Experience Hendrix Tour for a number of years along with other guitar heroes including Kenny Wayne Shepard, Robert Randolph and Los Lobos legend, David Hidalgo. Mato mentions what an honor and learning experience the tour has been for him. - amazon.com

INDIGENOUS - LIVE At Pachyderm Studio in 1998
Performed for a tiny audience at the renowned Pachyderm Studio in 1998, this CD is the best example of what Indigenous sound like live. While their national debut Things We Do is an excellent introduction to their music, their live shows are far above and beyond any studio recording in terms of energy and performance, as the entire band frequently takes off into 10-minute jams to mind-blowing effect. Live at Pachyderm Studio provides a taste of that, including extended versions of several previously recorded songs, as well as previously unavailable material. An item of special interest is the cover of Hendrix's "Red House"; the guitarist's influence on Indigenous frontman Mato Nanji is undeniable. The production on this album is so clear, putting it in the stereo and cranking it up might be almost as good as hearing them live. This band is addictive, and Live at Pachyderm Studio is the perfect fix.

INDIGENOUS - THE ACOUSTIC SESSIONS
Mato Nanji provides the heartbeat of the band Indigenous, along with the warm dusty voice and the soaring, spirited guitar fireworks that have earned the group from South Dakota's Nakota Nation a place among roots rock's elite. Celebrating the high points and great songs from their previous releases, The Acoustic Sessions, the first-ever acoustic release from Indigenous, features all of the band's best known songs, broken down into an acoustic arrangement.
"This album is a collection of some of my favorite songs that celebrate 10 years of releasing albums, starting with Things We Do in 1998 and finishing with Broken Lands in 2008. I wanted to do something special to thank all the Indigenous fans out there for supporting us from the beginning, and for the continued support as we open a new chapter with this album. Every song that I have ever written began with the acoustic guitar, so it only felt natural to create an acoustic album. For me, everything has always been about making music. It is who I am and who I always will be. I am honored to have the opportunity to share a part of who I am with all of you." - Mato Nanji

INDIGENOUS - Things We Do
In the late 1990s, a whole slew of young guitarists emerged, all making a grab for the Stevie Ray Vaughan mantle. In this group, one must include Mato Nanji, guitarist for the family venture Indigenous. Unlike many of his predecessors, Mato Nanji may actually be deserving of the honor. That's a bold statement, but a listen to "Begin to Wonder," the instrumental "Holdin' Out," or especially "Nothing I Can Do" off of Things We Do are sufficient to justify it. The album opens with the low-key, midtempo title track, but it's on "Got to Tell You" that Things We Do really hits its stride. On the whole, this CD is a very strong effort, especially for musicians still in their early 20s.

INDIGENOUS - Broken Lands
Guitar virtuoso/singer/songwriter Mato Nanji returns as Indigenous with his sophomore Vanguard release, Broken Lands, on August 19th. With Broken Lands, Mato Nanji (which means “Standing Bear” as translated from the Nakota dialect) articulates an intensely personal record that pays tribute to his Native American heritage. The twelve songs written by Mato and his wife, Leah hold special meaning with lyrics that speak straight from the heart. Leah Nanji also provides background vocals. The title, Broken Lands, is pulled from the lyrics of “Place I Know”, a song about the reality of life on the reservation. Raised as a member of the Nakota Sioux Nation on the Yankton Indian Reservation in South Dakota, Mato first came to musical prominence when he formed Indigenous with his brother, sister and cousin. In 1998, they released their debut, Things We Do, which received wide, mass reception and included the Top 10 smash hit “Now That You’re Gone” and the Top 20 rock singles “Things We Do” and “Got To Tell You.” Indigenous continued their radio success with 2000’s Circle, which included the triumphs of “Little Time” and “Rest Of My Days.” After three successful albums, the siblings went their separate ways, and Mato forged ahead as the face of Indigenous releasing his Vanguard debut, Chasing The Sun. Chasing The Sun’s fiery blues prowess solidified Mato as one of blues-rock’s most exciting talents. While his debut album focused purely on guitar ingenuity and Chasing The Sun made the natural evolution toward lyrical substance, Broken Lands displays the culmination of maturity both sonically and lyrically. This new recording marks an augmentation of the Blues into Roots, World and Americana territories, by incorporating native percussion, slide, lap steel and acoustic guitars, and through the creative partnership formed with producer/mixer Jamie Candiloro (Ryan Adams, Willie Nelson, REM).
