Sneak Peek!

Ok Cali, this is for you! Here is a sneak peek at how cute your baby quilt is turning out. I'm so excited about it! I have the top done, now I just need to machine quilt it. I love it so much that I might make one for me too! Yes, for me, not for a baby! :-) I hope I can resist showing you the whole thing, but when it's all done it will be hard not to.

Congrat to Emily on her new baby girl! (Baby #4) She was born at 7:59 am. She weighed in at 6 lbs. 9 oz. and 19.25 inches long. I won't post any more details yet so Emily can share her own news, but I will tell you more about her later.

Good Mail Day!

The kids were so excited to get a package in the mail today! Kyler had to wait for a long time until Kaylee got home from school to open it. Inside the package they found coloring books, Valentines, and new pillowcases! They were quick to put the pillowcases on the pillows and then carried them all around for the rest of the day! So fun! Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Cressall, what a good idea!

Valentines Day Already?

My kids keep telling me it's not Valentines Day yet because it's not February. Well, I guess I could be jumping the gun, but the Valentine decorations are out. I love decorating for Valentines. My latest project has been my Valentine table runner. It's finally 100% finished and on the table. It was the perfect project to learn how to stipple (the machine quilting). I love how cute it turned out!

Tyson Is 1 Year Old!

Tyson LOVES watching Elmo on Sesame Street, so we decided that an Elmo cake would be perfect for his 1st birthday. (We celebrated a few days late due to mom having eye surgery.) On Saturday, still with a little fuzzy vision I attempted to decorate the Elmo cake. I was happy with how it turned out. We had a fun little party where Tyson got a red wagon, an outfit, diapers, and an elmo toy. We all enjoyed the cake! It was fun to watch Tyson get into it. He did a good job getting messy. I still can't believe my baby is 1! Time flies!

PRK Report

I have survived my PRK surgery. The morning of surgery we were still talking pros and cons of doing PRK verses LASIK. We could have done LASIK, but it would have been a one-time deal, no touch-ups or re-dos. My corneas were just too thin for that. We decided that the safest route would be PRK. I knew it would be a longer recovery, so I prepared myself. The surgery itself wasn't bad at all. The worst part was when he flushed my eye with really cold fluid. We were done and on the way home within 90 minutes. I was surprised how well I could see right after surgery, better than expected.

DAY 1 and 2: recovery as expected. I was really sensitive to light and even had my family eating breakfast in the dark. DAY 3: By far the worst day! I didn't sleep much the night before, so I was tired and the pain was worse. I had Brian go get my Lortab prescription. That helped a lot with the pain, but it also made me nauseated. Yuck! Brian went back to work on Friday, but seeing my condition, he decided to take Kyler with him. So while Tyson slept, I slept too. Luckily, by the end of the day I had made enough improvement that Brian and I watched a movie. I had to wear sunglasses to be able to see the bright TV! (The movie we watched happened to have audio narration available for the visually impaired. It helped a lot!) Having survived day 3, DAY 4 was a piece of cake. I still had fuzzy vision, but the pain was not as bad. I am looking forward to Monday when I get my contact bandages out.

So overall, all the pain and recovery is going to be well worth it! This morning as I reached for my glasses to see the clock, I quickly remembered I didn't need them! It's still so amazing to me and made me think of when the Savior healed the blind. What a miracle.

A Good Weekend

This weekend was really fun for all of us. Brian headed out on a winter camp with the scouts. There were 9 boys and 3 leaders that went. They snowshoed to a Yurt in the upper Uintas and slept there overnight. They all had a really good time and luckily didn't get stuck in the snow. It was very reassuring for Brian to call me on the satellite phone just to know they were doing okay. He said it was a very good workout. A good experience for all of them.

So, while Brian was gone I took the kids and went to my mom's house. She wanted to get a quilt going for Ashlee's wedding. I took it as a huge compliment when she said she couldn't do it without me. Friday night I got the 2 fabrics pieced and ready to go. Me, Dad, Mom, Ashlee, and Aaron all worked hard to get it on the frames and ready to quilt. Mom and I couldn't resist putting in a few stitched before bed. Saturday we had a big crew quilting: Mom, Me, Ashlee, Cali, Natalie, and even Aaron put in some stitches. (We missed you, Emily!) We didn't get as much done as I wanted to before I had to pack up my kids and head home. It's going to be a beautiful quilt and I can't wait to see it all done! I look forward to helping with the binding too.
