Bird Problem solved!

All week we have been trying to get rid of this pesky bird! It has been trying to build a nest on top of our porch light. We have taken down starts of nests every day this week (sometimes twice a day!) When I saw this nest on Friday, I caught the bird in action! After taking the nest down again, Brian put a orange ball on top of our light so that they couldn't build there any more. Surprisingly, it has worked. I think the bird finally got the hint. So anyone wondering what that orange ball is doing there, now you know.

Trouble

I'm usually really good at making sure that doors are closed (to the pantry, bathroom, and other fun places to play) before I head to the shower, but I missed the pantry yesterday. This is what I found when I came downstairs! From now on I will be double checking the pantry.

2 Baby Quilts

So, in February and March I was busy working on baby quilts for my mom to give to the 2 new girl grandbabies (one came in January and one coming in June). Yes, 2 quilts, almost exactly the same. Mom was so busy with the wedding, I offered to make them for her. (One less thing for her to worry about.) I had a lot of fun using some of my denim stash and making it girly at the same time. I wanted to try something new, so I tried the scalloped binding. I love how it turned out! Lacey got hers in February, and we just gave Cali hers last Saturday at her baby shower. My favorite part is the quilting. I'm good at flowers now, after doing both these quilts. I'm looking forward to a new project now.

2007 Scrapbook Pages

My mom has a scrapbook that we all make pages for. We each make 2 pages of our family for the whole year. It has been so fun to look at and see how we change over the years. I finally got my pages done for 2007. I love how they turned out. Now the pressure is on all my sisters to get their pages done! :-)

My favorite 5 year old

I can now say that Kyler and I are expert train track builders. Building tracks has been our favorite thing to do together. Last year, while Kaylee was at school and Tyson wasn't born yet, we would build trains everyday. Today, Kaylee was at school and Tyson was taking a nap and we found a perfect opportunity to build a train track. After we get it together I enjoy watching Kyler manage the trains, making sure they don't crash or fixing them if they get stuck. He's getting so good at it! Too bad the track won't last long after Tyson wakes up! But, I'm glad to see we are still getting our moneys-worth out of our fun GeoTrax.

Buckets!

This weekend we worked hard to give our food storage a boost. We got more buckets and tons of gamma lids (they are worth every penny). We were really surprised when we went to Costco that they were out of flour and wheat! So, we went to Macey's instead. I volunteered to make the labels, but then wished I hadn't. It took forever! But, they look good and I feel very organized. We've been needing to do this for a while, so it feels good to have it done.

April Fools

Kaylee was really interested in April Fools this year. She kept asking me what we do on April Fools, so I gave her a few ideas. But, that wasn't good enough, she wanted to DO something. So we came up with a plan to trick dad. We made popcorn for dinner and put it on everyones plates, when dad came home he was so confused why we were having popcorn for dinner. (He thought it was mom's way of saying she was on strike!) We let him think about it for a bit, and he really didn't catch on. We finally told him "April Fools" and we had a great laugh. The kids loved it! Then, we got out the real dinner. Next year I might try Amy's Cupcakes! Fun!

Jazz fans?

Okay, so we aren't that big into sports, but we all got tickets to the Jazz game Monday night for my Uncle's 50th birthday party! A lot of my mom's side of the family were able to make it. I was worried about taking all my kids, but I have to admit they were pretty good kids! Tyson was entertained by all the noise and the new things to look at. Kaylee and Kyler couldn't decide if they liked the noise or not. One minute Kaylee was crying because I scared her when I cheered and Kyler was covering his ears, the next minute Kaylee and Kyler were the ones helping to make noise! I thought the evening was really fun and I'm really glad we went.
