Popcorn Puzzle

After a long and busy day yesterday, it was nice to take the evening off. I noticed that Kaylee had started doing a puzzle on her desk and I was quick to jump in on the fun. It was a challenging puzzle with the popcorn all looking the same, but Kaylee was quick! It's fun to see her enjoying one of my favorite hobbies, and it's even better when we can enjoy it together.

Me, a Photographer?

Yesterday, Amy J. and I were photographers for Mandi's wedding. I was a little nervous, but now I can say that I really did enjoy myself. Amy and I made a great team and came out with some great pictures. We have had several people interested in us taking pictures for them, and I am looking forward to doing more exciting challenges. We are still learning, but getting better every day. It's a fun new hobby.

Brian's Cooking

My favorite part of the weekend is when Brian finds some time to cook. This weekend he was amazing. Everything was so YUMMY! Here are pictures of a few things I've eaten this weekend. Homemade bagels, stuffed french toast, and chocolate pudding pie are pictured. Other things not pictured are beef and broccoli with rice, and some strawberry cream cheese for the bagels (we didn't have any, so we mixed some cream cheese with fresh strawberries pureed! It was really good!) No wonder the scale isn't moving down any.
Along with all the cooking, Brian also had all 3 kids all day Saturday while I went to a photography workshop. He washed the truck in and out, did yard work, and managed to keep the kids happy and the house picked up. Wow, he does better than me. I'm looking forward to next weekend.

PS - If you want more info on the stuffed french toast or the bagels you can go to Brian's new blog.

Kyler is 6!

Today is Kyler's big day. He turned 6! We did most of our fun yesterday, so here is a report. Kyler chose to go bowling with the family - we had fun together especially when Kyler got a strike! Then, Brian and I took Kyler out to Lunch at Chili's. We enjoy having time just for him. Then, Kyler had to read the clues to find his birthday presents. He recieved a lot of fun gifts, one of which was a CD player for his room. He chose donuts for his birthday dessert and tortelini for his birthday dinner. My six favorite things about Kyler:
- He's so smart
- He's easy going (not hard to please)
- He's a good brother
- He loves playing games (especially with dad)
- He is growing like a weed and getting so tall!
- He will still give me loves and kisses (don't tell)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLER, we love you!

My Favorite Picture

Since starting my Project 365, I have gotten better at snapping pictures when I see an opportunity. I have taken a lot of pictures since the new year, but this one has to be one of my favorites. Brian has a game on his iphone that Kyler has learned to LOVE! He asks to play it as soon as Brian gets home. He already has an iphone on his list of things he wants when he gets bigger. It's fun to see the boys spend time together.

Manners

Tyson is saying more words every day. It is so nice to be able to communicate instead of me having to guess what he wants all the time. Well, last week on two different occasions the things Tyson said surprised me. First at the breakfast table, he always drinks his milk before he finishes his cereal, then he needs more milk to finish the cereal. This time, he simply said, "Milk please" like he had been talking for a year! The second time we were eating dinner and Tyson burped. Before I could say anything he quickly said, "Excuse me." I don't think that I am that strict on the manners, but he is catching on. I must be doing something right to get manners from a 2 year old. Hope it continues!
