Market Picks: Habitat Brights

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9
What's the weather like with you, friends? I know, I know, it's so British of me to talk about the weather but we do it so well; in London it's grey, damp and overcast so I'm craving some full on brights. Thankfully, Habitat have more than enough colour to go around this season and, well, that makes Mr. Bazaar a happy interior camper! I'll pulled together some of my favourite pieces that would work well to introduce into your home right now as a quick colour update. Feeling a lack of warmth and colour in the bedroom? The Holbeck bedspread is for you. Needing a little more light in the dining room as the days grow shorter? The Saunders rubber pendant shade is what you need. My favourite idea is to combine different coloured Kilo tables - three in a row or four together as a square - to make a colour block coffee table. This is such a quick and relatively affordable way to bring customised colour into a living room. Which pieces do you like best?

Country Road's Colourful New Collection

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8
Oh, Country Road, how I love thee! I look forward to your collections like a toddler looks forward to Christmas morning. Whilst many of us north of the Equator begin to endure the long slog through winter, you've so kindly brought us warmth and sunshine via your cheerful and bright new collection for the Australian Spring Summer season. As always, I'm enamoured by your colourful offering, and feel like I've fallen especially hard this time around. You just had to throw in some striped bistro tableware to push me over the line into Interiors Shop Obsession, didn't you? If only I could be cross with you, but somehow each time I see your yellow stripe linens and graphic pillows, I can't help but smile and forgive you for burning a hole in my wallet!

Market Picks: Homebase Winter Blues

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7
After seeing the new homeware collection at Homebase I'm feeling inspired to create a scheme that resembles Nordic blue hues. I think the squirrel ornament is super sweet and would be a playful touch to a bookcase or sideboard. The teal sofa would pair beautifully with the statement rug that has teal and midnight blue leaves detailing. I'm always a fan of a dotty pattern, so the blue dot tableware set would be perfect for a kitchen dresser, especially if you mixed in pine cones for a seasonal twist. Finally, the bedspread needs a date with my bed before winter is out! Which pieces do you like, friends?

Dulux Colour Trend: Home Factory

The Industrial look has been enjoying something of a resurgence in interior design across the past few years, with many brands keying into the rustic appeal of the trend. Dulux are the latest brand to do just that as they celebrate industrial chic with their latest paint collection, Home Factory. The autumn/winter trend-led paint collection includes 16 hues from petrol blues and delicate teals to heritage brights and chalky neutrals, all of which will help bring warmth and colour to a utilitarian scheme. Mr. Bazaar's highlights include the wonderfully named, Raven Plume, an enveloping shade of navy blue, Citrus Grove (the yellow stool pictured above) and the refreshing Sea Urchin. Which of Dulux's new paint colours are catching your eye, friends? Do you have a space in mind in your own home where you might use one of them?

Fall Trend Spot: Dashing Dachshunds!

Armchair | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7
Woof woof! What's that you hear? Only the sound of dachshunds everywhere barking their appreciation of finally hitting the big time! Joining our much loved owls at the top of the 'Animal Print Must Have' chart are these dashing dachshunds currently gracing an array of home accessories and furniture pieces for the new Autumn / Winter 2012 season. The great thing about this trend is how different designers have interpreted the friendly dog motif to suit different tastes and schemes - if you like to take a more modern approach to design then the Jonathan Adler bookends or the the Howkapow dog tray are ideal, whereas John Lewis' Daschshund armchair or Next's Print Dogs would fit a country setting perfectly. My two favourites are the letterpress notecards and Fenella Smith's mug. Which of these darling dachshunds would you pick to take home and love, folks?

H&M Home's New A/W 2012 Collection

Fig.1 | Fig. 2 | Fig. 3 | Fig. 4 | Fig. 5 (4+5 due in stores soon)
I've written here before about new H&M Home collections (here, here, here and here) and whilst the European members of the Bright.Bazaar gang were able to satisfy their shopping drive with an affordable home purchase, the American folks were unable to do so. Well, the excellent news is that from early Spring 2013 the brand will be stocking their homeware line in North America. So, now that even more of us can get excited about H&M Home's new collections, let's take a walk through their A/W 2012 range. The first look, Art Deco Opulence, is the counter trend to the pared-back simplicity we have seen so much of recently: think metallics, shimmering glitter, bold 1920's art deco patterns and sumptuous, indulgent colour palettes. The second trend, Mountain Retreat, is more rustic in it's approach and therefore on closer ground to their previous collections. They've updated the look for the forthcoming season with N.American Indian patterns and Wild West print textiles, all of which is set against a palette of orange and brown hues. Finally, Kid's Kingdom offers a host of playful and colourful options for little ones. Personally I'm feeling drawn to the burnt orange hues of Mountain Retreat, how about you?

Sneak Peek: Toast A/W 2012 Collection

This forthcoming collection from Toast encapsulates so many things I love about Autumn: leisurely weekend mornings spent lounging around the kitchen in my pyjamas; not feeling guilty about weekend days spent inside baking a new recipe; lazy afternoons on the sofa with cosy blankets, cushions and a stack of magazines to challenge the Empire State ready to read. The collection also ticks Mr. Bazaar's boxes when it comes to interior decorating for the season. The colourways are in tune with the darker days: deep racing green is paired with jewel-like purple; soft tea green with biscuit and chocolate. The hues work in harmony with the materials - ceramic, terracotta, organic cotton, British wool - all of which speak volumes of the products' artisan beginnings. Plus, the collection is packed full of practical buys, from storage to tableware and bedding basics, showing its balance between form and function. Which pieces will have you reaching for the credit card when the collection goes live next week?

Bloomingville's Colourful A/W 2012 Collection

Oh, those super stylish Danes now how to get it so right when it comes to design. Bloomingville - founded in Denmark in 2000 - is a prime example of fine Danish design. Initially, the brand's product line consisted of items sourced from European producers as well as a small variety of pieces designed by the company's founder, Betina Stampe. Today the company designs almost all of their product assortment in-house, with a few special vintage items sourced directly from selected suppliers in Southeast Asia and Africa. I can't get enough of these colourful pieces and admire how the brand mixes rustic pieces with a colourful Scandinavian edge - this is Mr. Bazaar's favourite take on Nordic style. There's lots to love here but the neon light cords are a personal favourite. Those office spaces are pretty dreamy too, right?!

Our Workshop Kitchen Accessories

How adorable is the new Bliss in the Woods homeware collection from Our Workshop? The moment I noticed the owl spaghetti jar I was sold - so cute, right? I'm thinking if I treat myself to it I'll have to get the Salt Bird/Pig to keep him company. In fact, it would be hard for me not to buy up most of the collection because I really like the use of colour in all the pieces. I think the balance between form, function and playfulness is spot on. Anything catching your eye, folks?

Ferm Living's Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection

ONE | TWO | THREE | FOUR | FIVE | SIX | SEVEN | EIGHT | NINE
Ferm Living always pull it out the bag, don't they? Their new collection for Autumn/Winter 2012 is a pure delight and bound to bring a smile to your face on any grey Fall day. The collection is a mix of old favourites (I've always been a fan of the brand's Copenhagen print) and new pieces such as the neon stripe cushions. I've pulled together my favourite pieces from the new collection - I especially love the graphic pillows, mint platter and copper tray. Tell me, what would you pick for your home?
