Kindergarten

The long a waited day finally came! Kyler got to go to school! He did awesome and had a lot of fun. It was a lot easier for me than when Kaylee went to Kindergarten. I must be used to it now. (Does that mean I'm getting old?) The 3 hours go way too fast for me, not being able to get everything done that I wanted to with only 1 kid! I love Kyler looking nice for school, but I thought it was funny yesterday when he asked me why he was wearing church clothes to school! Kyler is so smart and is going to do really good in Kindergarten.

The Results

My poor Kyler has been suffering from allergies all summer. We have never noticed these symptoms until about June, when they hit us hard! It seems to be getting worse since then, so I decided to take him in to get tested. Brian is VERY allergic to everything, so he surely gets this from his dad. Kyler was a brave guy as they pricked his back 21 times, to test for 21 of the most common allergies. The ones that swelled up, he is allergic to. All grasses (including hay), weeds (especially Russian thistle or tumbleweeds), and animals (dogs, cats, and horses) are the worst ones.
The doctor said he is very allergic for his age. So, I'm really happy I took him in so that we can get the best medicine to help him. 2 hours, 3 prescriptions and 1 over the counter medication later, we were on our way home.

School Girl

On Monday, Kaylee started 2nd grade! She was really excited to go back to school. She has a nice teacher and some friends in her class from last year. She was all decked out in her new school clothes, including a cute new braclet and a cute flower in her hair. She is growing up so fast! Thanks to dad for taking all of the cute pictures of her! Kyler's Kindergarten doesn't start until next week, but he is also very excited to go to school.

Fun at Bear Lake

For our last weekend before school, we enjoyed playing at Bear Lake for another Family Reunion. The kids love the shallow water and sand to play in. They didn't want to come home, and are already asking to go back again.

We survived

We all survived the week of scout camp. Brian made it home safe with all 17 boys. It was a TON of work, but he pulled it off thanks to the other leaders and dads that went to help him. While at camp, Brian and 2 of his scouts took on the challenge of the mile swim! It took him 44 minutes! I was impressed. Here are a few pictures from his adventure. If any of you scout moms want to raid our picture stash, let me know. Brian got some good ones.

I got to go play with my family, so thanks to them, I am still sane. The kids had fun with their cousins, while Emily and I worked on more projects (and played a little too!) Then at my mom's house it was back to back parties! We had a jewelry party with my friend Monica, which is always a blast! (Thanks again Monica!) Then we had a Mary Kay party playing in the make up. The wish list is always way too long for that one. Luckily, the kids were pretty good (with only a few minor incidents). I think that Tyson was really confused why dad wasn't coming home, but was super excited to see him again on Saturday. We're all glad he's home!

Boggles my mind

Brian is the most amazing scout master I know. He works really good with the boys and the boys enjoy him. However, days like yesterday make it really tempting to resign (okay, it's really me who wants Brian to resign.) It was a really tough day for me. I have seen all the work, time, planning, energy, and more time that Brian has put in to scouts, and yet there are some who just don't appreciate it at all. It boggles my mind. It still brings me to tears to think about some of the things that were said to him yesterday. Well, as we went to bed last night we discussed the lessons learned from the day. My main one is that I will be more appreciative to those who do things for me and my family. I'm not very good at Thank You notes, but I am going to step it up a notch and do better from now on. Lesson learned, and hopefully we won't have any more yesterdays. Thanks for listening. I feel better now.
