Pumpkin Fun

Last night for FHE we got our pumpkins carved. The kids enjoyed drawing out what they wanted their pumpkins to look like. Luckily, Brian is really good at carving and doesn't mind doing it, so that left my job to be the cleaner. I had to do something to show I helped. This is the first year that I actally convinced Kaylee to put her hand in and grab some seeds out. Kyler still didn't want to even attempt it. We usually just do pumpkins for the kids and call it good, but this year Brian decided to carve one for himself. It was really fun to watch him having fun doing something besides work! I love how his pumpkin turned out. Thanks to both our Grandma's for the pumpkins this year!

Introducing....

My sister Emily and I have finally put our ideas to work. We've been thinking and talking about doing an online store for a long time now and here it is! We have a lot of items posted already, but will add more as we go. So you'll have to keep checking back. To celebrate our new store, we are doing a GIVE-AWAY!! We are giving away 3 different items that you will find in our store. 1 - an adult-sized reversible headband, 2 - a small, but so cute bag, and 3 - a set of pink flower bows. (see pictures below) It's so easy to enter! All you have to do is go to our online store, http://www.girlyaccents.com/, and see all of our fun stuff. Leave me a comment telling me your favorite item and you are done. We will pick ONE random winner from all of the comments left on my blog and Emily's blog. That person will win all 3 items next Saturday, October 25th, at 10:00 pm. Have fun browsing our store and remember that Christmas is right around the corner!

A Special Day

Yesterday was our special day. It was really fun to see how happy Kaylee was. She really couldn't stop smiling. It was really neat to have so much of our family here to see her get baptized. We had all the family over for lunch and visiting, which is always good. Kaylee really enjoyed being able to play with her cousins for a while. We were really blessed with the weather not being as bad as we thought and also with Tyson feeling better (he has had the croup). It really was a special day.

Birthday Girl

Kaylee is 8 years old today. It is this monumental birthday has finally made me realize that I'm getting old! It's crazy that I have an 8 year old daughter, but I can't imagine life without her. It's fun for me to have another girl in the house. We have done some fun girl things together. Today we enjoyed a trip to the orthodontist (the easiest visit yet!), lunch with the boys at McDonalds (they got to play in the toys, which we don't do very often), took treats to her class at school, made her spotlight poster, had dinner at China Isle (Just Kaylee with mom and dad), opened presents and had doughnuts for dessert. Several years ago I learned my lesson on the dessert. After spending all day making a fun cake, Kaylee didn't want to eat any. It was then that I decided that I would let them pick what they wanted and would enjoy eating. Kaylee's choice was doughnuts, which was great for me - no work! Brian even picked them up for me. Overall I think we had a fun day. It's fun to watch Kaylee grow up and see how smart she is. She really keeps us on our toes. We are looking forward to her baptism this weekend, along with
a big family party. I still can't believe my baby is 8!
