ORIGINAL BRAYTON HOME: BRAYTON HALL, ENGLAND

Have I mentioned that the Brayton Family who built my home, the Brayton Homestead, in 1796, came from England where they owned Brayton Hall?
Sadly, the estate is mostly gone but there is a lovely hotel and golf course. Even the cows are beautiful.

While researching details on the house, I also discovered this picture of the barn; even the animal's towels are
monogrammed. Will build a barn in the future!
 Enjoy...

BARN CHICK PARTY!!!

Take my hand, come with me to a world of pure imagination. Don't be scared- but beware- there are thrills and chills and lots of barn pics. (Above is a illustration that I drew and was published )

It all began, my love for barns, when I moved into the Brayton Homestead, circa 1796, shown here in an old photo I found on ebay. If you look closely you can see the barn that used to be in back of the house. Sadly, it was torn down along time ago. But I want to someday to put one back.
Barns can have a profound eeeeefect on people...

What else would have taken beautiful Julie Marie from Idyllhours,
this month's quest host of this
Barn Chick Party...

to Bootiful Julie Marie?
You must visit her wonderful blog...

As I walk up a hill with just a glimpse of an old barn

I must go closer and closer...

up really close this barns is just waiting to be rescued...

others barns are for rocking....

and some are for weddings.
You may remember that my twin brother was married
in a barn turned restaurant and few Octobers past.

what a grand and great wedding it was.

then last year my twin, Kevin's (right)
son Korey (on left)
actually married on Halloween!
my what fun and so beautiful...

could not resist to make a bridal card...

can you imagine that crusty BARN hardware like this

can be transformed into
gorgeous hardware for lovely barn doors inside?
This is our 3rd Barn Chick Party- it started here..

always keep in mind,
that some places
look haunted but may not be...
and others seem safe
but may not be!

but wherever you call home
A BARN CHICK PARTY
will never be far away
please come on back to my blog on November 10th for the next party.
and THANKS JULIE MARIE!

I recieved this surprise package from the lovely
Julie Marie at Idyllhours
after the last meeting
-thank you...

she had such good time, she sent these as thank you gifts.
the lovely barn/apple trivet, fall ornament and barn card
served as my inspiration for this month's theme
all about barns and apples...

Julie Marie will be hosting next months Barn Chick meeting
October 8, 2010

all barns are special, I think.
Thus far this barn in my town has been saved from demolition.
I love the graphic repetition of the windows...

the outside combination of materials
stone
wood sill
and shingles...

and it's high reaching, vault like soaring beams
are gorgeous
must save this barn...

another barn in my town
of Somerset, Massachusetts.
rustic, faded, and photographed in blazing sunlight,
this barn is a beauty...

Did you notice the horse peeking out to say hi?
We both want to thank you for visiting!
see you next month at Idyllhours!
