Kaylee's 1st Day of School

Kaylee is in 1st grade! School started on Tuesday, but today was her 1st day of school. She wasn't feeling very good the last 2 days. We are glad she is doing better today. She was a little nervous going to her class, but when she walked in there were 3 or 4 people that called her name to say hi. After that, she was just fine! I'm sure I will get all the details when she gets home. Kyler is ready for Preschool to start next week!

Brady and Meranie's Wedding

Friday, August 10th was Meranie (my cousin) and Brady's wedding. It was so fun for me to be apart of it. Although, I thought it was really funny to introduce myself to Brady for the first time at the wedding. We just never had the chance to meet before that. I was impressed at how friendly Brady was. He was handing out hugs right and left to a bunch of people that he hadn't ever met. Meranie looked soooo beautiful and happy! At the luncheon she said that she was beginning to think that all the good guys were taken, but that she found one better than she could have ever imagined! The only part of the day that I saw a lot of tears was when Meranie had a dance with her dad at the end of the reception. It was very cute. I thought the day was perfect. I will miss having Meranie around to play with, but I'm so happy for them both!

I smell memories.

As I have been walking/jogging in the evenings, I have noticed the smells around me that have triggered some fun memories. To the East of my neighborhood there are some horses. The other night the smell was particularily strong. First it made me miss riding (it's been WAY too long). Second I remembered a ride that me, dad and Mark went on with Kip Peterson. It was a LONG ride and a little scary too, not knowing if our trail would take up back to where we started. I just remember riding a fat horse on a skinny trail. Good memory!
Third, we have some mink farms not far from our neighborhood. Some of you may have smelt them before. We don't smell them all the time, but when the wind blows our direction, you get a good wiff. For me if smells exactly like the pig farms we would always visit in AZ. One memory in particular came to mind. If I remember right, we had company in town and were showing them around. (I have no idea why the pig farm was a highlight of Snowflake). We drove into the pig farm, as if we owned the place. After we had seen enough we went to leave, but the gate had been locked! I'm not sure how long it took us to get out, but I'm sure the company we had with us have never had that experience before or since then!
Just some fun memories I've been thinking about. Mark you will have to correct me if I got any details wrong! :-)

Family Campout

This last weekend we had our annual family campout in the backyard. We had tons of fun! We finally used the fire bowl that I got Brian for Father's Day. We cooked hot dogs for dinner and later enjoyed marshmallows (smores! Yum!) We all started the night in the tent, but Tyson didn't last, so he and I went in the house. Glad it was close! :-) We also enjoyed playing ball, frisbee, and swinging in the backyard. It was a lot of fun right in our own backyard!
